We hope you'll be doing another one then, has it inspired you??? Sorry but even though you inspired me to run every day (still doing it!!) you haven't inspired me to want to do that!!!😂 How many women did it??
Congratulations Ian!! You’re very strong. Bucket list completed. What a great experience and thanks for sharing. Quite a production putting on a race like this.
Cheers - it's a great race to do! Brutal on the biceps and forearms though 😊 I did a Spartan Super video a few months after and did much better on that one - I actually got the weight off the floor!
Great video thanks for sharing! Loved checking it out, never done a spartan before might be on my list one day, looks more like a race atmosphere though compared to the commeraderie of a tough mudder, glad you enjoyed it though!
Yeah, there was a really competitive field, but I went in the item, which was a bit more chilled. I was grinning a lot on the drive home - it was so much fun!
Brilliant video mate was good to look back on the race thanks to you for filming it n well done on getting to the finish was tough terrain n harder in the drizzle
@@IRunDaily I did my first races last year and was hooked yes did the 21k beast on the Saturday then the 5k sprint on the Sunday and maybe I will see you there as I'm doing the 10k also in July ☺️👍
Cheers mate - you'll love it; it's great fun. I hadn't done loads myself either to be honest. Most of it is fairly straightforward. If you can get yourself on some monkey bars just to practice the grip and momentum, that would be good. I'd recommend cycling gloves with padding but fingerless and a hydration pack if you can pick one up. Once you get over the first few obstacles, the nerves disappear!
I think it was about 2 hours 30! Which wasn't too bad, but I think the winner did it in under 1:40, which is bonkers considering the terrain. It was a great event though, sore and smiling for days afterwards!
I would definitely recommend gloves. I used a pair of cycling gloves, so the finger tips were still exposed. Grab a cheap pair from amazon, you can always take them off if not working out for you!
My first Spartan race! An absolutely brutal 21+K, but a lot of fun in the process!

Great work. Doing mine next weekend. How long did it take you out of curiosity?
Congratulations Ian!! You’re very strong. Bucket list completed. What a great experience and thanks for sharing. Quite a production putting on a race like this.
Ha, I'm stronger than I was! Yeah, it was a huge amount of effort and stuff. Great marshals and atmosphere 😊
Smashed it mate. Well done.
Absolutely awesome job Ian! That looked tough but it also looked like incredible fun! Huge kudos to you for getting through it mate! 😎🤘🏻
It was so much fun! I mean, not something you'd want to do in the build up to an A race, but lots of fun all the same!
🏅BRAVO Ian🏅... you made it look like fun!! Kudos!!!
I was grinning a lot on the way home!
@@IRunDaily 😀 and we were grinning watching you too!! Again BRAVO!!!!
This looked a really tough one Ian but a good day out as well 😀 congrats on getting through it. Nice to see a different kind of challenge
It was so different, but lots of fun! Having the running background definitely kept me near the front of the field!
Cool experience and a really thorough video - thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this! I plan on doing this next October. You did great, well in!

@@IRunDaily the obstacles looked good to be fair
Well done, dude! Grip is never a problem when Im doing obstacles (except for the multi ring), but getting a solid foothold I struggle with.
It was a great first experience! I think I was just exhausted by the end of it!
Great run! It looked fun. I've only ever done one obstacle braces but not Spartan.
It was great fun... I'd recommend if they are ever near to you!
Well done!! Looks brutal, but I’m somewhat intrigued. Might have to put that on my bucket list too.
It was hard, but far more achievable than I thought it would be!
First timer?! Way to go Spartan! aroo aroo aroo!
🔥💪
Loved it loved it! Going back for some more in July!
Brilliant video mate was good to look back on the race thanks to you for filming it n well done on getting to the finish was tough terrain n harder in the drizzle
Thanks! It was my first one and I loved it. Going up to Birmingham in July to do the 10k. I saw your vid - did you do both races back to back?!

Looks fun
Doing my first in June. Not trained. Ropes, bars, inverted walls etc I'm dreading .

Brutal race Ian! Congrats! You're an Spartan! 👏👍
I shall not be wearing a toga 😉
@@IRunDaily definitely!
@@IRunDaily Then how about a leather cod piece?? THAT might get you more views Ian!! Just an idea!! 😂
U did great! Congrats. AROO
AROO! Cheers buddy - did better at the Super race, but loved the challenge of the 21k!
Great job! 🙂👏
Thanks mate!
I was heavy into Spartan Races back in 2015-2016. I really need to do some more of these races. Awesome job! 🙌
Yeah, they are great fun! I definitely improved after this one!
Great job 👍
I did my 21k at Mont Tremblant for 2023,it’s absolutely amazing and satisfying being able to do this spartan race
It is a great feeling! Lots of aches and bruises afterwards, but it is totally worth it!
that looked like a lot of fun but there is no way i would be able to do half of those objects. well done :)
I thought the same, but you'd be surprised! I'm not sure when in my life I'll need to climb over an 8 foot wall, but should the need arise...!
Congratulations on smashing the Spartan race. What was your finish time?

Lol leaving the rope for that guy to work for 😈
I know, I didn't realise until I edited the video!!
Im about to run my first Spartan Race 10k,and I'm wondering if I should use some gloves or run without just for good grip 🤔
I would definitely recommend gloves. I used a pair of cycling gloves, so the finger tips were still exposed. Grab a cheap pair from amazon, you can always take them off if not working out for you!
@@IRunDaily thanks mate 👍
Hola!, primero que todo felicitaciones!!! tengo una consulta. Utilizaste el soporte para pecho para colocar la go pro ?
Hola, mi amigo! Use un soporte para la cabeza y funciono muy bien! Gracias por ver!
"absoluteley pathetic" :D Gotta love your comments!
It was a crap throw! I did better at my next race, but still didn't hit the target!
Absolutely pathetic I like that 😄👍
Yup! I was so knackered by that point! Didn't get much better in my second race! 😂
It looks like you pulled woman's plate drag
Could have done! I followed the guy before me, so hopefully I got the correct one!
Hey, you did the obstacle and as long as the ref didnt' see it, you're in the clear! lol
