I love seeing the different ways to complete obstacles! First year doing Spartan race and going for a trifecta. Appreciate you sharing the video!
If you have to ring the bell to complete the obs i wonder if navy seals refuse to do spartan races then lol
Haha they'll still take the burpees after completing the obstacle
They didn't require us to do any burpees even in the open heat at the Utah event for some reason. I definitely prefer the penalty loop over burpees.
Beast this Saturday! Get Some!!!!
Really want to get into this. I want to build up the Trifecta and hit the “Texas Three step” in 2024. Let the training bus hit me!😂😂😂
this is the best video i’ve seen
This is awesome
I appreciate the insight. A group of us are training to do the Spartan Beast in December
Super welcome.
I doing my first in june. No arm strength, loads of penalty loops for.me 🤣
Doing the full trifecta in Dallas this weekend. Prooobably should have checked this out earlier lol
Have fun!
Where is this please? The area is beautiful! Thank you
I'm sure you meant to say, "some of these are watered down from previous years" in your commentary, right, Matt? 😄
Incredible opening shots. I have totally been dropped by a “new helper”. Hope you are ok
How are additional 200 meters comparable to 30 burpees? I can't really follow why the penalties are so different between the Open Heat and the Elite Heat.
3 ft Asian 🥹 i felt that
How long did it take?
Matt, Have to say it, but I love the on-course coverage and obstacle commentary/tips and tricks
Thanks!
i have a go pro. what do you recommend best. a head strap or chest strap ? while doing obsticles
Always head. Chesty will rub against ground and walls, etc.
as a chest strapper, i bump walls and you won’t be able to showcase obstacles well. for ex: low crawls is just the ground 😂 i want my hair to look decent, so thats why i do chest.
For the spartan sprint, are we required to do the 30 burpes of we fail an obsticle?
It’s extra distance starting this year no burpees anymore
No burpees unless you do open race then it might be burpees
Just signed up after doing a tough mudder. Really doesn’t seem very hard. Is there swimming?
Most events, no. If there is any significant water crossing, they will have PFDs.
@@Obstacleracingmedia thank you
@@ObstacleracingmediaThat was rough ngl. See you next year 😂
Do most people not run in the open races? Got one coming up in October and me and my friends are planning to really race
There are elite and age groups that are competitive. You can sign up for those waves.
How heavy is that weight ball?
If I remember correctly, it's 80lbs. for men and maybe 60 for women?
What course is this ?
The Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, GA.
Training for the Spartan Beast: Because why just run a marathon when you can also dodge alligators and ring bells like a Navy SEAL on a mission to find the Holy Grail?
Couldn’t you just jump to one of the highest rungs on the first obstacle?
Sure.
I disagree, Walking with your legs on Tyro uses much more energy and it better to wear long socks, keep your shoulders close to the rope, and drag your legs to the end, its much faster and a more efficient use of energy.
"3 feet tall asian man, you can do it", come on man.. show a little more class
Seriously, 3 feet tall Asian?
What don't tell me you're offended?
