    Good to see Charley back up to speed on a bike after his bad accident. His book about his recovery is a good read.

      Mike Parry ride bikes long enough and you will fall off at some point!

      Enjoyed the book greatly as well. Hope the leg is not causing him too many issues now. Hopefully he will do another adventure.

    Very nice bike. I really like the changes they’ve made...could be a worthy competitor to the Africa Twin and the upcoming BMW 850. Can’t wait for it to get here!

      I've had my Tiger 800 (std, not XC) since new in 2013 before the XR moniker was introduced. Without a doubt it is the BEST motorcycle I have ever owned! I am dying to try this new model when it arrives in Australia. My main query, funnily enough is whether the new screen is better than the OEM one on my bike? It was so shit! The wind noise was THE WORST. A Madstad fixed it, but will be nice if Triumph have done a good job.
      Not sure I would need an XC as I do bugger all off road and I love going quick in the twisties. Will have to see how it handles.

    Only talked about the XCa variant. Not a very helpful review considering the video title appeared to cover the Tiger 800.

    By the time it has the TFt screen the brembo brakes the led headlight the Wp suspension its around £12.5k. Even the starting xr is getting ever closer to £10k and has normal clocks fixed screen and non of the other stuff by the time its all ready to go out the door.

    Nice bike but I had to pull the trigger on a KTM 1090r.

      I would have done the same. To go round the world I'm sure it's a better choice. Charley's answer isn't really convincing in that regard...

      For reliability i would stick to Triumph. And as for living with the bike also i would go with Triumph. KTM’s are good to go fast but on slow pace it’s not as comfy or forgiving as a Triumph engine.

    Still no separate sub frame? so it drops on the rear pegs and frame bent and Totaled! Come on Triumph WTF???

      @fowlsy71 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guy over here in Australia recently broke his crank case when a rock hit the engine guard. Apparently the engine guard mounts directly onto the engine and not the frame and when the rock hit the shock was transferred to the engine and cracked the case dumping all his oil

    • @bigmankz
      @bigmankz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The frame is so strong that if you crash so hard that it bends the frame the frame would probably be the least expensive part to replace. :)) I droped my bike so hard many times and it handled all things well. Being a steel frame also helps as you can bend it back. Not the case with aluminium subframes.
      Also which bikes have their sump guards attached to the frame and not the engine?

      They didn't put piston rings in mine. Drank oil from new. Dealer told me I didn't have a warranty because I self-serviced it.
      I called Triumph North America. They offered to help me but had to speak to the dealer first. Naturally the dealer lied to them about my complaints. Boom, just like that, no warranty.
      Bad bike, bad dealer, bad manufacturer. Buyer beware.

    Does anyone know if the new first gear backwards compatible with a 2015 Tiger 800 XCx?

    • @mickeypopa
      @mickeypopa 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the new first gear will allow you to go backwards.

    I want to tour Africa! is this bike right for it? thank you.

    • @andreborges3849
      @andreborges3849 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. Twin carburated engine. You dont want a recent bike to break down in Mauritânia. If you want really to tour in África in multiple countries throu dirt and gravel. Try Tenere or xrv 750 África twin.

    Hmm. I wonder what the Triumph sponsored rider has to say about the new Triumph. I wonder what it could be.

    what is the point in this style of interview

  • @Deadonkey85
    @Deadonkey85 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Pointless video.
    Just PR not a review

    • @steve_kamrad5216
      @steve_kamrad5216 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Deadonkey it clearly says that in the description. I reviewed one. Watch my video if you hate this one. You'll hate mine too

    • @Deadonkey85
      @Deadonkey85 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It says his first impressions.
      Since hes being paid by triumph its hardly going to be negative.
      Im not saying its not a good bike.
      I bought one.
      But you cant expect someone who is being paid to offer an independent view and be taken seriously.

    • @steve_kamrad5216
      @steve_kamrad5216 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Deadonkey yeah sooooo. Impressions. First ride. No big deal. I just wouldn't call it a PR video. It's an interaction between two guys

    • @Deadonkey85
      @Deadonkey85 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it impressions tho or is it being paid to say good things?
      Do you think the video would exist if he said it was worse than the bmw equivalent

    • @steve_kamrad5216
      @steve_kamrad5216 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Deadonkey well seeing as how I know Rob at advpulse i would say yeah it would exsist but Charlie might not. I can say that his initial impressions are all true and correct so I would say try not to be so cynical. He's just talking about a bike he just rode for the first time
