Thanks Wayne! After infusion #4 it has taken a bit longer to get back to normal again but I am already starting work on some gardening videos (I can't wait for spring!)
I'll keep praying for you, my older sister went through chemo in the 70's and 80's for bone cancer and then lung cancer, so I know that you are in a lot of pain. My sister was in her 20's threw her 30's dealing with the cancer and chemo for more than 20 years, M.D. Anderson Hospital helped her, that is were she got her chemo done. She passed away almost 5 years ago from heart problems at the age of 64.
Keeping you in my prayers. Don't know if you will need transfusions at any point, but a reminder to those who can and would be willing. Being a blood donor can save lives. It's just something to think about.
Thank you! My anemia has gone from mild to moderate- the red blood cell count doesn't quite make it back up after each infusion. So they have said they can do an infusion if it gets too severe but I am hoping it will level off. I remember how excited I was the first time I was able to give blood- at a blood drive in high school. And I remember working to get my "one gallon pin". It is great to give while you can just out of kindness but also knowing that someday it may be your turn to receive.
I really believe you are only as old as you feel, I know everyone says that but I do tend to believe and lean that way in my thinking. My wife Kim and myself pray for you every night. I really do think you are so brave for facing this head on. My grandmother in-law has her second?? , Don't count me on that it may be third, fight with cancer ,she lives in Florida, but she isn't fighting it with any treatment this time and I think she is so brave for doing it that way..... I know, it's not like you have a choice or anything but still both you and her still put on your best face and just be good people. We really appreciate you and thank you for letting all of us into your life.
Thanks! I have heard people can guess your age just from how much noise you make getting up from sitting- and some days that is pretty noisy! : ) The anemia is probably one of the most "dragging down" side effects of the chemo. The mind has big plans for the day in the morning but by afternoon energy is in short supply. I hope your grandmother in-law is going well.
@@parristx she said she will enjoy her final 6 months (Dr said) doing what she wants. She line dances ( now virtually lol) and plays euchre,if I have spelt that right..... But now virtually. All that at 96!!! Oh she also chases seagulls on her section of the beach in her golf cart. I can only picture that.lol she has done a chemo and pill??? treatment several times before but she said at 96 she can't do it again. We hope you and your family are all well.
So sorry to hear that you are having to go through all this. You must make sure that you take it easy & look after yourself. Sending you & your family lots of love xxx
God bless you Parris. I will definitely keep you in my prayers. That #6 sounds great. I'm hoping it is even lower this week. Please let us know. Take care and be well.
Thanks! The PSA numbers continue to drop- but they can't know how much of that is the chemo shrinking the cancer and how much is from the hormone lowering medication. I will have another MRI in March and then they will know.
The good thing about the liver is that it can heal itself. I was in hospital recently because of an illness and it made my liver function crash. My stats were all over the place. My ALT which is usually around 50 as a Normal level was at 950. Can't remember the other figures because I was tripping balls with all the IV meds they had me on, but every blood test they did, 3 per day was all over the show, each figure up and down. Anyway I'm rambling. It's great to see you in such high spirits. Positivity really is key. Good luck with the next half. Hope they don't make you feel too bad. 🙂
Sorry to hear you were in the hospital. I hope you are recovering well. My liver test numbers on my last blood work a week ago were still elevated- but not by too much. It would be nice if they would at least get back into the normal range before the next infusion. I will hope my liver is resilient as yours is!
@@parristx thank you. It wiped me out for a few months but I'm much better now. I'm sure your liver will be ok. To help mine recover as fast as possible they gave me a list of things that are good for the liver, I was surprised coffee was on the list. Walnuts is another, garlic, spinach... struggling to remember the list now but I lived off all the things for a while and my results soon improved ☺ best of luck for your next infusion.
Thanks Katherine! I have a friend who used to live in Curitiba. I know Brazil has been hard hit by the Coronavirus- hope you are staying safe and well.
Following you you tube clips as I am identical in my Prostate cancer journey. I am exactly half way through my 6 week journey having dosetaxel (same as your taxetere I think) experiencing much the same the same reactions however I have had 6 months of hormone therapy followed by 1 month of radiation so after a 4 month holiday they decided that I should have the 6 chemo treatments as an insurance policy.just for your info my PSA was2.1 and is now .8 so it all seems to be working. Next argument will be with oncologist asI want another holiday after chemo, but she seems to want me beck on hormone therapy Keep up the good work and love your very honest posts De nis
Thanks Denis! I wonder if chemo is becoming a more standard part of prostate cancer treatment? My medical oncologist told me that great strides had been made in breast cancer treatment over the decades but improved treatments for prostate cancer were really lagging behind. Glad to hear you are getting good results! I know what it is like to want a vacation from Lupron. I had an unintentional break from it when they messed up one of my shots about a year into treatment. I felt so good- my anemia improved, my white blood count got almost back up to normal and even my dry mouth went away. Until they got a proper shot of Lupron in me and the side effects came back even worse. I have about six more months of no testosterone and then my treatment plan will be finished and I will see what my numbers do. I am sticking it out for the full three years on Lupron so I won't have any regrets that I didn't do everything I could.
When I went through 20 weeks of chemo in 2017, I watched season 5 of Veep. Every day. I slept through alot of it, but it was like a constant in my life. I know what you mean about getting through it!
You're doing great Parris. And yeah that is true about it aging u I didn't notice anything different till I showed close up tho but then I saw what u mean. U still look great tho
I'm glad you are writing it down in your journal. It's funny that you still want to use the eyebrow stamps.🤣🤣🤣 I had eye brow tattoo stickers and they were absolutely terrible. 😅
A viewer on our Rainy Day Dreamers channel shaved off her eyebrows and would draw them in daily in different colors and in shapes to match her mood. It just struck me as so interesting that she could "show a different face" to the world with something so simple as the curve of a line above her eyes.
Hey. I just want to ask you to pray for me. A guy at my dads work has COVID 19 and my dad could possibly have it again! He had is in August and he could possibly have it again.
Believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST and you will be saved you and your family. JESUS CHRIST himself took our infirmities and bore all our sicknesses. He was wounded for our iniquities and bruised for our transgressions and with His stripes we are healed. The blood test was perfect and the doctors were surprised. Before the scan God gave this verse Colossians 2:14, 15. Blotting out the handwriting of the ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way nailing it to his cross, And having spoiled principalities and powers he made a show of them will triumphing over them in it. The scan report came cancer free. Praise the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY FATHER in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST who made us mighty witnesses to show that Jesus Christ is the only true living God.
