Hi Steve what a place that is .I’ve recently started carp fishing again after an 8 year break due to work and kids . Now I’m back on the bank I’m absolutely in my element I have been looking for a syndicate to join but after looking at the array of them as I live in Essex. I’ve decided to pick one next summer . Instead I’ve decided to go back to where I first fished as an infant belhus park Essex as I was influenced by Carl and Alex vids on there park lake so I’m hoping the old big Girls are still there for me to find . 🎣 next year I would like to take the wife and kid to cassien can you recommend any guide etc .

Hi Steve, i just came across your channel. Awesome stuff my friend !You have to come back to the states and fish the St Lawrence again. That's where we met in 2005 when you and Tim won the first American WCC. Oh boy, how time flies. Stay well ! -Marius

I'm glad you enjoyed your time hear in Tennessee. I fish Dale Hollow a lot as it's an hours drive for me. Dale Hollow is a special lake. I'm a bass fisherman and not a carp fisherman. Dale Hollow is the best smallmouth bass fishery in the south eastern United States. The carp and bass share the same flats on the lake every spring and every spring I have wonderful conversations with funny sounding people like yourself whom come from all over the world to fish for carp. Glad you enjoyed your trip and I hope you have a chance to make it back.
The second place you guys set up shop is one of my favorite places to catch big smallmouth at night during the summer time. I'm not exactly sure what days you guys were here, but I can tell the water had already been drawn down to winter pool. Unfortunately the weather has been so hot during the start of the fall here because you guys would have normally had much better weather to fish in. The heat stayed a few weeks longer than it usually does.
Joshua Bentley we had such a great time at Dale Hollow and what made it special was that everyone was so friendly and made us feel welcome. The fishing was fantastic and the carp are unusual as there are so many fully scaled mirror carp! It’s nice that we can all share and enjoy this lovely piece of water!!! I hope we can get back sometime and fish there again 👍🏻👍🏻🙂
Amazing Steve, as always great Video. It is so funny, so many carp and nobody is fishing on them. We all in Europe want to have that. But the grass is always greener on the other side 😉
foxfod80 yes it’s great to fish somewhere so good that isn’t busy with carp anglers! I think there’s a few more in the spring but no real numbers for a lake of that size!!
I live probably 20mins from dale hollow and just started really carp fishing it this year. Hope to get out a ton more this spring. Awesome video and nice carp man.
USA Carp fishing thanks very much!! We absolutely loved the place and still talk about it all the time - fantastic memories - good luck and have a great time when you go again👍🏻👍🏻🙂🙂🙂
@@stevebriggs4638 I appreciate the reply Steve and from one Englishman to another you are very welcome to come stay in North Carolina anytime and I mean that ✌️😃
Really enjoyed the video! Thought it was very cool to show exactly how you approached the venue and how you fished it. A lot of videos keep you guessing. There are so many waters in the US that are untouched and hidden gems pop up from time to time. Glad you got to come fish here again and both of you enjoyed your stay. Hope to meet up with you someday when you come back.
a good friend of us live in Louisville...this year we had planed to visit him in Kentucky but the Pandemic didnt allow us to do this. Dwayne is also a fisherman and he recommended us this Lake just because of those beautiful scale pattern...as a flyfisher i can recommend also the Appalachian Mountains. My main goal for this trip is the endemic Brook trout...a small but beautiful trout..considered in everything..."Virginia - Kentucky" must be a wonderful experience...now i have a nice Preview, what we have to expect, when we will fish at this wonderful Lake for carp...great film about a great Lake! Thank you Steve
Thanks Martin I absolutely loved Dale Hollow and everything about it!! The fish were stunning but the scenery and atmosphere on Dale Hollow was amazing. To visit Louisville was an unexpected bonus but as a lifelong Ali fan it's something I'll never forget.
Hey Steve just watched both videos, yours and Carl and Alex I moved to Canada in 97 and fish a large lake in Saskatchewan , pretty much fish the same place due to time restrictions, caught thousands of carp in the last few years , as you said it is different ,I never fish long sessions,I usually fish a few days but never set up to fish right through ,I luckily have nice trailer and have is situated 5 minutes from one of my best friends who lives right on the water so fish from his dock ,we bait with rolled corn which is basically the maize but it’s rolled which allows you to just soak it in water for and hour and it’s ready to go so no boiling . I fish pretty basic , hair rigged 10 mil pineapple ,yellow boilies, tipped with fake corn on a size 4 or 6 wide gape,I would have to say I’ve become a bit lazy after fishing so many years in Yorkshire but it works , we have a one rod rule here but to be honest there are lots of times when they are on the feed that’s all you can use as it’s crazy at times catching 20 plus fish in a session and having runs before you have chance to set the rod on the pod, anyway enjoyed watching both videos just thought if you go again rolled corn save a lot of time. Cheers Mick
Hi Mick thanks for the message and the advice on the rolled corn - that sounds perfect!!! It looks like you've found your own paradise out there and enjoying life so good on you Mick - carry on enjoying mate and thanks for watching the vid!!!
I'm a big fan of yours you definitely catch some gorgeous fish brother the us has alot of great places for carp in a untapped resource over here most the carp here have never been caught
Pleased you both made it to Dale Hollow, Steve. It is a special place for us US carpers, the fish, the scenery....and the access which is so much better than we have in many waters. The US is certainly not set up for carp Anglers! Hope you can come back again soon.
Timothy Marshall we loved every minute. I really like the fact that so little has really been opened up to carp fishing - at least on a big scale - is all part of the charm. It’s like the best days across Europe when there was still so much to discover.
Right, Steve, had the chance to fish Kent through the sixties and seventies, now I am fortunate to fish where there is still mystery ( but not much bankspace!).
Blimey you do get about mate, but as always it’s a pleasure watching a true Kent carp angler smashing it, I just wish I had the time myself to do what u do , your a very lucky man Steve x
Brilliant video Steve and Joan. Good to see Dave on there as well ( met him and his other sidekick Zach a few times in Holland and The UK). Will have to try and get out to Dale Hollow one day.
I'm fortunate to live right on Dale Hollow Lake. Well at least about 10 minutes away Max. It is definitely turned into a carp fishing hot spot. I did not realize this till last year when people were pulling out 35 lb carp. And releasing them which was a good thing. I catfish this Lake and it is Flathead time down here now. And I'm sure the carp are biting as well. Hope you catch a big one

