The guy that shot his fellow officer, then himself, was probably the smartest man in the room: Nothing anyone could say or do was going to stop Vader from killing them. All he did was save his fellow officer and himself from an incredibly violent and painful death.
These things make Vader look so incompetent. He expects absolute perfection from those under him but when he himself makes a mistake he doesn't recognize it and just blames the others. At the end he decides to kill loyal, competent and hard-working personnel just because he cannot accept he makes mistakes too.
the one officer who shot the other to the face and then blasted (pun intended) his brains out was a real badass! im kinda surprised vader did not stop him with force, seeing hes the one truly loyal
Nah, he did it because he was chickenshit. Now, if he'd taken a shot at Vader, said something along the lines of "The emperor does not tolerate failure", THAT would have been brass balls, not to mention perfect timing on the heels of that other officer's speech. He gets lucky and takes Vader out, who's going bug shit and whacking high command after he transferred command to a SPY, what's anyone going to say to that? It's exactly the kind of move Vader or Palpatine would have made on any officer short of Moff Tarken. Worst comes to worst, guy gets executed by Vader or Palpatine, which was going to happen anyway.
That last frame of the ensign looking wide eyed in absolute horror. I sincerely hope the Empire has access to good therapists XD That poor girl has PTSD and she didnt even do anything
Late reply, but the force doesn't tell all regarding a person's intentions. From what I've read, it often gives insight into one's emotional state and whether they are hostile. This means that even a non-force user can disguise their intentions against a Jedi or Sith provided they keep their emotional state in control. One Legends, or as I like to call it true canon novel, "Legacy of the Force: Revelation" has an admiral deceiving Vader's Jedi-turned-Sith grandson Jacen, keeping him from realizing she intends to overthrow him by keeping a constant veneer of contempt for him as her present mental-state while still doing her job and working with him.
Funny thing about work environments where any mistake or poorly timed comments could get you brutally punished: they tend to lead to employees that don’t speak up about problems until it’s too late.
Just wow...at that point you'd start to think *seasoned command staff* are just a dime a dozen, atleast Vader seemed to think that was the case. It's no wonder why Thrawn was more well liked and respected by his own men and officers, for him a live experienced, and competent (but not frickin omniscient..) officer is more valuable than a dead one just because some emperor's "lapdog" lost his already short temper!
I gotta respect that officer who stood up to Vader, he was willing to speak the truth and with no fear toward his as he said these things, really shows that some officers aren’t cowards who care about power, but some are true believers and good men, too bad he was killed by a “loyal” imperial officer.
At those times i wonder why Palpatine aint scolding Vader for sabotaging own chain of command. I mean it hurts the empire more than it hurts the rebels
Vader honestly makes me feel uncomfortable especially when get kills his own people, for little mistakes and for them standing up for themselves to his abuse, he honestly doesn't care about the empire, itself. Just a pure definition of selfishness and carelessness. Like a alcoholic father in a black suit and a plazma sword with magical powers. Oh wait

@@TEGRULZ There have been a number of instances where a Marine officer was placed in direct operational command of a Navy unit. This would include a Marine colonel acting as a Navy captain, since the ranks are functionally equivalent. It's not normally done, that's true, but there's no precedent saying a Marine can't command a naval unit. The term 'naval' is also kind of fuzzy here, as spacecraft could be described as both types of ships and types of aircraft. It makes sense that there would be sort of 'unified' rank structure that accommodates both lines of thought.
@Juan Cena | THE CHAMP IS HERE radical concept this, but they do, for example in Death Squadron, Executor has a CAPTAIN commanding, a Admiral commanding the Squadron, and a General commanding the ground forces. I think it's made fairly clear there are an Imperial Army and Navy. They have their own rank structures.
