Chris Megan teams up with Rhode Island carp gurus Dave Pickering, Capt. Jack Sprengel and Erich Medenbach to fish for the biggest freshwater fish in New England. Using European-style carp-fishing techniques the crew hooks up with fish that rival striped bass when it comes to size and strength, while explaining the best tactics for catching these big-scaled bruisers.

You would be shocked on how much us uk anglers spend on gear , loads of different company’s in the uk 🇬🇧 reels , hooks , braided hook links , carp bevy tents and bed chairs for night fishing

So very true! The carp fishing scene is growing here in the US. We don't have as big of carp as Europe but there is a lot of unfished carp waters here in the US. Maybe a huge one is lurking around somewhere.

I wouldn't recommend it. The Blackstone River itself has a lot of pollution issues due to the industrial revolution. They are working to clean it up however.

Invasive Fish Kill It....!!!! they eat everything plants and animals smaller then they are, and make it impossible for native fish to thrive....

Your thinking of silver and Asian carp, these are common carp. Common carp are a non native but they are naturalized and have a relatively low impact on the ecosystem. Kind of like brown trout or pheasants.

I know exactly where these guys are! In my humble uneducated opinion! These carp are an invasive species! They are Bottom Feeders they suck up all the eggs Exedra from the other species including Turtles frogs we were fishing that spot 35 years ago there was an abundance of bass trout Turtles and frogs we never ever caught a carp now there are hardly any Turtles any frogs and the only fish in there are carp! This is just an uneducated observation after 40 Years of Living quarter of a mile from that exact Pond that they are on! FYI It's included in a 40 million-dollar EPA Hazmat contamination site

Mirror and commmon carp have been in the us ever since the 1800,they have equaled out with the ecosystem.the Asain carp are way way worse, they were introduced in the late 1900s.pepole confuse the two wich are not even related.I've lived in cumberland my whole life and I know whatcha talking about with that place in particular,it's gotten like that because carp can survive in more harsh conditions compared to other fish
