- We originally found this Mini Cooper in Tokyo - one of the J-Spec models made specifically for the Japanese Domestic Market. After upgrading it with a supercharger and an E85 conversion, we decided it was time to take it to the next level and transform it into the ultimate Mini sleeper...

I think MCM is arguably one of the best programmes ever to come out of TH-cam. From the production and editing to the factual info it provides - its a masterpiece in all aspects.

Best mini sleeper is being built by Bad Obsession Motorsports.
Daniel Streefkerk there's only two of them and they have to work alongside of doing project binky, it's a miracle they get them out as frequently as they do hats off to the guys!

Watching the full playlist of the mini builds, and I just noticed that this video was released one year and one day after the completion video of the supercharged version! So neat! 😎🤙
Just after I'd passed my driving test at 17 a friend of mine, with a family racing history, had a 1275 Clubman GT worked on by Colin Clan. I had a hat he wanted, the deal was I could I drive the 1275 in return for the hat. A lot of years later the memory still makes me smile and shiver!
Finally you are getting close to mixing the voices and music at the same volume! Well done guys. No more decreasing and increasing the volume constantly during a video. :)

I can tell Moog is emotionally connected to this Mini. Tearing it apart is taking a toll on his mojo.
Fark, when Turbo Yoda is involved im happy.
I feel like an NA B series is a lot slower than what you're thinking. The original car only weigh like 300kg more than the Mini, and half of the kids with them gut them. Like.. if it's NA I just don't see how it's going to be as satisfying as the other MCM wagons you guys built. Oh well will just have to wait and see what it turns out like.
The 90's the B16B actually has about 20 to 30 more hp compared to a b16a/b16a1. a B16B has roughly the same output as a B18C engine.
i have a feeling this thing will not remain n/a for its whole life. but honestly it'll prolly be supercharged, i imagine trying to fit all the turbo components in there

This is such an odd episode, because Moog has these very brief moments during when he's discussing how they've got to cut into the sheet-metal of the car where you can see in his eyes that it's almost like he realizes he's having to butcher what was a perfect car before he decided he needed more power, and since the entire car is apart (having spent what was almost certainly several hours if not a few days of both his/Marty's as well as the other guys' time), there's really no turning back at this point. I haven't seen the other videos yet, so who knows, I'm sure he's going to love the final product. But in this video, he's definitely got a few moments where he's trying to hide that he's feeling overwhelmed at chopping up a car that's special to him.
So weird to look back at this episode and see Turbo Yoda in a proper work shirt! The Skid Factory has a much more laid back feeling to it!

not gonna lie I'm a massive mini fan and I found this very emotional to watch. I don't think I could of ripped apart such a perfectly crafted complete mini, I honestly thought he would of bought a second one to do a swap but despite everything I love the swap!

Fun fact: Honda also had an A series engine. It was an iron block SOHC 4 banger with 3 valves per cylinder and was either carbureted or multi-port EFI running OBD-0 depending on trim level.

just as an FYI to anyone thinking about doing this swap. Both the 1.6 B16B and the 1.8 B18C from the Integra Type R are identical in terms of size. in fact they share the same head, manifold, and block but different internals.

That's the only proper Mini build on TH-cam (outside a few, but sadly undocumented ones). This one...just a kit swap inside a car that was worth more original, much more, now it's worthless.

aserta Well yes tho that Binky is the only "proper" build and no to this being worthless. I think when a car is your hobby it's what it is worth to you what's important. Not what it's worth to others :) I think this is a really cool build too.

IamNeil aRon how would you fit a 2jz? The b16 is already to big and barely fit.
The only way you're getting a 2jz mini is if you had more money than sense. You'd have to build a tube frame RWD pseudo replica. Even if you could modify a real mini to fit a 2JZ, the weight on, and power going, to the front wheels would ruin any chance of it ever driving properly. Infact, you'd basically have to build a new chassis to have a show.
I did a quick google and there appears to be a few people claiming to have RWD minis, but they're using bike engines etc rather than a 3l straight 6.

When Honda used a long shaft and a short shaft the long shaft bent into a corkscrew and caused major vibration. And, that was with their 50 HP engine! By making the long shaft into two pieces they were able to keep the shafts relatively thin without it twisting up.

I would've got another mini to do this, because taking apart a perfectly running mini with modifications is insane in my book. And you can always decide to keep the mini you had, or sell it. And you have yourself a car you can drive while working on the MiHo ;-)
All that work that they did to supercharge the car and run E85 was pretty cool and unique. Now they are gonna have another cookie-cutter car as lots of people have honda swapped the mini.
Totally agree they should have gotten another car to swap rather then ruin the one that so much time was spent on.