That commanding officer who spoke up to Vader was completely justified in lashing out at Vader, even if it was foolish. He seemed to care about not only the Empire he served under, but also his subordinates to the point were he would confront essentially the Grim Reaper himself. The so-called "Loyal" Imperial officer that shot him was the real traitor. But so is the way of the Empire. It is no wonder they lost to a bunch of teddy bears and a handful of rag-tag insurgents. All of their competent officers died for the sake of dogma and faux-loyalty. Even with all of his success, one could argue that Vader did much more to harm the Empire than he ever did to strengthen it.
Humiliation is something you feel not something someone can put upon you. I doubt a psychopath would feel anything like that and clearly that’s what a person like Vader is the only regular human moment he had was his son almost being killed by himself.
It is because Vader is being a child. Without even taking a moment to think and maybe plan a far better way to draw the spy. Yet in Legends. Vader HATED officers within the Empire. Hated them all. Each of them in his mind were cowards. He had more respect for the nameless grunt on the ground in a foxhole. Than, some Imperial officer sitting behind a desk on some other planet directing a war. Yet this is Legends Vader. Cannon Vader would have been brutal but he would not have slaughtered a room full of Imperial Officers to find the spy. He would have been more calculating about it. Even going so far to pretend to go against the Emperor. All to draw the spy out. Then, make his move. Legends Vader was cool at times but really he was a child. Compared to the Canon Vader. Who had hate and anger and moments of lashing out. Yet he didn't slaughter half of a ship's command staff to feel better about himself.

Imagine trying to put a positive spin on that 1st week when the family makes the inevitable "How was your 1st week honey?" call! 😂 xx
"I watched my boss personally kill dozens of people in cold blood....that was kinda unsettling. But lunch breaks were fine."
Well so long as you're eating properly sweetheart 😉 xx
"Whelp, my boss is a bit of a hardass, but there just opened up an opportunity for rapid promotion".
You see! It's like we always told you, it's who you know that matters on the career ladder xx
All I can say is this hun, I can't wait to get that promotion to Endor
These officers had balls to face Vader even though witnessing his power. That's what I call men with balls. Soldiers with an honorable heart. They may have died but they did so by facing there / the demon that stood before them
*After ending credits of episode 9*
*Palpatine's lightsaber falls from sky*
Hooded figure: *grabs lightsaber* "Finally! Back where it belongs!"
Four siths magically appear each from different sides
Darth Malgus: "Did you summon us back?"
Hooded figure: "Yep."
Darth Malgus: "Is that you Kallig? You look different."
*takes off hood*
Jar Jar: "Meesa not heard that name in a long bombad while! These days they call me Jar Jar but hey, what ever suits you."
Sariss: "Is it really you?"
Jar Jar: "Yeah, but some time ago meesa had to cast my old form away! Been through plenty more semblances since, but it's still meesa underneath it all."
Darth Bane: "What happened? Why are we here? You tell me!"
Jar Jar: "I had a roll to play. And after all these years, it's done.
Sariss: "What role?"
Jar Jar: *looks around* "Meesa guess Zannah didn't make it after all."
Darth Nihilus: "Meaning what?"
Jar Jar: "Meesa told her clear as day , what it is meesa had to do."
Darth Nihilus: "And is that why you decided to exclude her?"
Jar Jar: "As if. Zannah had her own mission, and she carried it out."
Darth Bane: "I've heard enough! Kallig, what was your role?"
Jar Jar: *Looks at black box* "Meesa hope you like long bombad stoies."
Lol, that was probably the most interesting part of KH 3
I only recognized the names, Palpatine, Malgus, Jar Jar, Bane, Zannah, and Nihilis. And this sounds very interesting, I would like to hear more, and I do like long stories, as long as they are interesting and they grab and hold my attention.
Kh3 lol
One like for the kingdom hearts reference.
I already wrote you on Twitter, but once again: congrats on 200k subscribers! On to the next 100k.
I also love these old Dark Horse comics. They honestly did such an amazing job with Vader and the Empire
They really are great, especially when it comes to Vader!
