I just bought these and was hoping for someone who also tows for some ratings on them, and YOU DELIVERED!!!! Thank you so much and mad respect, love the truck brother!
Thanks for watching the video and always appreciate the comments. Reach out anytime on TH-cam or my Instagram (@coleeades) if you have any more questions about it.
I blew out the seals and bumpstops on my first set in a year and half. Rough country replaced them with a few pics. Still have my old set with the coils pulled off and the bearings out. One day ill pull them apart to see whats all inside.
I did 2in vertex front and rear with zone off-road UCAs on my 17 F150. Running 295/70/17 with -12 offset without any rubbing even at full flex with 1 tire off the ground. CV are still good and with the UCAs ball joints are perfect. Don’t know first hand but looking at mine if you went to the 3 inch CVs will be at too much of an angle. I ended up with 2.5 inch from the coilovers when said and done. Will note I live in Northern Michigan and after 2 years I’m having rust on the springs and some discoloration on the struts and shocks. They are definitely not a long travel suspension and I don’t think they would compete with something like the Fox dcs but I’d give them an 7 out of 10 and would buy again.
It looks like there is some cupping on the outside tread on those front tires. Id look into that if I were you. You might be running then too soft on the street. It also looks like you have a little positive camber.
Pretty positive you are right, experimented with a slightly lower psi this summer since I was on and off the road so often. But went back up a bit once I noticed the tread wear.
Im getting roush 2.0 fox shocks front amd rear was able to fit 35” x12.50 17 with out a lift i just add a raptor bumper and removed crash bars and they fit perfectly with out any lift no rubbing at all full turn this fox body will give me a raptor level and is only 1800$
Did you use the rear block that came with the kit?? I like the way your truck is sitting with the “raptor squat”. The other videos and pictures I’ve seen of this kit makes it look like the front is lower than the rear which I don’t like.
Fairly sure you're in the same FB group with me. I just installed the Eibach on my truck and lifted it the full 3in and just bought the new Hooke Road bumper thats similar to what you have. Love the look of that bumper with the 3in lift. Cant wait to get the bumper shipped and installed.
Appreciate you making this video on these coilovers. I’ve been looking for this type of feedback specifically. I just recently installed the icon 2.5 coilovers on my 2023 F150 and I find them to be too stiff. Gonna be ordering these tomorrow!
Absolutely. I just watched your vid again. Great info. Got the coilovers the other day and going to throw them on here in a few. I’m already kind of convinced the Vertex’s are going to probably be what I’m looking for. Their adjustment range seems to be more suited for everyday stuff like commuting, towing and off roading. With the Icons their 1 setting is too firm. Like old school E39, E46 and E60 BMW M Sport suspension. That type of firmness should be a little higher in the adjustment range. 1 should be soft and pillowy (trophy like ish) and 8 should challenge your disk integrity in your back lol. I come from many years of racing and having to spec out, build and tune suspension…especially coilovers. Now that I’m on the truck side it’s easy to see how the suspension companies are taking advantage of truck guys (insert favorite trophy truck montage cycling the hell out of that suspension here). We ALL love it and want it. But there’s nothing about my Stage 4 Icon 2.5 coilovers that justifies $5k…nothing. I knew that before I purchased and confirmed it after owning them for a few thousand miles. So yeah I’m very hopeful for Rough Country and these Vertex’s. Great work again on this video! Thank you for sharing.
@Cole Eades, How does it drive just going down the road? I have a 2023 Powerboost F150 and installed the Billstein 6112/5160 combo. Due to the extra weight of the Powerboost, it was recommended that I set the 6112 on the highest clip to achieve 2" of lift, however, it rides like crap. Curious if this RC Vertex on a 1 or 2 setting is fairly compliant and comfortable just cruising around?
Personally I found that it rides much better on the road with the RC Vertex system than when I just had a leveling kit on it. The vertex shocks are so beefy so I get zero body roll and it sucks up the bumps/potholes very well.
I have a 3” lift for starters but I’ve had friends run 35” on a leveling kit. Just have to cut out the crash bars with a sawzall/grinder and then do some other mild trimming behind the front wheel with a grinder.
I dont know why people call the rough country vertex shocks budget shocks. Its actually kinda comical. It has more adjustment than some of the big brands external resevoirs. Youre just paying for a name. I know the other brands have adjustable external resevoir shocks too, you're just going to pay twice as much for the same thing.
Be careful with your rear Reservoir’s I have the same ones 3.5 and if you put too much weight we will blow the oil out of the rings around the back shock happened to me luckily there’s three year warranty on them And let’s clarify there was no more than 1000 pounds
No lift kit is. I don’t care what brand. You need a true long travel which is BIG $$$$$ and there’s no going back from it. Just the components can be over $10k and it’s not something billy bobs 4X4 shop can do
I'm well aware, just a creative title idea. It truly is incredible suspension for the price. But no lift kit would actually perform like a tuned suspension built for a baja truck.
I just bought these and was hoping for someone who also tows for some ratings on them, and YOU DELIVERED!!!! Thank you so much and mad respect, love the truck brother!

Been hoping you'd make a video on this lift kit! Glad you like it. Looking to get me one this year

Great review. Really got a lot of info that I was looking for in regards to an overland application so thank you for that.
Appreciate you watching the video 👍
That cv angle at @3:28 looks wicked. Do they bind up when going into 4WD?
No issues yet
@@coleeades thank you, I bought some eibach coil-overs that I’m going to set at 3”. Was afraid that it would beat my CV’s up.

Yes. As far as I understand the shop I had do the install used everything

Yup, it’s a great group. Ya that will look great!
Nice review! Will be getting some Vertex for my Bronco very soon!
Thanks for watching!
Adjusting the damping on the shocks doesnt keep the truck from squatting with a load or towing.
I also smash jumps with mine all the time takes a good beating well broken in
I have them on a 2018 GMC sierra single cab long box 2 Wheel Dr.
Heck ya!
You have these on your single cab? I haven’t found any info or anyone with lift coilovers on a single cab. Smh. I’m looking to do the same!

Any issues so far with the CV angles? Can you make a video showing the CV actual angles ?

How’s your cv holding up so far? Sooo on the fence of returning for a 4" lift kit
No issues yet
What wheels and offset are you running? More specifically rim dia and width as well as offset? Thank you 🤙🏼
17” Fuel Militia wheels with 35” Falken Wildpeak tires that are 12.5 wide. The wheels don’t have any offset
how did you fit 35s did you have to trim or did they just fit right in with no rubbing? i’m wanting to do the exact setup
I have a 3” lift for starters but I’ve had friends run 35” on a leveling kit.
Just have to cut out the crash bars with a sawzall/grinder and then do some other mild trimming behind the front wheel with a grinder.
I’d that cupping on the outside of your front tires??
Awesome
How are these holding up?
Great still. Pretty impressive for the money. But as alway's time will tell.

What tire size are you running?
35”
@@coleeades whats the tire size?
@@Lukeo2412 315/70R17
@@coleeades any rubbing?
@@Lukeo2412 no rubbing at all, but that’s with a 3” lift, cut crash bars and other basic wheel well trimming
Im more impressed with your knees not blowing out squatting down that long 😂

nothing from RC is remotely close to baja suspension

I want Icon on my f150, but my wallet says rough country😂 also my truck has 176k on it. Don’t want to dump to much money into it
Ya I wanted a Raptor R but my wallet said F150 with Rough Country! 😂
