You could replace the plywood floor boards with HDPE high density polyethylene plywood substitute
Nice mate
Are you going to paint the outside?
Yeah.... the code definitely doesn't work.
Our Family could probably live in there, Nice Work mate
The only complaint I have about your videos is that I wish they were longer. I could watch this all day.
Yep. Me too. Love some AYO
And they are immature
@@michaeldes1800 - Oh boo hoo! 😂
second that
@@michaeldes1800 Oh yeah, God forbid a couple of buds have some fun documenting their work on a project. Can't have that now can we?
Putz 🙄
That is a fantastic quick remodel, the only recommendation I would have is to add a little bit of bracing to the bed doors to keep it from bowing when you walk across... If you place a 4x4 brace at the top and bottom of the doors where they meet and then give each door a 2x4 brace along the long edge it would be perfect and feel like a solid floor when closed
Tacking on an idea to this comment: When the bed doors are latched up, make the underside of the doors more pretty. Don’t want Gravy to see bare plywood as he goes to sleep.
Glad you decided to fix up the interior a bit to make it livable for a few days at a time. Progress so far is top notch. For extra bunks maybe explore the possibility of installing hooks or rings to attach hammocks to. They would not get in the way of the interior and are pretty relaxing though I have never attempted to spend the night on one.
I've done hammock camping before, they're very comfortable to sleep in
@@Shrimp_Insurance d r4😢❤❤❤+!6😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊66y😊
I like this idea. I used to sleep in a hammock, they're super comfortable. :)
That's a really good idea. They can be completely stowed away like sailors did back in the day.
...and be gently rocked to sleep...zzzzzz
I thought life boats had no roof...like in the Titanic
You should rig up some simple overhead lighting with like small can lights that run off a battery pack so that way, in the evening, if it's buggy, you can close it up and still have light. Also, you should put screens on the two holes above the bed so you can open them up on nice nights and look up at the stars as you lay in bed.
Just snuggling with the bros, watchin the stars.
What
Yeah I was gonna say you need big screens

Looks great so far. I would have to say you’ll at least need to drill some holes in the mattress base for ventilation. A foam mattress without ventilation underneath will get mold in it. Learned that the hard way and was out a grand on the mattress. So Swiss cheese that base to keep the one and only Gravy safe
I LOVE how AYO treats DavyGravy and also includes he as much as he can. Great Job dude.
2:37 Where you're standing at this timestamp, I'd install a Murphy bed on the wall. Then do another Murphy bed opposite this. You can fit a twin mattress into that space. Then take your forward area and turn that into a living room/kitchen area.
That sure is fancy TEMPSC you got there. I’ve spent over a decade inside these things as a survival instructor and I’ve always wanted to see one turned into a floating RV /party vessel. Kudos to you sir
Man I've been LOVING following along on this. Maybe I'm biased because I'm Norwegian myself, but honestly I would have an absolute blast building up a big "RV-esque" interior in this. Fun nights on the water, prepared for stormy weather (not Daniels), but able to still be comfortable and dry would be awesome.
Break out the beers, let the rain fall and sing some sea shanties!
You should put some killz paint on the walls to get rid of and protect from mold/mildew. As well as make sure you have some desiccant in there to help prevent more mold
You do know all kilz is , is a primer and stain blocker... Just an industry misconception that somehow kilz is a mold killer...
I would have cut that forward center storage boxes out. Make a flat floor all the way forward as possible. Put bunkbeds on both sides forward. Have top bunks fold up, and a removable table between the two bottom bunks. Maybe even have the two bottom bunks fold up out of the way also. Lots of space
That would make the boat much more useable for different outings. Can even add a walkway around the edge
Would definitely be a good idea to put a Maxxair fan or two on that thing. They can either blow air in or exhaust air out.
😂it had me cracking up when ayo’s helper said his eyes were burning and it was in his mouth💩💨😂
Heck yeah. I was thinking it needed some air rotation.
Yeah, Ayo is pretty stinky. 🥸
Word 👍👍
Hello, I like the idea of keeping it as water tight as possible. So, no new exterior holes.
Please put the lifeboat videos in a playlist on your channel they are so good I never thought I would be so invested in the success of a boat, but here we are
Davey is the friends everybody needs. He is awesome and uncensored.
If he came up with the casket bit on his own he is also a comedian!
All the ladies want daveys baby gravey! 👌🍻😂😊
🤣 Ya beat me to basically the same comment! I think everyone needs a Davey Gravy best buddy!😎
lol that’s my favorite thing ab Davey. Says exactly what’s on his mind 😂
Friends don't let friends be suckered by stupid. Nobody needs stupid friends.
