I'll never forget my first run of this game. It ended with a team mate decapitating me accidentally as I went in for the final kill. Immediately I knew.... this is a rogue like I can get behind LOL
i love the whole physics based combat where the weapons are always active.. dev did a great job

Good game, however it can be easy to dig your character a hole that can be basically impossible to get out of, but starting a new character is always exciting. Good loop

Got this game 6 weeks ago and absolutely no-lifed the crap out of it for 5 days.... what an amazing passion project made by just a single person!!!..... feels great to support games like this. Also, if you want a tip to win: Get the Bardiche Weapon... sell everything to get it. Its downright broken.

@@DisemboweII The flails are good in mid-game, but lthey dont compare to the overheads from the Bardiche. The 'recoil' of the Bardiche also does damage in this game which is quite unique. Not to mention that you can just bust through most shields in 2 swings - its just hands down OP

I just wish that old bad ass spartacus game got a reboot because that was my best experience of gladiator combat still to this day

Can definitely see you two duo if it has multiplay
full plate armor+big shield+1 handed mace equals easy mode. in 1v1s you can hug your opponent to death and smack their leg until they die. the massive durability for even blue level maces means that repair issues are minimal if you have a spare to switch to when your first needs repairs.
I’ve got 80 hours in this game and it’s still fun. When you die after spending hours with one character it’s just as fun to start with a fresh one. It’s a rouge like that doesn’t depress you when you die. The loop itself is the real fun not seeing how far you can get.

It's amazing how good this game can feel once you get intoa grove and get a favorite weapon, you can score some fun kills once you get built....but F the Pilum that thing is bugged to high heaven to be useless for the player and a guided nuclear missile by the enemy.

I enjoyed this a few patches ago I will check it again it was more then fun enough to cover the cost so if you still wondering I wouldn't consider it a loss.
That's some "interesting" weapons and armour for gladiators to be sure. Looks like a lot of fun though. 🙂

Thanks for all of your efforts to keep video game developers accountable. The A.I. writing scripts is just the beginning. Did they finally add controller support? I bought this about 2 months ago but haven't touched it since I loaded it up and found out it doesn't have controller support.
Not yet but next major update will include controller support (version 1 at least)

This game is really fun. I think the out of combat systems need a fair amount of work. The combat is actually reaĺlu fun. Hopefully they can make it feel a little smoother and it will be fantastic.
Guessing you tried using the two handed sword. That beast was rather unwieldy.

It seems legit but i'm always skeptical when it comes to investing time in early access games.
Its really fun, but pretty clunky rn. Def worth picking up if you see it on sale otherwise I would wait til it's a little more polished.
Its a little clunky, but amazingly impressive for being just made by 1 person. I downloaded it 6 weeks ago and played it non stop for like 5 days. Gotta say it was good value for money
Took about 50 hours to complete all backgrounds. Definitely polished enough for 20 bucks easily
I picked it up on sale and that was super worth it but obviously everyone has different priorities
... I feel like an old old game already perfected this kind of combat system about 20 or so years ago; that game was called Silver.

I don't like the weapons all over the ground, or weapons being thrown into the arena.
Maybe I'd be ok with stupid stuff like the mugs being thrown in, but it should largely be what the gladiators walk in with.
When weapons or shields break, you should be able to pick them back up broken, with lesser effectiveness.
Also you should be able to drop or toss your weapon or shield, if it comes down to it, you should be able to throw hands
1. Get used to it, it will never leave.
2. Some matches are only what you can find in the arena.
3. They're broken, you cannot use a broken shield or weapon, obviously.
4. You can. But, don't expect the enemy to do so.
I'll be honest, this kinda looks like boring Soul Calibur. Prob more fun if you're in it though. I never judge till I try it at least once.

The ps2 game Gladiators of rome or whatever was way better made by professional devs with a budget and even the psp gladiator game is leagues better than whatever this is.
