And this is the reason why I don't get mad at CIG about new pricing. The endeavor, crucible, and reclaimer are all easily worth twice their current price. The Orion, and Hull D were all sold at half their current price at concept. And dont even get me started on the Carrack and BMM which were a third of their current price.
We need to make a petition to make CIG to start working on this ship or atleast give us some progress information. I bought this ship in 2014, it has now been 10years. And they keep making new ships to put in the Pledge Store, there's 2 somewhat functioning mining ships atm so why not start working on the Orion? Or atleast keep the mining-community updated about it. The information about this ship haven't been updated in quite some time.
Biggest reason was it was like a 70 dollar difference between the arrastra during lti sale to the orion. Looked at that n was like wtf I'll just get the orion.
for weapons, depending if it gets a mining laser or not thats a capital class something grinding those rocks and if it can be used at all on a ship it will be a big hole. for reference i blew up a connie without shields on with a prospector laser in a few seconds. tho i dont know its damage state before hand. capital laser, you dont want to be hit by that.
The game *ought* to have opportunity for creative implementation-- mining, salvage, tractors, even dumping cargo etc should all have the occasional strategic "alternate use". One can hope...
This ship is what I think of when I think of org battles. There's no way an Orion will be able to just munch on asteroids printing money without being attacked by competing organizations. You're gonna need an org backing up the mining operation, no doubt about it.
I would give this an 8 for me. I take a point off for its size and crew requirements and another since it is an old concept that leaves a lot unknown. As a mainly solo player this is just another ship I will never own.
I have a Tycoon pack and I have upgraded every ship except Orion, Reclaimer and Starfarer. Industrial ships are always good moneymakers and Arrastra is next on my list, but Orion is definitely the most anticipated ship for me. Great vid, btw.
Another "ancient" concept. Really love the idea of "There are too many asteroids out the, get out Orions ready" from my org mates. We just need more people to crew all the Orions in the Org - or shoot out whose ship will be used. And yes, got one while it was much cheaper (and smaller) than it is right now.
Id really hope it has a hanger eventually. Or I'm going to need to have one hell of an escort to find the rocks I want. We will probably be way less picky with the Orion. Glad to have it in my fleet LTI. Definitely will bring my crucible and starfarer along with it. All expenses will be very high, must take care of her ourselves
Oooh, one of my favourite ships. You know I'll be pretending it's an OMEGA class Battle Cruiser from Babylon 5. This ship would be a blast supported by a squadron of EMP equipped ANTARES . I'd call it the "EXECUTIONER" as it went from one immobilized enemy fighter to the next, slicing and dicing them with it's massive mining lasers...
Honestly? While id like to save for one ingame, its not flexible enough for me to justify spending real money on when the Arrastra will do GREAT work with a small crew and can also take advantage of more environments such as planetary surfaces thanks to actually being atmospheric flight-capable.
I had a sudden vision of several orgs with a bunch of these getting together some weekend and turning the asteroid belt around Yela into a gravel parking lot.
The Orion intimidates me. I do t know why but if all the big ships it’s the one that makes me feel like it would need a big crew and lots of resources to work properly. Great ship though.
One major aspect to consider before buying one for yourself is "how many does my org have?" More than likely this ship is in your org and the owner needs a crew.
One of the things we take for granted in this game. Turning this ship would probably be like how some ships if you're going at full speed and then you try to stop as quickly as possible and you overshoot your location. Chances are that's how turning this ship will be, you'll overshoot all the time just to turn!
Honestly I like industrial gameplay in SC. Favorite ship is probably the Reclaimer, but this thing is probably the biggest boi in that world. It's like rolling up in ur own mineral refinery.
If you ccu chain they are much more obtainable. It's how I was able to get both of the miners. And the kraken well I just had to cough up the doe, but can't wait till they finally deliver more than a few photos.
My main take from this ship is the importance of crew mainly NPCs it would be best to get the noob NPCs then over time there stats improve but the % you pay them will not I hope. That's why i have F7A LTI to do bounties to pay for them for my Orion LTI. In the end it would all be about how much profit you have left after paying for Crew + Fuel + loading to sell to planet side so I would have to rent a cargo ship till I can buy ingame the biggest planet side cargo ship. Then I will be thinking about base building and land claims.
This is a great ship. I don't believe I will ever own it but I can very much see myself hiring out to work on it. I really hope they get the systems set up to ensure people can get guaranteed payment for completing a player made contact to work on their ship.
Im loving those videos and while i originally wanted to have an orion (mole seemed to small), the arrastra went and shattered any other idea of ships, eventually i thought the orion would be to big of a ship for a small group of players while the arrastra fits just perfect
I've got a CCU sitting for this thing from before a price hike, but I think, industry wise, I'm not gonna end up using this unless I join a full industry org. Or if they add a hangar.
Hi, I have upgraded my hull-c to an orion, thx to that horrible hull-c experience since release. I rly enjoy mining in my prospector, and you can imagine how curious i am for the Orion!
This looks like the ultimate money maker ship and it looks awesome, the game will be amazing when all these ships are released and the game is finally finished.
I love the Orion, but I am still adamant that the Orion would make a great mine laying ship for large scale engagements. It can mine the materials to make mines, process and make those mines, store them and then deploy and monitor with use of drones to repair. At that size, you could deploy on a semi continental scale and add a strong tactical element in siege or delay/defensive situations.
I Enjoy your reviews. I have a BMM, A2, F8C, and few other started ships. I think i'll have to pick one of these up and the endeavor to i have all them goodies non stop to sell. I enjoy those larger skeleton crew ships. Just hope we dont get a distress call LV-426... i ante going
This ship is one I’m still on the fence about, I actually swapped it for the arastra, as that’s more the group size I’ll have, but the idea of just going out and eating all rocks on sight is really really enticing.
Fortunately, I have a friend in our org that has a pledge for this. And personally, I'd rather have an Arrastra --- something manageable with a smaller crew.
This is a ship I don't think we'll see in game for a long time. We need way more systems for a capital miner to be viable without crashing every commodity market in Stanton and Pyro.
only thing keeping me from persuing this ship (besides not getting at the lowest price) is the ship being too large. waiting to see all the capabilities, but knowing the price will only go up is rough.
You’re not the first person I’ve heard express the opinion that the Orion will be the most profitable ship in the game, but what sounds very strange to me about this expectation is that the Kraken Privateer costs 2k. The Orion, even when it increases in price, is unlikely to surpass the thousand-dollar mark. Do you really think the Privateer will make less profit than the Orion? Besides the Privateer, we also have the Pioneer, another industrial ship that costs significantly more than the Orion. I’m not asking this to contest your idea, but I’m genuinely interested in your thoughts on it.
You know you could also ask CIG why they are selling a ship that isn't out yet... Because it sounds like a pre-order to me. Do people review games and try to help people decide on whether they should pre-order the game? I sure wish someone did that for the ships CIG is selling...
i have owned a JPEG of the Orion for over a year
The amount of videos or rather the cadence is insance, impressive my man
The Orion was one of the most underpriced ships in SC history. If it was released today it would be at least $700 if not more
And this is the reason why I don't get mad at CIG about new pricing. The endeavor, crucible, and reclaimer are all easily worth twice their current price. The Orion, and Hull D were all sold at half their current price at concept. And dont even get me started on the Carrack and BMM which were a third of their current price.
I so glad you started making these videos! This is my current favorite CIG related TH-cam material. Your so spot on for so many things!
We need to make a petition to make CIG to start working on this ship or atleast give us some progress information. I bought this ship in 2014, it has now been 10years.

