  • Australia overcame India in the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup. After a bowling effort lead by Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood kept India to just 240, the batters lead by Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne were able to steer the Australians to victory.
We react to another Cricket World Cup win for the Aussies, and the final more generally.

As an Australian, I dont know how our teams keep doing it, give us a big stage in a big tournament and we just find a way. It happens too often to be a fluke. That Indian team had no weaknesses until today

Why Aus does so well in cricket is because of following reasons:
      1) Cricket is a minority sport in Aus that means less expectation on players to perform,It makes Aussie players play freely
      2) Syrong domestic system to produce world class players
      3) Billions of expectation put a hell lot of pressure on India in which India crumbled.
      4) Cricket being just another sport in Aus and even if Aus (suppose) lose 0/5 even in their home condition playing a test series, very very less media covers the news,So even Aussies lose 10 consecutive cricket matches,Aussie players know that they will not face criticism like Indian player do as Cricket is religion in Ind
      5) Less pressure on Aussie players to perform as hardly 100 audience were present in the stadium
      6) I am 100% sure that in yesterday's final,Out of 26m population in Aus,20/22m population were sleeping and hardly 1m people would have glued to their TV sets,So it makes Aussies players feel less pressure and play their game freely

    Summary.
Cummings told the world before the match, there's nothing quite like silencing a home crowd against you. He achieved that superbly. India proved far more intimidated by their own crowd than was Australia. It was particularly noticeable when Kolhi tried to rev them up and got little response.
India was beaten by the OZ fielding. Heady's catch to dismiss Rohit was the turning point. Any cricket that happened after that, was simply playing out time left in the game to produce the inevitable result.

Such a shit comment on Cummins's overs. Since taking over the captaincy he has consistently given himself the hardest overs. He doesn't get the new ball hooping around in the power play, he bowls the tough drudgery in the middle overs, banging it in, bowling cutters, before it starts to reverse. Then he comes back to bowl death overs, when he's at the highest risk of getting tonked. He makes captaincy decisions that negatively affect his bowling figures, in the best interests of the team.

To say India are a better cricket side, is like saying the Springbox are a better side than the All Blacks just because they beat them in the final of the WC. All along, it's been admitted that the rules of rugby were overlooked in order to award the WC to South Africa.
I cannot fathom why it's so difficult for a lot of people to come to grips with the idea that Australia could win a cricket match. History tells us all, they win most serious cricket matches they contest. Get real people. It's time to admire and congratulate Australia instead of this unending wallowing in envy and excuses, because Australia is just going to continue winning.

I think the Vice-Captain Travis Head did a marvelous job of keeping the run rate steady at above 5 and played brilliantly with Labuschagne at the other end. The Aussies dominated the locals mightily and the result was already known by the 25th over, that the World Champion's Cup 2023 will fall into the hands of Aussies. The bowlers and fielders had restricted the target to 240 and the batsmen played the Indians off.
Travis Head was specially invited for this World Cup Final Match by the selection board although, the Captain hinted him that he may not be included in the final match due to his physical injuries and that there's no point in wasting time there. The Vice-Captain Head was influencial too, so he remained and rest is history.

India is a third world garbage dump, where people defecate in the streets. The only IT industry India has is scam centres pretending to be Microsoft help desks. Per capita, Australia has GDP of $65,099 US, India has a GDP of $2,410 US. Bangladeshis are better off than Indians, hell even Palestinians in Gaza were richer than Indians in 2023.
Indians are famous around the world for not only inventing absolute rubbish and fervently passing it off as fact, they also end up believing their own fiction. Listen to any Indian and their 2023 CWC side is far superior and better skilled than Ponting's Australia and Lloyds West Indies teams. I mean, they actually, genuinely, honestly believe it just because they want it to be true, even though it's total horseshit. There are maybe 2 Indian players maximum who might be good enough to get selected in the current Australian team, let alone Ponting's 2005 side. There must be some part of an Indians brain that never fully develops properly or something, because their ability for self delusion is as unlimited as it is embarrassing to watch.

as long as MOST SELFISH batsman in the world - king legend rahul is in Indian team --India will NEVER win a white ball world cup tournament! Even in IPL he destorys his own team for his stats! Even kohli was very SELFISH today ---if he is GOAT in ODI, he cannot score against part time bowlers head, marsh & maxi??? Gimme a break! Not one commentator in India wants to discuss SELFISH way rahul & kohli play.....

Indian team has stopped taking risks which it took in 2007 and 2011. They play too safe.

80 off the first 10 overs, high risk attacking bowling trying to break the partnership - what counts as not taking risks? You’re scrambling to come up with excuses, and that is a terrible one.

also let me tell you the dirty secret in Indian cricket -- players from Mumbai & Delhi will always be given preference --- BIAS against south & east ...this is the reason for Ashwin getting disrespected & shabbily treated through his entire career! Remember Ashwin was the reason for India reaching WC Test finals --he was dropped for shardul? are you kidding me? shardul cannot play for Netherlands!

in wtc final half squad was injured it was b team what happened to Australia in gaba and bgt test. what happened to Australia in first match they can't even score 200 in first match in slow pitch. Stop making excuses and learn cricket understand dew helps batting see rohits face when he lost toss and they chose bowling he was so sad. Netherland and nz scored most runs because of dew but that pitch was already better but this was slow and was giving help to bowlers and became very easy in night just see score board of first match can't even score 200 against india

Delighted as a Kashmiri to see India lose in front of fascists like the US athletes winning in front of Hitler. India had a great team but weren’t challenged prior not the final and I always believe that real champions come through difficult times. They were precariously placed in the group stage game vs Aus and even vs Pak, their bowling was getting the tap before Babar and the middle order’s usual collapse.
Never thought I’d root for an Aus win but the BCCI’s political coziness with the Modi regime plus the extremely skewed world cricket scene monopolizing and monetizing the game to the exclusion of cricket growth means that I’m feeling a sense of schadenfreude. Not the best thing to feel but will settle for it today!
