Loved this game when I was like 10? The grim atmosphere was particularly memorable. At that age I found it to be a bit confusing and probably didn't get too far.
Oh, no worries - it does get confusing. But not necessarily because of the level design in itself, but rather because of how devious the designer was. There are at least three instances off the top of my head that require to figure out breakable wall secrets to continue.
In order to get across the door I needed do go down the shaft covered with plasma turrets that activate after I hit the switch to open the doors up there. The turrets are timed to create a very specific and incredibly tight cascade of fire, that if it hits you has a good chance of stunning and throwing you off. Jumping from turret to turret is the only way to return to the doors. At the same time after set number of seconds, the wall crack spills out a horde missile mutants, but that's mostly a distraction - I have painfully found out that if you try to take it slow an easy to figure out the very fucking tight timing, you are just fucked, because once the cascading fire starts to go, it will immediately return upon reaching the top - it's the initial few seconds of delay before the shitshow begins that you have to utilize maximally to get back to the save station level and the door you aim to open. This fucking game is fucking full of this kind of cock and ball torture like bullshit and whoever designed these levels knew EXACTLY what they were doing, I'm pretty sure they masturbated to the thought of the suffering they would cause for years to come too.
i've been going through this game since someone made a homebrewed Wii port, and all i can say is... it's fun, but damn is it tense! i've never been bombarded so hard for wanting to run back and save, thinking i had cleared out every enemy and then the game just says "NO! FUCK YOU, YOU DIE!"

I have no idea of the context for this. But hot dam did it look painful.

So it turns out, in the end, the solution was to git gud? :)
This time?
Yes.
Is it a universal rule for this game?
Fucking fuck no.

@@alexdsuper1337 This game is called abuse for a fucking reason. Holy shit.
I've beaten it, but it was exhausting at the end of all.
@@alexdsuper1337 also correction - originally gave up later on a very similar Saw grade puzzle... except that one involved *rocket* turrets. FFFUU-!!!
