MCM. Drain that oil back out of the transmission and refill it with Honda Manual transmission fluid. If you used gear oil that is going to destroy the transmission. I promise. 10 year Honda Technician here!
Ross Jenkins I cringed when I saw that oil going into the trans, what came out looked like it wasn't even used. That and the ryco filter, both need to go! Honda MTF or Amsoil syncromesh 5w-30. Penrite make Transgear 75-80 (same as 10w30) which is listed as Honda spec, unsure if Honda approved but I've used it.
I concur, even Honda automatic transmissions, need the Honda fluid. Complete difference in shifting if you put crap fluid in. I think it's called Honda ZF I can't remember, but I do remember it was 8.36$ for One quart!!! But worth it😁

I can't help but think that you should've gotten a different mini for this project. Kept this one supercharged and nice, for the road. AND you would have this whole new, outrageous "track-day" mini! (with a roll-cage, racing interior and such), that you can actually use without messing up the nice bodywork.

Guys... Thank you for seeing my dream car come true. I have had a 78 Clubman GT, x3 Rover Mini's a 83,96 & 98 over the years. They are part of my soul. Sadly my last one which I wanted to give to my son for his 21st in another 10 years we had to sell for funds for my wife's surgery which saved her eye sight so made me happy . Tho I miss her, My wife called the last Rover Mini "The Mistress" Lol. Your channel rocks thank you
hey moog, you might want to check out a subframe joining kit, all that power will be a strain on the front floor, it saves popping spot welds and stiffens up the chassis.
i remember back in the day around 2007 an au series 2 tickford xr6 (fastest au iv seen still to date and the cleanest) getting floged in a straight line by a mini supercharged....the guy was chasing him for throwing a chip out the window! light weight

U just earnt a sub. the technical aspects are great but I really appreciate how u then explain it in laymens to assist people who are warning up to mechanical appreciation to better grasp modern car mechanics. alot of channel just talk textbook and it's really difficult for the everyman (like me) to actually understand what presenters are talking about. cheers

Use Honda MTF for that beauty of an LSD trans! Honda used motor oil in their gearboxes back in the day.... but they suggest and use the expensive MTF now. What did you put in?
Yes Ek came B series and D series, The D series shift linkage are the same but a bit shorter than B series. And as for the left side mount, theres is different mount brakets that came in B series because Integras, Crv, and Civics cames with B series engines. You had integra mount MCM.
I have wanted to do a Honda swap into a classic Mini for years... although the I wanted to go with a boosted D16. Had the car and the engine but then had to sell it. This brings back the itch though!
Knowing what the B16B feels like in my CRX, that engine in a chassis that is 400-500lbs lighter is going to be a blast! Have fun Moog, and welcome back to Hondas!
Guys, don't use Castrol transmission oil in the gearbox!!!! The LSD needs Honda MTF (or alternatively Landrover MTF)! The oil you seem to have used (unless it is just to give Castrol a bit more screen time and you actually used the correct fluid) will ruin the LSD.
