I just posted this on my community on YT. This was so beautiful. I shed a few tears. Specially when you said ' I am sorry I am so late ' That is love right there Stephen.
My god Stephen! As if these races aren’t hard enough, you manage to make these wonderful videos for us to watch whilst you do them ! Thankyou so much 👏👏👏
Hi Stephen, we met on the start line where I asked you for tips on tackling the race. However I think little did we both know we would be shivering and shell shocked in Artenara aid station - I sat in that very seat as you did draped in two space blankets mustering the will to go on eventually managing it after I could feel my fingers again. Congrats on your finish!
Oh man... sorry the weather was this bad. I have never heard of this!!! This was a beautiful video by the way. Loved the music and the photography was pretty spectacular. Wel done. And congratulations on the race! Way to get going when things got so tough
Well done finishing this race having heard from other Finns it was brutal conditions! I'm really enjoying your race videos a lot and I get so inspired looking forward to my own upcoming races; LUT 2022, CCC 2022 and possibly SUP 2022. :) Take care!
I just couldn't bring myself to get the camera out when it was really, really bad. My hands wouldn't work! So there isn't really any footage of the worst weather.
Absolutely phenomenal effort to get that done in those conditions Steven! Well done Sir 👏 Well done to the family too. That 14k stretch looked awkward enough in the light!
Honestly the best coverage of the race this year, truly amazing how you embraced the elements and persevered, 💯 mental and 💯 physical great job and congratulations 🤙🏽
Great video👏. So enjoyable to watch your struggle through the cold, rain and mud - but also some shiny blue sky😊. Congrats on your finish, you´re a real trooper✌
Stephen, just to survive was enough, to finish was truly awesome. Good to see you both at the airport and the start. Really glad you did it. Having now seen what it was like later on I'm glad I didn't have to continue beyond 26.7 miles at CP3 3 where I timed out. I was wet, cold and would have put myself and possibly others in danger had I been carrying on. That mud between CP1 and 2 did me in and the descents between 3 and 4 once everyone else had gone through were quite dangerous. I'm glad you filmed it so it doesn't look like I was making excuses! Once back down off the mountain and in the warmth I felt a lot better. Certainly the hardest marathon I have done. Guess I'll be back next year to try again.
Surely it can’t be that bad again next year. Worse luck it’ll probably be insanely hot instead and we’ll all be dehydrated and suffering heat exposure!!
I was following your videos (love to watch them while riding on my hometrainer). Verry glad to see you did a race report of a race I did to :) Didn't see that storm coming (my weather report said little rain around 8 in the morning :p). At first me and my friend laughed, then we thought we had to finish just because it was an epic edition. Thx to make my memories last longer!
Great video. Really enjoyed watching your race and seeing how much you got out of yourself. Impressive and entertaining. Well done for sticking at it and getting the job done. Awesome.
I’ve just watched this (while walking on the treadmill and it made me feel very lazy 😂). Just wow. I know you mentioned the conditions were bad but that was something else. And you still managed to capture footage while navigating through, and it included mud, lots of it!!! Well done, you make these incredible races (insane distances) look fun.
Amazing video, Stephen. You really caught the essence of the day, the beuatiful island and the race itself. It was great to see you at the airport on the way back, and thanks for your advice re Arc vs Classic. Despite my struggles with Advanced, I think I'll go back and do Classic, probably in a couple of years' time.
Stephen.... OMG... it’s a bit different to Running around Watopia with us. I’m so glad you called out Tina watching it the other day, as it prompted me to look it up. Amazing effort in those conditions, stunning cinematography, incredible to witness. It was emotional to watch to be fair, and I guess there were some dark scenes not in the final cut, but fair play.... no wonder you bagged an award too. I’ll have to watch a few more now 👌
Hi Stephen. Brilliant footage again. See on 8:26 you're wearing your Stryd. What's your experience with it during ultras? How's the battery life and do you see any impact on your CP after these long events? Doing a 50k on Malta in May and am still deciding if I'm going to take my Stryd with me during the race.
To be honest I don't take any notice of it during ultra distances. I may look at the data afterwards and I am usually uninspired by it. I do use power in training sometimes on hilly routes to help manage my effort levels. I also quite like seeing the numbers for fast flat races. But I've never managed to utilise Power as my goto metric.
I was going to start doing an ultra and I started watching your channel, I don't think in any of your clips that you are happy doing any of your runs, your the most negative person iv ever listened to, please cheer up even just for 1 run...
Hahaha, thanks David! I'm afraid it's just true to life. What you see is what you get with me. I'm not going to sugar coat it for you. Ultras are tough. I love them and that's why I keep going back. But the reality is, when you are in the thick of it, it often doesn't feel like fun. That said, when I am enjoying things, it is there on camera.
@@FilmMyRun thanks for your reply, I'm still going to go for an ultra, hopefully we will meet at a run sometime, best of luck in your future ultras and keep up the good work..

