  • I take a look at the Old Timer Boot 👢 knife 🗡 that Toby and family 👪 sent me. It's a pretty nice little knife that doesn't have to ride in your Boot. It comes with a nice, well fitted leather sheath that has a slot accommodating up to a 2 inch belt loop. It has a 3.75 inch, single edge, spear point blade of 7cr17mov (440a equivalent) stainless steel.

Schrade and old Timer have some good knives for the price. They usually list steel and materials which is a huge plus in my book. Thanks to Toby and Family for supporting an awesome channel. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

My daughter picked up a nail last week driving through construction, got the flat fixed for free.
    Nice little cutter from T & F.
    Thanks William

Theres a nice Old Timer I've yet to pick up. Great to see one up close and get a better idea of what it's all about. Nice demonstration. 👢🔪👍

Since I officially became an Old Timer this year, I think I need to get this knife to go with my Medicare. I really like boot knives and this looks like a nice one. ( I really like most knives, duh)

William you old sheath sniffler, you knew it was leather! Very nice knife for belt or boot, can be combined nicely with any Bowie and a YKM folding member all day. It'll can handle most things you'll throw at it. The handle shape towards the guards is well thought off. No slipping over the edge there. A good hobo armor destroyer too! Very impressive OT buddy.

This one is pretty nice & effective against Hobo armor. Yeah, I can't resist a chance to sniff real leather. Doesn't give me a headache like sniffing glue.🥴

Seems to be quite a handy little fixed blade. Probably be good against rogue hobo’s as long as they don’t have armor!

It is sort of a mix between a medieval bollock dagger and a Sheffield Green River knife. The finger guard is vaguely a bollock dagger shape (some are more bollock like than others) and a GRK from Sheffield has a similar spear point blade. Seem to remember the gonad dagger is sharpened on both sides but they were in use for hundreds of years so I'm sure some were made with only one side sharpened. Interesting how old designs turn up again.

It did fool me with that single edge, but it works well. I like it better than a dagger 🗡 because I can use it more.

I have come close to picking this one up so many times, I am glad Toby sent you one so I can take a decent look at it, seems OK for the money, a nice addition to your collection.🗡️👍

I thought it was going to be a double edge boot knife & I'm glad it's only one edge.

I really like the design and your armor tests are a hoot! Don’t cut yourself

The danger factor of a dagger compared to a spear point sharpen on just one side is doubled. Making a dagger illegal to carry in lots of areas is the more severe wound it makes. When you stab something and rotate the blade, 90 degrees it makes four cuts’ two going in and two coming out. This makes the wound bleed more and much more damaging and difficult to repair the wound.
As for throwing this knife is an easy one to throw to likely 12 feet or a little, further. However, it works best held by the handle and thrown without any rotation. Once you learn when to release the knife it works for any size blade or length of knife. It is also faster to do because you don’t need to waste time turning the knife around. It prevents being cut from the blade and can be thrown with much more power and speed. 🐯

I have seen some videos before of people doing no spin knife throwing & you are right, it does have a lot of advantages.

Boot knife is the last line of defense. If its not double edge. Its useless.
