Really glad you’re enjoying the videos. Yeah, injuries are a killer. We need to learn the lessons they teach us, make peace with the recovery process, and focus on being even stronger in the future. The very best of luck with your recovery….and your ultra
Beat you by 5 mins. Really inspiring to see your struggling before the race with injury. I had also problems with my thights and after 500m at the beach was planning to call it out. I didnt but was most misarable day of my life. Specially at artenara had the same. Was feeling fine until noticed im borderline hypothermic. Nordic walking rest of the race. Maybe next year we do better ;D
Great job Leberborn👍. It was a day for fighting the demons in your head as much as fighting the crazy weather that was all around. The fact you picked yourself up and got out of Artanara took real grit…take it from someone who knows 😀
Thanks again Emlyn, and thanks for checking out my back catalogue 😊 No joke, getting going again at that halfway point in the TransGranCanaria was that toughest thing I ever did in a race. You can see me trying to figure out how I will be able to go through it all again. Very proud of that finish.
Dave the word only should never appear in a sentence with the word 60k. Have you done or plan to do the transvulcania on la palma. I look at it on you tube only but love to follow it. I'm sure your perspective would be entertaining. Love your videos, from a yellow belly parkrunner.
Yeah, I would lo run the Transvulcania. It’s only 72km 😂😂😂. I messed up really because UTMB promised me double stones for any of their races I do this year and unfortunately it appears I will not be doing any. Transvulcania would have earned me 6 stones but the timing didn’t work out. I’ll get there eventually. And hey, I started with 5k’s so be careful, it’s a slippery slope 😝
Wow what a wonderful watch, grind it out you sure did , lay here watching this Parkrun in the morning if I feel a tiny bit tired I will think of this
Thanks Alan, yeah, some days are tougher than others. Getting out of that halfway point was a real challenge
Haha funny we did the same race!! Well done on digging it out. Good channel name!!
Well done you. Yes, we had a very similar experience. It was tough but all the sweeter then to finally cross that finish line.
Loving your videos! Serving as great motivation for my training towards my first ultra of 2022 after the worst luck with injuries.

Great video Dave, I really enjoyed watching it. It looks like a very tough race, especially in those conditions.
Yep conditions and my own training caught me in the end but couldn't have been happier to cross that finish line. Thanks for the support.
I felt that!…..what an effort. Well done 👍🍷

Super Vid... and well done on run
Thanks Aubrey, don’t tell anyone but that was the toughest race of my year. Hopefully UTCT won’t change that ranking in a few weeks 🙏

Amazing effort and a great video.
Thanks Alex, getting going again after the halfway point was the toughest job I’ve ever had in a race. Glad you enjoyed it.
Congrats on finishing the race! That was a difficult one! 💪
Thanks Alex, it sure was. It thought me quite a few lessons. So happy to finally cross that finish line.
Love the hot water bottle idea - well done Dave
Thanks Stephen. There were so many lessons learned over the 126km but that one is right up there on the top of the list 😀
Well done Dave 👏.
Thanks Mark. Only feel fully recovered this week. Now on to the next challenge.
