I appreciate all you do for us man. You’ve gotten me through a few long, almost overwhelming nights. Thank goodness for Joey.
Thanks man! I'm excited for this device
This thing is amazing! I just got the ARC-S and maybe also get the ARC-D.
Thanks for this guide
Thank you Joey.
I have been playing around with the RG ARC-D the last few days and for the life of me been having a hard time getting RetroArchivement settings to properly save and run. Solid system but really hope there be CFW on it.
Altrough I have minimum PC skills, I managed to just copy the cheap SD Anbernic used to the PC harddrive and further to a Sandisk SD. Took some time, but it worked flawlessly, and now I have a branded SD and a security backup on my laptop for the worst case.
I can't get any of my box arts to appear. Do they need to be a specific size? I'm using the same ones I used on my 351P with ArkOS, and those worked fine.
I love this thing!!! I have SEGA CD, SEGA Genesis, SegaCD, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast and all the hundreds of Sega Arcade games. Basically it's my SEGA handheld.
I switched to a Samsung 512gb SD card and it's much better. I had a question, how do I get scraped artwork onto this thing? I have thousands of scraped art on my Steam Deck but don't know where the folder for images is on the Arc-D.
Thanks!
Please a button mapping tutorial video. any way to set the dpad as analog stick and face buttons as dpad? thank you
Is there any way to add additional retroarch cores or different emulators?
Are you able to map SF5 with the right buttons, I can't seem to map 2 of the buttons.
Do you know how to hide .bin files so there aren't duplicate listings for disc games like PS1?
Thanks for the video, Joey. I got the unit with only the OS sd card, no ROMs card as I wanted to add them myself but I cant figure out how to properly format the second sd card. The unit sees it in Android side but not in Linux. Any advice please?
You'll have to format it in Android, then it'll be seen by both sides.
Seeeegggaaaa!!!!
Thanks for the video. Have you tried running JelOS or other RK3566 compatible custom firmwares on this device by any chance?
No I haven't, but they're specifically blocking Anbernic devices.
Someone is trying to port mainline Linux, and GammaOS is coming to the RG Arc D.
Anbernic has a bad habit of being a dick to devs so JelOS decided to not support their devices onwards, probably similar for ArkOS.
@@glazedbelmont Thanks for the information. Fingers crossed.
It's too bad Anbernic doesn't work with the community, especially since their OS/front end is FAR from being optimum.
@@orakaa Yeah it's a real shame, Powkiddy is actually pretty chill with devs from what it appears.
do i need ant special program to add games.
been trying to add games but ot just wont work
Where can I get the roms?
I’ve been trying to figure out how to add more emulators. I wanna play ps2 roms and Japanese games like beat mania
This is going to be my until for Genesis, 32X and SegaCD only. Perfect buttons
I need help downloading games on the device
Games not show slot 2...What can i do?
Hello, did you try the sound output with headphones ? I read somewhere that the output was crap (background noise) Can you confirm ?
Just tried both my S and D models, no issues on either.
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds Ok thanks !
Why did you format the 256GB SD card as FAT32 ? Is the console limited to 32GB ? Can't use the whole 256GB available ?
It has to be FAT32, no it's not limited to 32GB and yes you can use the full 256GB.
Alright thank you
Is there a way to scrape for boxart and video for your own roms?
Not on the device, you'd have to use skraper on PC.
The Sega Saturn emulator has images for box art. I can load the the roms but there is no box art even if I add the image to the image file in the emulator.
Where am I going wrong?
I'm adding a new game to the Anbernic RG ARC-D game console, then I'm adding Box Art images with the same name as the game to the images folder, but the Box Art photos never seem to appear next to the names of the games when using the console. What could be the reason? Please help
You figure this out? He said in the video have to add -images at the end of name. Was hoping to find a auto way
Im late to the party i also just bought rg arc-d. Mine came with a 128gb game card. Now i tried to back it up using win10 but all it wants to do is format the card. Is there something im missing.? A program or something to read the files? Any help would be awesome. I want to add more saturn games.. since it came only with 4.
Hey, you'll have that problem with any device, Windows doesn't recognize the format. Never format, always ignore that warning.
You should still be able to access the drive, but if not, give it a letter in disk management.
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds Thank you very much ill give that a crack. Im new to this as you can tell. I cant wait to play games that werent release in Australia.
I just got my Arc-S today and noticed that it’s not showing the Saturn emulator. Any idea how I can resolve this?
Also how do you remove games from Favorites?
Have the same problem, do you already figure it out? Thanks!
@@fredericodraw889 I just loaded it with Saturn roms and it finally showed up
It's listed under the specific "emulators" section of the menu, rather than in the Retroarch section.
I think like the saturn emulator only shows up when you have saturn roms in the saturn folder. Because I noticed that when I was testing it out on mine, the 32X emulator didn't pop up until I had placed a 32X rom in there.
What's the max sd card size it can use?
Likely a 1TB.
Would like to use my 6 face buttons, but only to use it like it has 4 face buttons.
So I got one of the Linux only ones with only the OS card included. It seems like something is wrong. Retroarch only has gameboy advance, mega drive, mrboom(?), NES, Pc engine and prboom(?). Under emulators I only have sdlpop(?). It seems they partitioned the flash card and one side has the OS and the other has the ROMS folders. I don’t see anyway of adding emulators or a retroarch folder on the flash card. It also doesn’t seem to be seeing my actual ROMS card when it’s inserted. Using the file manager under apps is also no help. Any ideas? It seems like what I got on the card is wrong, but nothing on the anbernic site for firmware etc. at this point this is worthless unless I can figure out how to get it to load more emulators and read my ROMS card
Hm, I have no clue. The Discord in my description, arc channel could likely help.
@@JoeysRetroHandheldsthanks for the quick reply
Same issue for me…
@@Itme212find any solution?
I figured it out. I entered the sad card after turning it in. So, I turned it off and back on with the sd already in and it looks just like the video
If there were jelos on it it would be an instant purchase...till then, i'll wait😢
try arc d, linux system only, it's as good as jelos
Everyone says ''its prone to failure'' but have there been any people actually saying that it failed? I'm sure there is a standard of manufacture when making these things.
I just got mine today and it isn't reading the micro SD card.
The same SD card can be read by my other anbernic device
My main problem is that retroarch expect a 4 button controller, it has no idea there are two extra buttons.
The extra two buttons are mapped in the cores that use them.
I haven't tried all the cores yet. saturn core was easy to setup, but I'm having issues with CPS@@JoeysRetroHandhelds
I didn't have to change anything, the out of the box core setups were all mapped properly.
That's the problem, I had to get a custom firmware, the OS sdcard I got was corrupt and the ambernic website is useless and has no download for the original firmware.@@JoeysRetroHandhelds
Hm, I see it right here: win.anbernic.com/download/
I noticed it has a PS2 folder but no PS2 emulator on it
Not strong enough for PS2.
Does anyone know how to change hotkeys on the RG ARC? The frontend seems to over-ride the ability to save hotkey binds in the retro-arch menus, tried everything and I can't get Rewind to save after exiting out of each game.
You'll have to save core override via that section instead of save configuration.
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds I tried all config & core-override options, nothing works
What game is 3:50?
Street Fighter V on PC
But..... 😝