The information about this ship haven't been updated in quite some time.
Another thing to think about is owning the orion basicly guarantees having loaners of every other mining ship in the meantime.

Space light saber babayyy!
The game *ought* to have opportunity for creative implementation-- mining, salvage, tractors, even dumping cargo etc should all have the occasional strategic "alternate use".
One can hope...
You’re the best! First saw the Arrastra one and all your videos are great!
This ship is what I think of when I think of org battles. There's no way an Orion will be able to just munch on asteroids printing money without being attacked by competing organizations. You're gonna need an org backing up the mining operation, no doubt about it.
I think every industrial ship will need protection .

Love your content. Keep up to great work guys!❤

Great video. You have an interesting way to present the material.
Oooh, one of my favourite ships. You know I'll be pretending it's an OMEGA class Battle Cruiser from Babylon 5. This ship would be a blast supported by a squadron of EMP equipped ANTARES

Brought to us by the group that made the Aurora and Constellation? Oh no! The struts!
I had a sudden vision of several orgs with a bunch of these getting together some weekend and turning the asteroid belt around Yela into a gravel parking lot.
Amazing video as always

Can't wait to see the Orion in game. That thing is going to be a beast!
Yeah, I really look forward to running this ship. Holding territory and defending the resources will provide plenty of action.
I was so sure that you'd do the MIB orion's joke!!! 🤣🤣🤣😂👌🏾
Keep them coming!
Thanks for the review!

