I enjoyed Frankenstein earlier this year. I want to look back at sections I underlined because it had some brilliant pieces of writing . I also watched a documentary about Mary Shelley's life which was interesting. I don't do horror but I'm doing some spooky themed reading, incl A Dowry of Blood - described as a sapphic retelling of Dracula.
I'm hoping you like The Little Stranger much more this time. So many translated books! I'm interested in hearing about The Hole. It sounds weirdly intriguing. I definitely need to read Frankenstein at some point but it won't be this year.
Certain authors I definitely associate with autumn. 🍁🍂Sarah Waters , DDM , Yoko Ogawa especially ❤ Hope you enjoy all the books you get to. 🍂🍁
Ooh DDM is a great shout for autumnal reading. I might try and fit in a reread of My Cousin Rachel before the end of the year 😊
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these! Great mix for spooky season!
Thanks Mo!

A Dowry of Blood sounds great, just based on that brief description!
this is a great mix, very varied as usual! I’m looking forward to your thoughts on the Sarah Waters reread! 🍂🌙🦉
I will say that my Sarah Waters reread is going well so far!

The Hole is one I'm really looking forward to! I suspect I probably will enjoy The Little Stranger more this time around 🤞
I'm with you on all these except The Rats. I just can't handle rats!
Haha, I'm not too keen on rats myself 🙈
Sounds like some good reads.
I hope so! I'm looking forward to them all 😁