Wow! Amazing achievement 💪🏻
Thank you Juliet
Superb footage. And many, many congrats on UTMB. I was cheering you on today at the road pass after Vallorcine. Keep up the good work! 🙏
Congratulations 👍💪👌
Thank you 🙌

We made it the end when so many others didn’t. Superb effort Jason!
@@FilmMyRun Thanks also for your advice in the Arc FB group regarding UTMB stones. If it wasn’t for you, I’d be signing up for the wrong races.
Thanks ! Congratulations !
Thank you David
Good job men and congratulations for your race!! And very good film too.
Thanks Carlos

Funny, I've never been fast enough to see that final section in the light. Must try harder!!

Thanks Michael. Kind of you to say.
Im aiming for 50k+ trial runs next year 🤜🤛 thanks for being here for us and inspiring us all
Good luck with it Konrad. It's the most fun you'll have running.
Great video👏. So enjoyable to watch your struggle through the cold, rain and mud - but also some shiny blue sky😊. Congrats on your finish, you´re a real trooper✌
Cold, rain and mud is simply not what you expect going to Gran Canaria for a race!!
Thank you for tbis . Sharing your experiences with us isva wonderful thing,
You did brilliantly to stick with it through those early conditions. Well done! 👍🏻🏃♂️
Thanks Mark.

Epic. Well done.

Well Done You 😃 well run through all that wind and rain 💨🌧 Awesome video as per usual 👌 one day you may win a running film award 🤞😉

Definitely glad I took the drone with me this year. Thanks Ben
What a absolute legend, not gonna lie even i got emotional watching that, fair play mate and most of all congratulations, unbelievable effort.
I usually cry at the end of these things. I managed to hold it together this time!
Great film. Well done for finishing. You really are an inspiration. I tracked from start to finish. Maybe be one day I’ll be half as good as you!
Thank you so much Venus

And I didn’t even film in the worst of it!! Never seen it so bad. But we made it through so that’s what matters. Thanks Amy
How I love your videos, so emotional , keep it up.
Thank you so much. Sorry for missing this comment earlier.
Well done on completing it !! and in that crazy weather that must have been a real mentally tough test!!
It really was a test of mentality. Would have been very easy to stop at that aid station.
Great!!!!!
It was great apart from the rain and the wind and the elevation and the distance....haha
Thank you, man. Wonderful job.
Apprciate that Ivo, thanks
Awesome run in the woods! Congrats guys!
There are indeed a lot of trees.

We are disappointed not to be there this year but we will be back there one day. Such a good race.
Not only sun and beaches in the island.
Congratulations for your race
Yes now I know!!
Excellent video. I was sure that i see myself here and i did. Absolutely horrible weather indeed.
Haha, we made it! Still having nightmares about that section before Artenara though!

I live in Spain and it does get cold and wet! Great video…..well done….inspirational stuff….I wish I could do it but I’m too old….👍🍷
Never seen it like that before though. It was really hot down by the beach but freezing in the mountains.

Do you use a microphone or is that just the insta 360 camera?
Hi, I do sometimes use a separate mic, but in this instance, sound is directly to the DJI Action 2 camera.
👏👏👏
Thanks Felix

Well done mate.
Thanks Jarek. It was a very bad year for the weather.
Another nice looking race there Stephen, have entries closed yet for 23?
I don’t think entries are even open yet for next year!
