This is perfect! I have been trying to find a video or picture of a truck that had this lift without the rear blocks added. I’m definitely doing my truck like this! Thank you
I really like my Rough Country 3.5 Suspension Lift I recently had installed on my 2022 Silverado Custom 4X4, I made sure that they installed the blocks in the rear which they should have done on your install. I like your year of truck it looks really sharp.
Thanks for the video I recently purchased a 2016 gmc Sierra and it came with 2” leveling and 35x12.50r20 but was rubbing a bit so since I didn’t want to do a lift yet so I got smaller tires for now but I do want to get a 3.5” but I hesitate due to messing up the smith ride.
Yes after it settled I did get rub. Took it back to the installation guys and they fixed it. Mostly rubbed on left front turning hard left. No rub at all now.
so when i was looking at this kit for the 2018 Silverado its says that you have to cut the bump stops off the frame for the upper control arms. the fact that you are running fine with them still intact is making me reconsider this kit with the vertex struts and shocks
The truck is actually level. That is what I was going for. There is no squatting at all. I am not a fan of a factory rake. The block would put the rake close to factory again.
@@chrissmith397 the block would make it level. Factory block is like 1 1/4 inches and you put on a 3 1/2 lift. The new block is designed to make it level. I put a 3in on mine it's about a 1/4 lower in front but looks way better than low like yours. Measure the rocker not the fenders.
I guess to keep the truck level. I have always disliked the look of a truck with the nose down. This truck was perfectly level without the rear blocks being changed from stock.
Bad ass truck..i like it and the way the front looks higher ...i got 2.5. On mine...but i thought it was going to look like urs...i want to upgrade to 3.5 but not sure if it will look nice on 33s.
Thanks I appreciate it. The truck is actually level. It has settled a bit and the video doesn't realy show that. I think 33's with an aggressive tread would be fine on your truck. I'm loving my setup.
I like your video and you've got yourself one nice looking truck right there, but honestly speaking you need to lift the pants of your truck up bit by at least 2 -3 in., so that it doesn't look like you're hauling a fifth wheel. Just my thoughts from some guy out on the internet, so go with what you like and thanks again for the honest review.
Guapo hernandez they rubbed from the start. The guys that installed them removed some of the plastic wheel well liner. I didn’t know and wasn’t told. Should have guessed that’s what was done.
Guapo hernandez no rubbing either way. The clearance at full turn both directions was maybe a finger width between tire and fender well. No scrubbing though even on bumps.
Actually I'm liking the look. It seems the front has settled a bit and the truck looks more level now. I was going for the level look. Thanks for watching.
I believe the reason they didn’t put the rear block in is because after the lift in the front it was leveled out and if you put the 3” block in the back it would have rake
Currently getting 16 mpg. I also bought a tuner and that has helped correct my spedo as well as performance on 87 octane. The 16 was before the tuner. I should average more with the recent tune but too soon to tell.
@@dawsonedge7333 sure will. So far slight difference in shift pattern as well as faster pickup speed. I adjusted the throttle response to get rid of the squishy factory response. So far over last 50 miles today I've picked up from 16 to 17.3 mpg. I'll let you know over the next week if mpg changes.

I’m glad I found this. I put the 3.5 “ lift on my truck and it has more of a rake than the factory did. I’m taking the rear blocks back out . 👍

Good deal man. I just ordered this for my 18. With 295/60/20.
brad burns any pics?
Any rubbing with that size tire?

My factory skid plate went back on with some minor cutting
Looks great, guy!
How do you like the lift as time has went by? Is it holding up well?
Very nice, I’m debating on 3.5-5in
Does it still have plenty of power with 35s
What is the height from the ground to the driver door handle and what is the height from ground to bed rail in line with back tire ???
I have bought this kit for my 2014 Silverado. Sold it now I’m left with the kit. I was wondering if this kit would fit on my 2017 GMC Sierra
Says it should on the rough country web site. Look it up for the exact lift you purchased and see. Good luck.
Need a 2 inch rear block

Why didn't they use the rear blocks?

That is sharp!
Did you ever install the blocks? It's really easy.
What’s your mpg after the 3.5

Can you do me a favor and measure from the ground to the wheel well fender?
I’m curious how much it would lift with the tires too.
FBCBEER I don’t have the truck anymore. Bought a boat and needed more truck to pull it lol. Sorry man. I would if I had it.
What truck did you end up purchasing for towing?
What 3.5 lift? There are two options I’m not sure which to choose
Lol just seen after watching the whole video, either a spacer lift or longer front strut lift
Were you able to get the factory skid plate back on after they installed this?
No it would not go back on. Rough country adds a skid plate in the kit. It's not as big as factory skid plate but it protects the important stuff.
Southern Stuff it mainly just protects the differential.
@ChrisSmith so are the rear blocks just the same stock factory blocks?
Yes they are factory blocks. Keeps it level.
@@chrissmith397 by any chance do you know what size those rear blocks are? Maybe 2inch blocks?
Is it the diablo predator 2 tuner you got? Thats all I can find for diablo 2.
Yes it is. Predator 2.
Did they have to install any kind of wheel spacers to fit the factory wheels?
No
Did yours come with a .25 inch wheel spacer for the front?
They should've put the rear blocks in the back

Nice truck.
Thank you. I'm liking it.
Does it affect your ride quality?
No it felt pretty normal. Felt like a real truck afterwards. I liked the ride. A little stiffer but not so much you couldn’t drink your coffee.
Did you had to adjust your lights or headlights ?
Yes I did. Simple and easy. Took a couple tries to dial it in.
@@chrissmith397 by any chance do know if u had to cut the crossmember and shave off fins on the differential?
Is the wholesale you went to the one in higgston or statesboro
Wholesale Customs in Statesboro
Statesboro
How did you fit the 35s ? Without rubbing?

Chris Smith No rubbing after that at full lock or backing up?
Guapo hernandez no rubbing either way. The clearance at full turn both directions was maybe a finger width between tire and fender well. No scrubbing though even on bumps.
Thats not a rough country suspension looks factory. Looks like they put spacers on the front and called it a day.
Do you still have this truck?
No. I bought a big boat and needed more truck to pull it. Great truck though.
Looks great
It looks lower from the back
They definitely didn’t put your rear blocks in, I’d be taking it back if I were you......

Exactly what I'm thinking. I wanted the level look so they achieved that in my book.
Gas mileage average?

Thanks for the information and could you tell me what it goes to after a while and also if there was a power difference

Hey man I forgot to ask how much is highway driving and how much is city driving
