Yeah, this game has some good art direction and aesthetic. If not for models of characters and animations, I would say it looks really fucking good for 2003.

I was tempted with both Furry Road and Max Payne jokes. Also resisted the Morbin Time joke in one place. But that's because it wouldn't fit at bloody all there.
Chrome... it's my most nostalgic game, I remember when I was playing this as a kid, then few years later I've played Chrome too, and I will always love this game. Sadly it got removed from steam, I would buy it to play it again.
Had a lot of nostalgia for it too alright. But... I can kinda see why it didn't catch on ya know? Which is a shame, but it is how it is. Being good never had been enough in this industry I think.
Only way I can imagine this game to work normally, I think, would be assembling Windows XP computer from garbage bin components. Then you won't have compatibility errors to blame for game not working correctly. It will be the game's fault! I found this video being very entertaining. Funny that I even was partially able to understand Polish voice without knowing the language, but I guess it comes with living in Poland's eastern neighbourhood. Well, from one that's friendly and provides STALKER at least.

Definetely feels now its own aprroach... kinda nostalgic but with a mix of guilty pleasure I guess. It was funny, informative, downright hillarious And yet, sadly, it also feels...which would I call it?...Overworked, I guess?...Job well done but you definetely need some more recognition, thats for sure...so yeah, I wish I could support you more but alas I am too, from a slavic country with greedy government :3

idk, I felt like the second half of Chrome had more going for it in terms of story, at least its contents. all the villains are introduced *then*, Dexon comes back, the big reveal happens, and all that race against time near the end with the Iceguard labs and the dam, I thought it was pretty cool, even if I don't particularily like the mission where you destroy the nanovirus
To be fair, that is a respectable opinion. To me, I prefer the pre-SPACON massacre half of the game, because it has more of this chemistry between the leads, Carrie and Logan. And I like the duo actually trying to carve out a niche for themselves in Valkyria. It's later when, sure - the plot finds its focus around Logan's blind pursuit of Pointer, but like... I don't know, I'm just not that gripped I guess. As for the nanovirus mission... I take you mean the one where it's revealed what CoreTech's plan ACTUALLY is, right? The one where Nicole saves your arse? And with that aside - I hope you enjoyed the review, even if we don't agree. I would encourage you to stay for more, but this year is so fucky I can't promise when the next one will be - case in point, They Are Billions review taking at face value 4 fucking months...

I enjoyed the whole review, I have never seen an hour long video on Chrome that wouldn't be a playthrough, so that's precious to see, especially since you clearly know a lot about the game's world. in fact, I wish you could keep talking, and that's why I brought up the second half. I really love the radio transmission lore dump during the game's opening credits as well, (I commented my full opinion about it under the soundtrack from that scene somewhere on youtube) by the way, since I mentioned the two bad gals, it's kind of funny how they are never name dropped in the game's story, Zetrox lady's name can be seen in the game's message log window (Ming Tse), while Core Tech's CEO lady is only named in the game's editor, and, I assume, game files too (it's Anna van Dyke, or Eva, I can't remember, but I roll with Anna)

Which btw, man, I love when the older games release WITHOUT cleaning or obscuring obsolete assets. xd there is a LOT of unused textures and weird shit from clearly ancient version in the files. Actually, I like when devs dont obscure the assets in general - it's always so mucj better to use actual in game assets in my vids... As for Logan's character - mind a single caveat: I'm autistic. So that analysis is by definition dodgy, as I'm VERY bad with people's skills. I cut that video "short" for a reason: when producing a vid takes too long that takes a massive toll on my psyche. Thats an explanation why I cut the thing short, but I'm glad to hear that video was apparently this good. ^^ And I didnt expect to such someone this passionate about such an extremely obscure title, not gonna lie. ^^
@@Schwalbe1728 I remember seeing textures for older loading screens (for example calling the Hannibals something like "brutals") and what I think were in-universe ads with that cyborg lady on them. to be honest, if everyone in the world of chrome were cyborgs with metal faces, the uncanny valley quality wouldn't be a problem :P also, I recall in some pre-release material they used a model of an m4 or m16 for CAFS, which was a little funny to me thanks btw, I'm glad to come off as passionate about this game to someone who obviously is even more passionate about it themselves. Chrome has been a passion of mine for more than 12 years now, I liked SpecForce, but it's the original game that really made me fall in love. if I could, I would totally invest time and money into directing a remake of both games, as well as restoring work on the sequel
Like most game reviews I watch I go in completely blind and am even hesitant at times. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised both content and comedy wise. Will definitely be looking out for future videos

the polish VA for Logan was iconic, dare I say. he had a unique and recognizable voice and some of Logan's lines kind of slapped