Amazing all the info you share
Really excited for this ship!
Yeah I can't wait to get my Orion. Maybe one day hopefully before I'm in a retirement home haha
Watched the Polaris and now this video. I bought both. I will soon fly the Polaris and hopefully somewhen also the Orion.
The Orion is going to be very cool. With that said, I don't think I'll go higher than the Arrastra.
I'm very torn on whether to buy it now that I have an Arrasta. gotta save for the Kraken!!
If you ccu chain they are much more obtainable. It's how I was able to get both of the miners. And the kraken well I just had to cough up the doe, but can't wait till they finally deliver more than a few photos.
Looking forward to seeing, and maybe touring the Orion eventually, but it's so massive I can't see ever crewing it, let alone owning it.
Lol love the comment "Ork battle ship" work work.
I've wanted this ship since the Kickstarter days
My main take from this ship is the importance of crew mainly NPCs it would be best to get the noob NPCs then over time there stats improve but the % you pay them will not I hope.
That's why i have F7A LTI to do bounties to pay for them for my Orion LTI.

what a pleasant surprise

You mean never
@@Jasepo lol probably
Orion is on my list, would love to own one.

Bruh, 3 in one day.....My man is on FIRE!!!
I own Orion, x2 Endeavor base, Reclamer,Crucible, Merchantman,Polaris,Starfarer,Starlancer BLD (when its on sale) Prospector and Reliant Sen.))
Ships like this will be cool to see
It is an impressive looking design
These numbers are mind boggling.
1M shields? 10k per second recharge?
I wonder how much it will cost just to fill up the fuel tanks?
This ship is one I’m still on the fence about, I actually swapped it for the arastra, as that’s more the group size I’ll have, but the idea of just going out and eating all rocks on sight is really really enticing.
I opted for the Arrastra, but this does look like a great ship. Reminds me of Blakes 7 and the Liberator 😊
Both are incredible ships!
I think I'm more of an Arrastra guy myself, but this ship is gonna be so sick.
Fortunately, I have a friend in our org that has a pledge for this. And personally, I'd rather have an Arrastra --- something manageable with a smaller crew.
This is a ship I don't think we'll see in game for a long time. We need way more systems for a capital miner to be viable without crashing every commodity market in Stanton and Pyro.
one of my Fav ships
just one thing is it a option to use NPC to run lasers an so on later or is the ship useless for most people that want to play solo???
I really need to learn how to mine
Everytime you talk CCU I realized I messed up bad buying my ships.
There is always time to fix it. Start at IAE! It requires patience though. I started over twice since 2020. I got better each time.
only thing keeping me from persuing this ship (besides not getting at the lowest price) is the ship being too large. waiting to see all the capabilities, but knowing the price will only go up is rough.
This is one of those ships I haven’t really seen anything about before now.
This thing is going to be the biggest moneymaker. As long as CIG dosnt limit the amount of large asteroids around
I expect explorers to sell high yield, high value asteroids locations to Orion owners. Time has value just as much as what you are mining.
Curious to see how the new design language is applied to this one
the orion is a nice ship. but definetly a ingame buy, just to have a ingame goal.
Such a beast ship. But you are big target in this, i think you need some escorts.
You’re not the first person I’ve heard express the opinion that the Orion will be the most profitable ship in the game, but what sounds very strange to me about this expectation is that the Kraken Privateer costs 2k. I cant wait for capital ships to start coming out
This thing is huge! Trying to stop this is going to be fun...lol.
Hopefully the Arrastra and the Orion will be released before i kick the bucket.. lol
If this th thing had a descent hanger it would be an awesome pirate base
Man not sure if I want the arrastra or the Orion, be a long time till a loop is ready for the Orion
I wonder how big this ship will actually be by the time it releases.
The only ship I have never melted
I can imagine taking the Orion into the belt and just staying out there for a week lol
I think this is only going to really be used by large orgs. It's a pirate target w/o support fighters.
Miners dream possibly ❤
Gonna be so cool watching this thing eat asteroids.
I want an Orion so badly :"(
who is this ship for?
its for billionaire njnjas wallet apparently.
The Ironclad has something like 1128? It's gotta hold more than that.
I wont buy this. But I might work in one 😂
I wander how much is it going to be in game
Why are you reviewing a ship that isn't out yet? Wtf
You know you could also ask CIG why they are selling a ship that isn't out yet... Because it sounds like a pre-order to me. Do people review games and try to help people decide on whether they should pre-order the game? I sure wish someone did that for the ships CIG is selling...
Too big for me fam. 7/10
Orion or Arrastra??? I’m guessing Easy answer 180 or 250 million because it can make soo much money and it’s a behemoth.
It's going to be gorges once this ship enters the 'verse.
Munch, munch, munch… eat the universe🤑
Gonna call mine Red Dwarf, lol.
Are any ships going to have like a huge shared shower type situation? This seems like one of the ships that would have this!
I have an Arrastra, so I don't feel a need for this beast.
sadly this ship is not going to look like this when they announce it
Can this ship eat other ships?
cool
Since Sc is forcing u to have a crew in Big Ships, I'm not buying any Since I like to Fly Solo.
So many ships. So few monitos :(
Hey not a bad way to wake up. But I'm starting to wonder if you ever sleep? Lol
