Not one I think we'll ever do but once again you tell a great story of the run, its context , your day and the people around you. We love the historical snippets you put in.
Epic footage of this iconic race, Stephen. Excellent commitment for doing it 10 (no, 9!) times too. This has definitely inspired me to take it on one day, thanks! 🙏
Oh go on Craig, add it to your list and make it another one that I can see you at! ;) (i've signed up for the 10km for next year already, I normally do the half marathon but thought i'd switch things up)
@@nicmarlow6388 No way, you're doing yet another race I'm thinking of doing, what are the odds! 😂 I will certainly look at the marathon distance , looks like an exceptional course for sure
I did this in 2013, and have entered a few times since but its never happened for one reason or another, I have to say Im very tempted having watched this to enter for 2024...but im going give York marathon a really good craic the week before so I best not be too greedy for 2024. All the best, HNY!
Love Beachy! Thanks for the video, and Happy Holidays to you, Victoria and all the family, following your epic couple Centurion Slam year of 2023! Wishing you more great running in 2024!
Great run. I did the half the next day when the weather was much better! Sorta tempted by the full but that last bit over the Seven Sisters nearly finished me off in the half let alone the full distance!!
Oh yes we went back to watch a friend run the half. It was a totally different day. I think if you're tempted by the full, that means you should go for it!
Thanks Sebastian. Yes, if I had thought about it I should have just stopped and waited , but I got in the groove down the hill and couldn't see you when I looked back. I'm sure we will run together again soon.
I walked a lot of this route some years ago and had the same weather on the first 2 days. The second day, I was actually walking in the clouds. It looks like a great marathon, will see if I can add it somehow to my list.
Not gonna lie. I LMAO at this thumbnail when I realized it was yours. But also, nearly scrolled by because the image doesn't represent anyone I typically would follow. 😂
haha, yes I thought I'd get ChatGTP to make my thumbnail and I though it looked pretty good. But it's definitely not what I would have done! Glad you watched even after that! Thank you Debs.
My 4th time and by far the most challenging, the weather in parts was awful. My wife told me she see you and she was the one in the purple coat just before the finish line, she was more happy seeing you than me😂😂 i did it in 4hr 55 which on that day ill take. I didnt see you on the day unfortunately, would of been nice to say hello. Great video and nice memory of the day, roll on next year. 👌
Looks like was a "nice" day for it. I remember trying for the Strava CR up that first climb at the start and nearly passing out with lactic so yeah can see why best to take it easy up there. Shame we can't include it on Power of 10 and runbritainrankings I had a quick look and seems to be organised by the local council which is certainly unusual. Maybe they aren't aware of us? I had a check back and yeah seems never has been licensed as we haven't included anything since 2009 when licensing wasn't really a thing.
Andy you should definitely come down here and run it. I probably need to get my arse in gear and come up to your neck of the woods again soon too. Anything you recommend?
@FilmMyRun We've got a fair few parkruns that would definitely get your approval if you haven't already done them, Mallards Pike, Wyre Forest and Severn Valley Country Park are fun. Racewise they're all much of a muchness - but one local fun one I did last year was the Suckley Quarter marathon - just over 10k of 50/50 Road and trail. Horrific hills, but that's part of the attraction. I'm sure I'll see you one day soon at a start line!
I've been waiting for this one to come out to see if I made the cut and I did (and dear lord I did! 16:45 what do I look like?! to be fair to me tho, it was wet and windy so the change robe was a great idea). Really great video and perfectly sums up the day I'd say! :)
Im not sure I was complaining about it being half a mile short when I made it too exceat and youve got the killer last 10k left :) First beachy for me and slogged it out to take the victory. hopefully its sunny next year so conditions are good for fast times.
Istria 70k, transvulcania ultra, blue trail 70k and then probably a little down time before beachy head. Jump into the unknown for me with these distances but very excited. Not got a clue if I will be able to get around them in a good time but I'm hoping to at least survive 😂

@@runningcafe1 good taste clearly 😉
I love the fact its not quite a marathon-but still my favourite marathon! Great vid
I know. Ridiculous isn't it?! Thanks for watching

Thanks for the memories, I’d just about forgotten about the weather!🤣👊
You and me both Neil!
Love it 😀
I love it too 🥰
Nice video in glorious conditions.. it is a great event
I actually really enjoyed the weather! Didn't enjoy how my legs felt in the final 10K

My first marathon - what an experience - great video
Wow, what a marathon to do as your first! Any road marathon will be easy now!!
Well done pal. You and Vic have had one hell of a year 🎄🎅👏
Yea, it's been good, thank you. Fingers crossed we can stay injury free for 2024. What do you have planned for next year?

Thanks for this great video. That one is definitely high up on my list alongside the ones organised by the coastal trail series.
Impressive video Stephen. It shows well the moods of the weather that day! Just a real shame that we lost each other so quickly!

Great video as always Stephen! Loved my first Beachy Head Marathon, swimming through Alfriston was hilarious, will definitely be back!
So you’ll be back even after the torture of that last 10k!! You’ll know exactly what’s coming next time.

I think you would love it. There are still plenty of walkers. This event began as mainly a walking event.
that's great to know, it takes the pressure off!@@FilmMyRun
Beachy Head was my very first marathon in 2018 and I found it utterly horrendous!!! I am surprised it never put me off running ever again haha
That sounds like a guy who's ready to sign up again for next year! Haha. Thanks for watching. Appreciated.
@@FilmMyRun Maybe the year after haha I've got the Lulworth Cove Marathon in February and then the SDW50 in April to look forward to first 🤢

We should definitely arrange to meet at some point Marc. We seem to do many similar events!
Hopefully cu there steve .doing it this year the ultra
A cross country marathon? Looks kinda fun. What shoes did you run in?

I have emailed the council about it a number of times and had a phone conversation a few years back. They’ve never bothered to licence.
@@FilmMyRun sadly it can be a bit of a free for all. Maybe some just see it as an unnecessary expense. Looks like still a decent race.
Great work - it looks like a monster of a race, would love to try it one day. Is it always on a Saturday?
