    You got a link for the clutch and steel plates I've ordered one ended up being wrong one

    I bought cheap clutches and plates from Amazon and now I cant get all of them to go back in. Are they the wrong clutch plates? Are they too thick? I get all but 2 clutch plates and one steel plate to go back in. I'm puzzled. Can you give me an answer to this? Thanks in advance.

    Hello, I was just wondering why you didn't put the last clutch disk in the proper slot before putting everything back together? Did it even matter?

      Didn't matter but for anyone planning to do this you should follow your manufacturers instructions, if the last disk is meant to go into the proper slot then do it. But as I say, it didn't matter for me.

    Hey bondy, thanks for the vid, when you bought the ebc plates did it come with a gasket or did you get a new one? if so from where. thanks a lot.

      Bought one separately. If you're in the UK wemoto supplies them (from memory), alternatively you can buy one from your local OEM parts supplier.

    Do I need to stagger plates? What’s the reason for not aligning notches on plates?

    Did you completely drain the oil before ?
    Also did you replace friction and steels or just frictions ?
    What mileage is she ?
    I've just bought a 1999 zx6r with 44k. And slight clutch judder if engaging hard. Tbinking I might have to sort a new clutch

      Yes completely drained the oil however later learned that isn't necessary and any work to the clutch can be done without draining the oil providing the bike is on the kickstand. I replaced both the friction plates and steels but in hindsight would probably just replace the friction plates.
      60k miles, replaced clutch plates at 50k.
      To state the obvious, things to check first before replacing the clutch: clutch cable slack, correct oil (make sure someone hasn't put car oil into the bike for example, that can cause the clutch to slip at high rpm).
      Does your RPM go up but the bike not responds when engaging hard? That's a "tell tell" sign the clutch needs looking at.

      @@bondy1374 I know this video is years old but just wondering what mileage you took your bike to and if you know what needs doing at what sort of mileage? I have a 1997 at 58k seems to run fine clutch is slipping at high rpm so gonna do that but don’t know what else to look out for it’s my first “big” bike

    When you put the new clutch In. Do the plates have to be placed in a certain pattern? If so, does the bike manual tell you which pattern they need to be in?

    • @bondy1374
      @bondy1374  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes very important they are in the right order, my suggestion for this would be to take the plates out and keep them in the order they came out - you can then replace by using those as your reference ensuring you get them in the right order. Alternatively I'm sure the manual does specify which order they need to be in.

    Nice Video. How long time does it take in real time ?

    • @bondy1374
      @bondy1374  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      For someone who has never changed clutch plates before I would set aside 1 - 2 hours, make sure you take your time. After you've done it once it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes, should you ever need to do it in the future.
