A Lister LT1C single cylinder high revving air cooled diesel under the bonnet of a Mini . . would cut grass big time , up in the NT of Oz , back in day . . five of us (some not small) went on a hunting trip down the track of a round trip of 500 kms or so with all our gear in a Mini Minor . . you can achieve a lot with Mini's , but not if you are claustrophobic
technically the best power the weight is a cart styled layout its extremely light weight balanced even better rwd or awd and to top it off cart engines for being so small can make huge power with a supercharger or turbocharger but i do love me some minis

It was a 1963 1071 S , with a 649 cam, LCB, straight cut box, and twin inch and a half SU's,. etc, etc, the little red thing would hardly ever start, would, often break down, and cost me a fortune to insure.. I think Marty honestly summed up what I love about certain cars at 13:31 and how they give you a mad adrenaline rush. Moog wasn't even going above the speed limit and yet it felt like he doing much greater speeds. For a daily driver or just driving around on the streets, that is a great little car.

Lacks talent and or understanding to make a Mini reliable. They were my daily drivers for years... A friend made his Cluman Estate powered by a 4 cyl Suzuki twin cam with turbo & 5 speed. Plenty fast enough. Most VTEC conversions are sold by owners within a couple years. If you want a balls out Mini get a Z-cars Hayabusa conversion. 0-60 under 3 secs.

I don't think the guy gave him any crap, and as always Moog was very polite and respectful. The guy was just honest and told him what kind of contest it was and what they look for. I think Minis are in certain ways like Hondas. You need to own one to really know how great they are. Hondas get lots of shit talk but ones you own a S2000 or Civic Type R you realize how well they are built and how great pieces of automotive engineering they are.

Honda were ahead of the curve, but stayed humble, if that makes sense... The DC2R DC5R & DC5S are track cars... Incredible grip for fwd cars too... The engine in my car is still quieter than the 4cyl in the 2015 Mercedes A,B,C & GLA... I've compared them before... Take care of them & they won't die... Just well built I think is what it comes down too...

Dude... I’m part of a classic ford club and there is a guy with a 73 bronco that was last painted in 1991 and has had the same tires sinse 1999 and the tires look brand new. The paint is actually better than what came from the factory (original colors just polished). And the interior is show room quality of life. I don’t know how people do it honestly

don't worry about what others will think of your car, just build what you want...I'm building a 5.0L swapped rx7, it gets some hate online but when people see it in person they love it.
Thats how classic car meat goes, doesn't metter how modify your car is. Only thing that metters is how well is cleaned and taken care off, paint most be perfect, no rust anywhere, same goes for the interior, most be cleaned and everything most be perfect. Most classic car meets with competition i go have 2 category, one that is for purist, no mods allowed, where cars are valued on how original they are and the modify category, if the meet is big enought they slip that category in sub categories, in the end most cars are judge by how much hard work was put into it and to keep it looking perfect.
say you are in a purist category, everything would have been stock and it comes down to who has a better maintained car. if you are in a modified category, unless the car has trims falling and duct tapes everywhere, its rather difficult to judge since there are so many varying parameters. how do you compare between somebody with a transplanted Vtec vs a turbo charged mini? how do you determine which is the better way to route the various pipes in a heavily modified car? so as long as everything is bolted on nicely and routed neatly, you are stuck with judging on how well these cars are maintained.
Thats were the sub categories in the modified category i told about comes in. Judging if the meeting is big enought, they will create more categories to fit similar cars and be as fair as possible, in this case, the Super Charged mini would problably be in stock engine modification and the Vtec mini in engine swap category, you could also divide the stock engine in other category and so on and so on. If meeting doesn't have all of that they will problably vote on the most impressive car, the one that is soo well modify that look like a car manufecter did that, not someone else, how clean the car is and ect. Some meeting also decide the winner by letting the people vote on who they think its the best car.
For those of you wondering why he writes upside down...it's very common for lefties (such as myself) to smear ink from the pen all over the paper, making it difficult to read. Some of us try to overcome this by curling our hand around the pen, obviously his solution is to turn the paper around. Hope this helps 👍
Hye mates, That was really awesome but from my personal opinion as long as the body is still strong enough to accept the engine that u put into it, I could say it is an added value to it. Less space , less fuel consumption because of the body weight and thr most important part is that the speed that you get from it. Keep rocking and awesome ride. Peace from Malaysian.
If I was going to go as far as you've gone with your Mini one of the first things I would've done is de-seam it, de-seamed Mini's really do make the stand out from the pack, it takes off all of the rough edges and really is the most beautiful thing you can do to it's appearance, it shows just how beautiful it's original designers had in mind before it went into production. The Mini will always be one of my all time favourite cars. I'd love to see you fit a turbo and double the HP again although where you would put it is a mystery to someone like me who looked at the size of the VTEC when it arrived and just thought that you may have bitten off more than you chose but it was nice to be so pleasantly surprised. Pretty sure you obviously knew it would fit before starting the project but it was still an interesting project to follow along. I wish we had seen a more detailed overview of the sheet metal mods especially to the fire wall and seen the bay after all the chops had been done. Hopefully in the not too distant future I will have all the tools I need to attempt such a project. Not sure exactly what project I would like to undertake but turning something fairly unobtrusive into something spectacular has a lot of appeal. One of the first things that I really need to do is get myself something practical so a Hilux is probably going to be the first thing I decide to purchase, whether that becomes my project build only time will tell.

