    ►Final Fantasy X Lightning Bolt Guide
    • Best technique to dodg...
    Mini-Games have become a staple of the Final Fantasy franchise ever since Final Fantasy 7, but while some have enriched the experience... others have made the experience rather painful and punishing!
    Quite often, these painful and punishing mini-games have been associated with acquiring some of the game's ultimate prizes, like Ultimate Weapons and very rare items... while others have lulled gamers into thinking there were riches, only to deliver nothing more than bragging rights.

      Retro Hanska I’d say its from growing up in different eras. When your parents were kids, that’s what they did. They played outside with their friends and could t relate to the fact that you’re the opposite of that. But at least they realized that when they did, rather than keep pushing you outside and forcing you to do things you’re not entirely comfortable with. Which is what a lot of parents would do

      I feel bad for console players. I was using moguri mod which included a tool called memoria. With that, you could change various attributes of random stuff. The jump rope was one of those. Using that, I made every jump I did count as 20 or 50 I forgot. So I ended up getting it way way easier than if I tried legit. That 8388607 limit for jump rope is pretty bizarre, since they must have used a signed 24 bit (3 byte) int. That's pretty rare in programming, as most ints are 1, 2, 4 or 8 bytes.

      The butterflies had a set position whereas the balloons appeared randomly. Meaning you can actually get better at the game over time. For the chocobo catcher you can get better at controlling the chocobo but you still require luck when it comes to balloon position. This means the learning curve is still there but the luck component is not there in the butterfly challenge. Yes they're both frustrating but its your own fault if you fail the butterfly game but not always your fault if you fail the chocobo catcher game.

      With the guaranteed lightning strike exploit, it really isnt that bad once you get in a groove, and like others have said you can always pause and take a break. Really, the only hard challenges IMO are the Butterflies and the Chocobo Race, and those are mostly due to camera angles and controls. Every other sigil is just a time investment, some may be more annoying than others, but you *will* get them eventually.

      the chocobo races in ff7 have something i consider a cheat which makes it much easier that i didn't know about for years. if you hold in a button (don't remember what button), it regenerates your stamina quite quickly. you just basically hold that button in the entire race and you can sprint far more frequently than normal.

    X is like the devil of mini games. I haven't played all of the Final Fantasies, but with the ones that I have played. X takes the cake for the hardest mini games. Like the temple puzzles, chocobo catcher and racer, the butterfly catching game, gosh I could go on. The lightning tower calibration in X-2 was so hard. I haven't even completed the quest at all I've always thought that the mini games in XIII-2 were hard, but after playing X. I think I have some anxiety with some of the X ones.

    All things considered, I'd say that dodging lightning bolts was one of the easier mini games in FFX. Tedious, but doable

    • @rpproductions6241
      @rpproductions6241 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheSarste It really wasn’t hard if you had the right setting. I turn the lights out, stay near a tower, and just run back after every 20 or so for a break on my eyes. ✌️

      I agree. Blitzball and Chocobo racing, not to mention the Monster Arena are way more tedious.

    • @rpproductions6241
      @rpproductions6241 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jerry Smith You just gotta give yourself a break now and again under a tower. And what I did was every time I dodged 20, I went to the tower and wrote down how many I dodged, then added another ten or so to the count just to be safe.

    • @cinderburn2660
      @cinderburn2660 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it wasn't really that hard mechanically, its only hard for those too lazy to count properly or do another 10 dodges to be sure. If in doubt, do another 10.

      @@MiniJodaTV once you get the jecht shot, blitzball becomes almost boringly easy. and you get the jecht shot very early as long as you don't screw up the flashback minigame of jetch doing it.

    Yeah, I cheesed King of Jump Rope myself using the PC remote play method and feel no shame. It was an unfair trophy and every other trophy/achievement I attained authentically.
    Also so glad Catcher Chocobo was mentioned over the lightning dodging. The dodging is just tedious but Catcher is an absolute nightmare. It doesn't help that the courses are randomised. In the end, it takes luck and perseverance.

    On FF9's PC remaster, the jumprope mini-game has an easier cheese. Mouse over the exclamation mark and activate an autoclicker. This is actually not fool proof, since the game sometimes fails to acknowledge some super fast clicks. You would need to tweek the intervals to allow the game recognize the clicks and hopefully, 7 minutes later, 1000 jumps.

    Catcher Chocobo didn't really give me any trouble in the HD Remaster, I literally got the Sigil after only 3 attempts, that stupid butterfly catching was much more annoying made even worse by the fact that I never even use Kimahri.

    Hello. I'm a bit late to the party, but never would have imagined that my 12 years old video would be featured in this at 8:43. I sure was surprised. I tried Hippaul lvl 100 (I still have the same save file) with my PS3 controller after watching this video and beat him in first try. It's not really that hard if you can tap your fingers fast enough. The only gimmick you need is to keep your controller in place.

    • @jamesontucker1812
      @jamesontucker1812 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just recently finished FFIX on GamePass and the Hippaul mini game was one of the easiest I've ever done. I never even came close to losing a single race, and it wasn't until level 75 that I wasn't able to increase his level by 5 after every race. I just used two thumbs, left on X, right on B, and just rocked the controller between them and Hippaul never even got close to me.

      @@jimmartin516655 well yes, but you need to get the butterflies in time, and running into a red delays it by a second. Really the 2nd one is the problem. First you have to go back to get a butterfly,get the other butterflies and at the end, you have like 0.01 seconds to get the last one. I was able to do it,but it took me 24 hours gameplay time to do it.

      I love these comments and they made me laugh 😂. Square is just continuing the tradition of annoying Final Fantasy mini games tbh. Think about it, every single mainline FF title that was considered a masterpiece had annoying mini games and they were often compulsory to do at 1st. Many people complained about FF16’s lack of mini games so Square Enix has brought them out in full force. Enjoy 🤣

    Some of the sigils for the ultimate weapons in final Fantasy 10 I never acquired. I did however have lots of fun playing blitzball. Passing the ball back and forth between players really help them level up.
