Thx for posting. I only need to replace/upgrade the charger side.... and am scheming on how to do that without disturbing the airshaft side... AND also not even removing the fork from the bike!! lol... wish me luck!
Can you help me finding that upgrade!?!? Here in the UNITED States there are none and the only one I have found are in Europe but they don't ship that specific upgrade to the United States.I need some with some address in Europe that can send it over here to USA
I finally scored one (oregon) they are starting to trickle in, put your name on as many waitlists as you dare and hit BUY as soon as that email comes in. My retailer sold out in 30 minutes
The fork became very sensitive also at small bumps. The very big improvement is the ability to absorbe shocks in rapid sequence. In addition the fork is more sustained at mid travel. i installed 2 tokens, bye.
One should do a lowers service since the fork is off, but do you actually need to take the lower off to just install the damper upgrade? It only attaches at the top and bottom as I recall.
Yes you can do it without remove the lowers, in this case i replaced the lower's legs oil bath and i cleaned the wiper and i put new oil in the sponges under the wiper. That's the reason i opened the fork.
Hey, nice video. Wondering if there is a gasket under the LSC dial? Had problem with mud and water getting down to the HSC and LSC dial. This makes the dials get stuck.
What is the tool you use to loosen, remove and tighten the cartridge? the new cartridge already has the hydraulic oil inside? I see that only the greasing is done.
I have done the exact upgrade to my zeb r.... it’s a 170mm travel on a commencal meta 29, and I have to say it climbs very well... I feel it’s better than a lyric everywhere but that’s just me
@@Dirtsurfing how did the meta feel with the charger r. Does the charger r have any adjustments. I’m waiting on my meta am to arrive. I bought the ride build. I hope I like it.
When I installed the two cartridges I didn't have to bleed them, but on one of the two cartdrisged the piston loosened in a short time so I had to disassemble the cartridge, tighten the piston and then bleed it. the "air squish" sound was due to the loosened piston.
I have the ZEB Select, where did you buy the damper seperately? And also is it reall much different, I think the Select is actually quite good damping.
@@dank6761 I never try ZEB with SELECT dumper, I think the charger 2.1 RC2 is the best option if you have 180mm travel forks and you like descend. In the past i had the RC dumper similar to the actual SELECT and the difference with RC2 is remarkable.

Hey, i´ve install the charger 2.1 RC2 too. Now i have a problem, when my Fork is pushing hard in the last 30 % of Travel, i hear a little crack. Do you know where it come from or whats the problem? I have the same Fork like you with the same Bike ;) cheers
GREAT VIDEO!! If the fork is new/ newish Sram says this can be done without removing the lowers. Has anyone tried that? I think its because you do not need to remove the C-ring to remove or install the damper on this model?

Nice packaging. Much better than Fox. My Fox Grip 2 damper came in an oil soaked plastic bag.
Hi, thanks for the video. check how many ml of oil does it take per bottle?
Super video ! Thanks.
Really thanks! Hope it will be usefull!

yes it's possible!!Pay attention.Don't unscrew the hydraulics before having unscrewed the bottom screw sleeves.
@ridermatt1 indeed! Thanks bro! \o/
Hi, did you forget to put oil on the other leg? How much oil needed to inject for both legs?
20 ml each legs

I used a tool made by CNC. Also the new cartridge is sealed and for sure have oil inside. The new cartridge come purged and is ready to be installed.
@@ridermatt1 and where can this tool be obtained? I'm thinking of making this change in the fork like you
@@ManzyxTrivesI designed the tool and a friend of mine made it for me. However I think rockshox produces it

How your experience been with climbing ? I've heard good things about the descending but nothing about climbing
The ransom has very modern geometries. The seat tube is vertical and the bike is long, so the bike climbs very well.

@@pancho650r it's 11 months late so you probably already know the answer. if for some reason you don't, it only has rebound adjustment.
Did you have to bleed yours when it was new. The last one I installed makes that "air squish" sound when you compress the fork hard.

How much was the upgrade?
The cartridge price is about 300€
And from your experience, is that upgrade a good thing??
Yes , is a very big improvement on how the forks works. Really nice small bumps sensivity and big impact too.

And what is your feedback regarding Scott ransom eride 920? Is the 180 mm travel not too much for Enduro??
@@remiroudier7683 The Ransom geometry is more than enduro bike.
The frame is more rigid than a traditional enduro mtb so the 180mm fit very well
If you dont have to do a lower service. You can just remove the old charger and install the new one without removing lower leg……. Just saying…

How much Oil must be fill in?
The cartdridge need to be full filled, the lower logs must be fill with 20 cc oil each side.