The U.S. really is something else. There's SOOO much water, so few carp anglers, and all wild carp. Just scrolling around on Google maps, any carp angler can go completely insane. The potential is unimaginable. It may sometimes seem like the U.S. doesn't have as big of fish, but trust me there are plenty. They're just harder to find. There really is every type of water under the sun. Lake Superior of 20+ million acres and 1,300+ feet deep, the rest of the great lakes, the St. Lawrence Seaway, Dale Hollow, the mighty Mississippi River, the Colorado River, the massive reservoirs of Texas, the huge expanse of brackish waters of the east coast, the wide open lakes of the plains states, the hot swampy lakes of the southeast, the thousands and thousands of small (a few thousand to about 5 acres) lakes of the Midwest. Not to mention the absurd amount of lakes in Canada that are even more untouched and unexplored that the U.S. lakes. It's like a whole new era of pioneering for the carp fishing world and not many people are giving it the attention it truly deserves. It's one thing to show up to a small UK pond with the names of all the biggest fish in them that have been caught by everyone and their brother and it's a whole other ball game to have you and a buddy tackle a series of thousand acre reservoirs in search of massive carp that have never even seen a hook. We're so spoiled with waters, especially here in Michigan, that if a friend catches a carp from a lake, I don't even want to fish it because it's not as exciting knowing that someone else has already caught from there. Idk how you guys do it in the UK. I would be so bored.
