    Ok i picked up an 07 zx6 for $500 it has a bottom end knock. Attempted a valve chain adjustment no change. The rod in the clutch that goes through the throw out bearing is damaged at the tip. And as I don't know anybody that messed with the 07 much I might as well ask a racer. Outside of all crank/rod bearings what are some common bottom end issues with 07-08

    When I bought my clutch pack, it had 2 different thicknesses of steel plates. I assume it matters where they go, but can't find info on that in the manual or online so far. Any advice?

      @@kennq507Nope, the question was regarding the steel plates. What he's talking about there is the contact area of the friction plates - different plates and different measurement.
      I did figure it out a few years ago when I asked the question, but don't remember anymore how that worked out on that bike - sold it over 2 years ago.

    My clutch cable broke I was able to get a replacement, wasn’t the same one I had but it works, now my bike won’t speed passed 60-70mph it just redlines if I full throttle even if I shift it up to 6th gear it doesn’t want to go passed 60mph, can it be cause of my clutch? I know before I was having issues getting my bike into gear when I try an do a pull. It like slips

    Hi Colin watching you from Portugal. Great Video. Bought an accidented (small) ZX6R with 50KKm couldnt engage the clutch and after moving ajusting cable screws plus pressing several times the cluch lever it worked. While riding the bike when i wanted to acelarate fast it would increase rpms but not the speed. Slipping I guess. Next day clutch had a litle course, bike would start moving slowly and, after some tries, I could engage 1st gear but releasing the lever the bike would not move even when accelerating. Any advice, would you say this is a clutch problem? Cheers and keep up with your great videos.

    I bought a 04 zx-6r, drove great and shifted good for the first couple rides till one I turned it off and went to first gear with the clutch and it just died, I can see the clutch moving in the casing but it still dies and when the bike is off there is still some resistance to movement with the clutch lever fully engaged. Not sure what could be the issue or what's causing it not to fully disengage the clutch? Your help would be great.

    Hi, think my clutch is fried on my bike, but never had it happen maybe you can tell me if it is...my bike starts to go like normal then it loses rpm won't move then stalls...even if I rev super high does the same thing

    • @ColinBell321

      If it were gaining rpm while slowing down, it would be the clutch. That sounds like an electrical or fuel/air issue. Check for stored codes in the ECU (see owners or shop manual).

    • @HalfdeadRider
      @HalfdeadRider 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm putting Kevlar friction plates and uprated springs, as with sintered material it gives better grip so your clutch grabs sooner and will have less tendency to slip. Only worth doing if you like to ride quickly, cork are fine for normal gentle riding but will wear quicker if used hard on road or track.

    on bikebandit the diagram show one friction plate, steel plate, friction plate, then the rings..... Is this wrong? cause you put them in before the second friction plate? Jc and Those plates look oem so are only oem packs the ones that come with the two large contact pads friction plates?

    • @ColinBell321
      @ColinBell321  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is correct. The ring OD is smaller than the friction plate ID, so they will sit against the steel plate, even if you install them after the friction plate.