Thank you very much re: 200k IO, I appreciate that. I'm just getting caught up on a few Star Wars materials (reading Master and Apprentice, videos re: the main releases at Celebration, etc.), but I'm looking to get the live streams going again a week from now, starting with the 200k thank you stream. But thank you for watching as always buddy!
"Vader were to kill 5 more, for a total of eight"
"Vader killed COUNTLESS imperial officers!!!!"
He did killed countless imperial officers over a period of 23 years
0:21 Probably the most badass incarnation of Vader I've ever seen
Also
(Empire fails a mission)
Vader: Oh boy! Here I go killing again!
Vader is literally the embodiment of every Sargent majors thoughts.
I like to imagine the Stormtrooper behind Vader was shaking his head profusely at the Officer as he yelled at him
Vader: I will kill the incompetent high ranking Empire officials for their failure to capture a spy.
Imperial Officers: Officials like yourself?
I love your endings!!!!! “The worst first day on the job ever ” 🤘🏽😝🤘🏽🔥🔥🔥
The guy that shot his fellow officer, then himself, was probably the smartest man in the room: Nothing anyone could say or do was going to stop Vader from killing them. All he did was save his fellow officer and himself from an incredibly violent and painful death.
It's pronounced N-SIN. The common navy rank Ensign is recognized around the world
Glad someone said it 😉✌
Thank you!
It was bugging me EVERY time he said it in the video.
You can also pronounce it "BUH-TER BAR"
Black people
Imperial Officers: Exist
Vader: It's free real estate.
Vader out here doing the Alliance's work for them...
These things make Vader look so incompetent. He expects absolute perfection from those under him but when he himself makes a mistake he doesn't recognize it and just blames the others. At the end he decides to kill loyal, competent and hard-working personnel just because he cannot accept he makes mistakes too.
That's what I miss about Legends Star Wars is that how dark it was
Yeah me to but fucking Disney and muh kid friendly BS
ANd how fucking dumb Vader is-
That was cool but Vader and the Emperor weren't exactly...cerebral in them.
Hahah jesus Christ. "AND THERE WE HAVE IT :]" Right after some dude hollows his head. That was gold 😂
4:07 Vader standing so politely in the corner is absolutely terrifying.
3:13 I'd have shared that one officer's fate. Vader was a child. Of course... I wouldn't be part of the Empire, either lol
Robert Houtsch ikr.
All the officers that spoke up were right.
This is why the empire was doomed- the Sith made a toxic culture.
That’s why it’s better to be a stormtrooper like me
Shadow Trooper
Stormtroopers deserve to be wiped out with the Empire.
You ruin Cultures so Imperials being eradicated from existence is justice
At that point I would realize I was dead and just blowmyself up right next to Vader.
@@katrinajarrett4206 inferior Alien cultures
Vader is very close to what the commissaries from 40k are and i love it.
the one officer who shot the other to the face and then blasted (pun intended) his brains out was a real badass! im kinda surprised vader did not stop him with force, seeing hes the one truly loyal
Vader-stalin The purge-vader rampage 😮
I love this channel. No drama. No rumors. No b.s. Thank you!
I would be terrified if I got a promotion in the Empire's army.
I like how you can go from talking anout death and masacers to going like "and there we have it" in such a joyful tone
Sometimes I forget Vader was such a monster... it almost seems like he didn’t deserve to come back as a force ghost
It was cool seeing Vader called out on his BS though lol
General: Calls Darth Vader Old
Darth Vader: *Are you challenging me?*
I love how at the end of all that you just say like always in your slightly cheery tone “so there we have it😊”
Imperial officer: *exists
Darth Vader: so you have chosen, death
Like General Grievous with his battle droids
Except instead of slapping around machines, he's murdering people.
Warcrimes? I think you mean examples...
not mutually exclusive
Darth Vader: Come to my office. It's time for you annual job evaluation.
