  • In this video Karen Eckmeier is a guest of Sheryl Borden, the host and producer of the PBS KENW-tv3 show “Creative Living” demonstrating her topstitch piecing technique of cutting, pressing and layering fabric strips to create a little beach scene “accidentally.”
For more detailed instructions and more landscapes ideas, refer to either the pattern Beaches or the book Accidental Landscapes on Karen’s website: www.kareneckmeier.com.

Karen has a wonderful channel. I subscribed a long time ago. She makes everything seem possible even for us non-quilters, and her delivery is excellent.

If I wanted to attach my accidental landscape to backing board to frame it do you use fabric glue or double sided tape? I would love to try this thank you so much for sharing your art!

Thank you Alison! I use a linen tape to secure my landscapes to the mat board before framing. Any brand will work.

@@karen.eckmeier thank you so much for replying! I'll check it out and have a go. I was thinking of trying a landscape then hand embroidering it. Your art pieces are beautiful. Thank you for the help and inspiration.
