  • Learn landscape quilting using this simplistic approach & easy techniques. Nancy and her quilting mentor Natalie Sewell streamline the landscape quilting process using a beginner’s perspective. Learn to use inspirational photos, choose fabric, and master messy & fussy cutting techniques. Create trees easily with raw-edge appliqué techniques & give them dimension with fabric markers or oil pastels.

This is wonderful to see, I used to buy some quilting fabrics from Nancy’s notions site before she died. So sad they both died rather young. They left us a legacy of their love for fabrics and fabric arts! I’ve been doing shading on all of my appliqué work because it makes them all so much richer even with a little batting to help puff them out. The batting can be added to the back during the FMQ stitching, trimmed away after stitching. Then sandwiched again for the final quilting. The plain variegated fabrics they show here are Great examples, very similar to what I have already used. I draw some of my birds and such using a light box then stitch them in place. I love the birch tree examples better than what I’ve done but it’s comparable!
    Thanks for the video!

Oh...!!! That was such a special introduction story! So sweet! It is joyful to hear of how good friends got together! I am wondering if Natalee Sewell sold kits at a quilt show that I went to either in Asheville, NC or else in Pidgeon Forge,TN,( where I bought 4 kits) from her and one with a horse! I have 2 more kits to finish of hers.