Me: *Gulp*
That’s hard to believe that they could infiltrate the Empire that deep. How would Palpatine not know Beecher’s intentions through the force?
The only Star wars channel I constantly come back to.
Rather reminiscent of the Great Purge carried out by Stalin in the early years of the Soviet Union.
I gotta respect that officer who stood up to Vader, he was willing to speak the truth and with no fear toward his as he said these things, really shows that some officers aren’t cowards who care about power, but some are true believers and good men, too bad he was killed by a “loyal” imperial officer.
Ensign is pronounced “en-sen” not “in-sine” sounds like a text to speech program went wrong.
Is no one going to mention Vader at 4:09 is just standing there like "you know I had to do it to em'"
The lesson here: never remind Vader of his own mistakes
I have to respect the officer who stood up to Vader. That's about as bad ass as it gets.
Congratulations on hitting 200K subs!✨🔝
"Star destroyeeeerrr"
"Hierarchyyy"
I just realised that he always drag the last word in almost every sentence
I hate it, it's like nails on a chalkboard.
@@tatsunote 😂
4:08
Vader's just standing there like "Better slow down there bud, you're cruisin' for a bruisn'"
At those times i wonder why Palpatine aint scolding Vader for sabotaging own chain of command.
I mean it hurts the empire more than it hurts the rebels
The artist on this comic did Vader JUSTICE! He looks bad ass!
Vader: Reason why nobody wants to be an Imperial higher-up.
Telling Vader "Oh it was your fault too" is equivalent to telling Evil Vegeta "I bet you can't knock me out with your hardest punch."
considering the empire demands absolute blind loyalty, something like this doesnt surprise me in the least.
ensign (rank) is pronounced En-Sin.
That one officer who decided to stand up to Vader had some guts
While Vader was treating his own men like this, no wonder so much men and women went to the rebellion.
Vader everytime someone brings up a good point "MISS ME WITH THAT WEAK SHIT BOI"
Oh wait
Wow that was brutal besides that congratulations Star Wars Reading Club for reaching 220,004 subs. 👏🎉👏🎊👏
Vader goes a purging.
More like Vader's tantrums.
@@tactknightgaming2066
Aren't those the same?
I view it as his annual employee roster cleansing.
Emp United not even Stalin was this stupid to purging in a fuckin world war, he purged a lot, out of his paranoia that people will overthrow him not a fuckin baby tantrum
Whoa....somebody dared to tell Vader the truth.
I am starting to suspect that Vader thinks imperial officers are made of sand.
Gotta love Vader’s savage ways of showing is displeasure.
Ensign is pronounced "In Sin".
More like en-sin
Thank god!, I'm not the only one.
What not going to mention the fact a COLONEL is somehow getting a NAVAL command?
"Leaving countless dead before his rampage was over"..... "So there we have it!"
Lololol
Ensign is pronounced "en-sin" not "en-sign", just an fyi.
Love the Vader comic videos.
Star war: has the most brutal thing you could think of. SWRC: and there we have it! :)
Vader gives a whole new meaning for going postal on workplace.
So how did vader had a female secretary??? And also someone so weak and typicial character who is sure to betray him in face of 'good of humanity'
Vader: Let's Roll Play I Will Be Anakin And You Will Be The Jedi Children!
This guy sounds like top 15's gay older brother.
Humiliation is something you feel not something someone can put upon you. I doubt a psychopath would feel anything like that and clearly that’s what a person like Vader is the only regular human moment he had was his son almost being killed by himself.
But why tho? Honestly it’s not a surprise the empire failed
@@Qardo this is infinities comic
@@goodmind4940 It still does not change the facts. It is still Legends Vader. All the while the new Vader out there is supported and new Cannon published by Marvel.
im sorry...I know you say it in every video, but when you said "so there we have it" in this video, I died laughing cuz of that timing and cheery demeanor after such a dark story lol
