  • Here are 10 cards that I personally run in my voltron decks that I think at the very least will bring up your deck a notch or two on the power scale by their inclusion alone.

my biggest tips for voltron as a real expert (trust me)
    1. your commander needs to have the biggest power/keyword to mana statline available. This is part of why Akiri Line-slinger is nuts as a voltron commander. Honestly anything higher than 4 CMC is incredibly hard to justify playing in the command zone of a Voltron deck that aims to be strong. There is no creature that in the right deck costs 2 mana and hits 15 power on turn 4 with upside except Akiri. And no creature that hits for a hasty 7 out of the command zone potentially on turn 3 other than Zurgo Helmsmasher. And having innate double strike like Samut Voice of Dissent is the same as having big power and most of the times better due to 2 >
    2. Get on-hit triggers. You want to be hitting your opponents. Having things that trigger off of that for value like drawing cards, ramping, and even comboing out with combat triggers is your win condition. This is why swords of x/y are crazy. This is why Professional Facebreaker, Grim Hireling and Reaver Cleaver are incredible.
    3. You shouldn't have a critical mass of equipment cards in the deck. Rather you should have a critical mass of equipment tutors in your deck, and the perfected list of the most powerful and efficient equips to suit your meta and commander synergy. For example in the deck I am playing right now I have 10 equips and 10 tutors if you include Urza's Saga. This is why toolbox equips like Sword of Hearth & Home plus ETB tutors like Stoneforge Mystic, Trophy Mage, and the greatest toolbox equip of all, Sunforger, are amazing in these decks.
    4. Equip cost reduction is second to ramp, but it is still ramp. Especially if you use Sunforger.
    5. Recursion is key. Get Sevinne's Reclamation, seriously.
    6. Don't use cards outside of your commander that only beat for a lot of damage. Use ones that if your commander is equipped, they boost that power immensely. For example, Bruse Tarl is a nonbo with swords because he has to target through the color protection provided by swords. On the other hand, Reyav Master Smith provides double strike without targeting. Godo Bandit Warlord only untaps himself, but Aurelia gives you another combat phase whether she's the main beater or your commander is.
    7. Sunforger is the god equip. Not close. And because it and other god-level equips like Hearth & Home and Feast & Famine and yes, now Reaver Cleaver is on that list too, are kill-on-sight cards, you have to cast them when you can protect them. Generally, I recommend having a suite of protection spells like Teferi's Protection, Akroma's Will and Boros Charm in your Voltron deck.

Really nice guide! I’m building a voltron deck for the first time with Galea and this was helpful to see some examples of good auras and equipment to use. Some of your narration feels a bit sped-up from word to word, but that will relax over time I think and your editing is great. Well done!

Thank you so much for watching the video man, and Galea is probably one of the best choices for Voltron. One of my personal faves is Ruhan since it's a 7/7 for 4, and the randomness of the ability means I get targeted less by the table :) Also thanks for the feedback, I will keep my pace in mind for the next vid ;)

ok, so hear me out. "Ardenn, intrepid archeologist" and "Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh." if you're gonna use Red and White you might as well use those two as your commanders.

Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate every view so much :) Let me know who your favourite voltron commander is, and what secret tech you use in it that makes people they underestimated it for just being voltron!

Ken, World Warrior (Aisha of the spark) from Street Fighter secret lair has replaced my wyleth precon commander, I aim to pump Ken with evasive doublestrike and +1s in order to cast free sorcery spells in the middle of the attack step.

Thank you for watching man, and I hope my recommendations win you many games, your opponents won't realise they're dead until it's too late with a Colossus Hammer on that Bruenor!

    Zurgo is made for Worldslayer.
`Land destruction is kind of rude. but if the worldslayer is your only card in your deck that does that, them I fine with it.
Just don't make land destruction the main focus of you deck. that gets old real quick.

    Great video
But I don't get why white and red are the best voltron colors?

    • @darkblade830
      @darkblade830 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Most of the staples for a voltron are in red and white. One of the best commander combos for voltron is "Ardenn, intrepid archeologist" and "Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh." They both have Partner. allowing to turn your 99 into 98 (which crazy good, i don't care what anyone says.) You could pull off a turn 3 or 4 win for less than $5 with a "Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar", "Sol Ring", "Colossus Hammer", "Shadowspear", "Lizard Blades", Ardenn and Rograkh combo.

I can't lie that is a concept that piques my interest, now I'm just gonna think about how to break blood forged battleaxe for this archetype. Thank you for watching by the way :)