That's what I love about Mini's, because you're sooooo low down, even at the speed limit, it feels like warp speed, and they can carry that speed through the corners!! Owned 2 mini's in my life, a Mayfair/Cooper conversion with only 75bhp, and. Monte Carlo with with a stage 3 and 145bhp! I want another but can't afford a toy right now! 😟
And here in Britian, the minis home they are a very rare sight nowadays. Our weather and being a small island means that the majority have been turned to rust (old British build quality didnt help either!) Such a shame as they are great cars. I was glad to be in a Mini one day. My mate had just fitted new front brakes to his beautiful black Mini (wide wheels, arches, bucket seats, cool steering wheel etc) it was only a 1.0 but he thrashed the living daylights out of it down a sliproad off the motorway. As the roundabout loomed into view, the Mini still doing around 60-70 MPH, he then states "the brakes have failed" (or words to that effect!) I took that to be a joke, as we then flew round the tight roundabout quicker than I've ever been before!!! It was only after we screeched round and I saw the look on his face that I realised he'd been serious, very nearly deadly serious!!! It was only down to the Minis incredible handling that we made that corner at that speed (must have been over 50 MPH!) If we'd been in any other car we would have ended up wrapped round the lamppost!!!

You guys should do a video on Australian modification rules like what limitations you have when modifying the internal and external features of a car.
Below a certain power level the regs can be annoying, but once you hit over 400KW the cops can't catch you so it doesn't matter as much =P

Dude... I’m part of a classic ford club and there is a guy with a 73 bronco that was last painted in 1991 and has had the same tires sinse 1999 and the tires look brand new. The paint is actually better than what came from the factory (original colors just polished). And the interior is show room quality of life. I don’t know how people do it honestly

Thats how classic car meat goes, doesn't metter how modify your car is. Only thing that metters is how well is cleaned and taken care off, paint most be perfect, no rust anywhere, same goes for the interior, most be cleaned and everything most be perfect. Most classic car meets with competition i go have 2 category, one that is for purist, no mods allowed, where cars are valued on how original they are and the modify category, if the meet is big enought they slip that category in sub categories, in the end most cars are judge by how much hard work was put into it and to keep it looking perfect.
cable ties and duct tape are a big no no
say you are in a purist category, everything would have been stock and it comes down to who has a better maintained car.
if you are in a modified category, unless the car has trims falling and duct tapes everywhere, its rather difficult to judge since there are so many varying parameters. how do you compare between somebody with a transplanted Vtec vs a turbo charged mini? how do you determine which is the better way to route the various pipes in a heavily modified car? so as long as everything is bolted on nicely and routed neatly, you are stuck with judging on how well these cars are maintained.
Thats were the sub categories in the modified category i told about comes in. Judging if the meeting is big enought, they will create more categories to fit similar cars and be as fair as possible, in this case, the Super Charged mini would problably be in stock engine modification and the Vtec mini in engine swap category, you could also divide the stock engine in other category and so on and so on. If meeting doesn't have all of that they will problably vote on the most impressive car, the one that is soo well modify that look like a car manufecter did that, not someone else, how clean the car is and ect. Some meeting also decide the winner by letting the people vote on who they think its the best car.

For those of you wondering why he writes upside down...it's very common for lefties (such as myself) to smear ink from the pen all over the paper, making it difficult to read. Some of us try to overcome this by curling our hand around the pen, obviously his solution is to turn the paper around. Hope this helps 👍

Hye mates, That was really awesome but from my personal opinion as long as the body is still strong enough to accept the engine that u put into it, I could say it is an added value to it. Less space , less fuel consumption because of the body weight and thr most important part is that the speed that you get from it. Keep rocking and awesome ride. Peace from Malaysian.

If I was going to go as far as you've gone with your Mini one of the first things I would've done is de-seam it, de-seamed Mini's really do make the stand out from the pack, it takes off all of the rough edges and really is the most beautiful thing you can do to it's appearance, it shows just how beautiful it's original designers had in mind before it went into production. The Mini will always be one of my all time favourite cars.
I'd love to see you fit a turbo and double the HP again although where you would put it is a mystery to someone like me who looked at the size of the VTEC when it arrived and just thought that you may have bitten off more than you chose but it was nice to be so pleasantly surprised. Pretty sure you obviously knew it would fit before starting the project but it was still an interesting project to follow along.
I wish we had seen a more detailed overview of the sheet metal mods especially to the fire wall and seen the bay after all the chops had been done. Hopefully in the not too distant future I will have all the tools I need to attempt such a project. Not sure exactly what project I would like to undertake but turning something fairly unobtrusive into something spectacular has a lot of appeal. One of the first things that I really need to do is get myself something practical so a Hilux is probably going to be the first thing I decide to purchase, whether that becomes my project build only time will tell.

That's what I love about Mini's, because you're sooooo low down, even at the speed limit, it feels like warp speed, and they can carry that speed through the corners!! Owned 2 mini's in my life, a Mayfair/Cooper conversion with only 75bhp, and. Monte Carlo with with a stage 3 and 145bhp! I want another but can't afford a toy right now! 😟

And here in Britian, the minis home they are a very rare sight nowadays. Our weather and being a small island means that the majority have been turned to rust (old British build quality didnt help either!) Such a shame as they are great cars. I was glad to be in a Mini one day. My mate had just fitted new front brakes to his beautiful black Mini (wide wheels, arches, bucket seats, cool steering wheel etc) it was only a 1.0 but he thrashed the living daylights out of it down a sliproad off the motorway. As the roundabout loomed into view, the Mini still doing around 60-70 MPH, he then states "the brakes have failed" (or words to that effect!) I took that to be a joke, as we then flew round the tight roundabout quicker than I've ever been before!!! It was only after we screeched round and I saw the look on his face that I realised he'd been serious, very nearly deadly serious!!! It was only down to the Minis incredible handling that we made that corner at that speed (must have been over 50 MPH!) If we'd been in any other car we would have ended up wrapped round the lamppost!!!

VTEC minis have been commonplace for a very long time, used to see so many back in mid-late 2000's when I went to dozens of shows in the UK