I love seeing how Ayo's growth with working on these boats has evolved in just the past year!!! Great job!!! You should be sooo proud of yourself! ❤
Like...BMI?
Love the video, and the boat foam. Personally I would add a hatch/door to the dry storage under the queen bed that opens up on the side. That way its a lot more usable, who wants to move a mattress out of the way every time you access it. Some form of cargo netting might be nice for putting backpacks, bags/ etc tight to the wall out of the way may be nice. Fishing rod holders somewhere as well. Looks great though I love your videos. Would love to buy a project boat like that.
So glad to see Davy Gravy say he will spend a night in it. That should be another great video. I have enjoyed watching your skills and confidence grow in these boat builds. I look for a new video from you daily.
Testing Testing 123
Your gonna need lighting inside I would have thought you'd rise the bed so that you could use a double bed below as above, bunk style, and create more storage? and make more storage cabinets for clothing, fishing gear, or whatnots, or room for extra fishing gear or how about a bathroom? If your gonna spend any length of time, what about a shower? I guess it depends if your only gonna stay for a few days or months. It's a good job though!
I gotta say, the mom in me thought you had LOST your ever lovin MIND when you purchased this monster of a lifeboat. But now I'm thinking WOW! This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time! You've done an awesome job with it! I'm totally impressed! Love the videos!
20:56 Add a thin 4 inch wide lip to the bottom of one of the doors so that two inches are attached to the door and two inches overhang towards the other door. This way you drop that door first, then the other door and it will "seal up" better and you won't get blankets/sheets pinched and poking through the crack that you do at this point in the video.
Dude I’m 14 and I started watching your videos without any boats. Now I started your watching your videos a year and a half ago and I own two boats both which were made before the year of 1980. Love your videos keep it up.
I'm really late. But thank you for posting. It gives me somthing to take my mind of life.
My Dad and I love your videos, we love to see all the progress on the Itty Bitty and the life boat!!
This is awesome. Been binge watching these lifeboat videos.

That was a great video and we need a repeat. You can add a dash of Gravy if you like also!!!
😂CANNOT get ENOUGH of DAVY 😂❤
Yep he’s my favorite hands down.
He's Golden😇
You should get some lounge chairs to sit and hang in the "living area" above the bed, so you can hang out inside too. The kind that then fold out to a twin bed and the other buddies can sleep comfortably too. Maybe throw in some cup holders up top and below so your beverages of choice are secure. Your humor gets me so often, I have to rewind and listen a few times. Great stuff!!!
I think you have the right color with the blue. The bed looks like it went well. Can't wait to see the first cruse with the new interior!
so you should make some pull out storage containers to fit under the bed, looks like some long rod holders would go great under there, and you blocked off the dry storage area, but if it isn't an air tight bulkhead you could cut into the front of it and place hinges there for pfd storage or something else, won't lie semi jealous of this build because you could really really turn that thing into the complete houseboat/water camper lol
This is so cool. Your improvements made a huge difference in the feel of the interior. I can’t wait for the adventure with Davey!
you've done a kick ass job dude can't wait to see the boat when it's completely finished and in the water
Dude that’s effin dope! Can’t wait to see it in the water. So hurry up.
Excited and invested to see the evolution of the boat🤩well done so far, it looks great!👏🏽
Great to see the plans for the USS Tic-Tac coming along!
Just a future FYI..?
If you have access to Google Lens, it will translate text for you from any language into English (or any language to any language). It will also identify plants, flowers, trees, insects etc for you. Just fire it up, select the right category and hold the camera lens up to your subject. I've used it on plants and flowers I've known all my life but haven't known the names off (plus others I've not seen before).
In the case of the translation, it will overlay the English on the screen so you can get a reasonably direct translation from what you're looking at? It's super useful if you're out and about on your home turf or if you're abroad on holiday and want to translate street signs, menus etc?
As for fixtures and fittings....For the platform deck when the bed is closed away (brilliant idea BTW) some really big bean bags, maybe a bean bag sofa or two for comfy seating, loads of big giant floor cushions too, make that area into a real lounge/splurge area. A solar panel hook up to keep your power topped off, you could get a nice flatscreen tv in there for chilling on a night time, you could get some great rod storage in there (maybe similar to the rod keepers that Lojo has on his big bass boat) but fix them to the ceiling in between access hatches so you're not going to step on them and break them?
Other tackle storage for lures, terminal tackle, PLIERS!!! SCALES!!!!!!!!!!!! NETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Cos we all know how you ALWAYS have them to hand when you fish for bass and hook a biggun... ;)) )
Maybe add a fish finder and liveview system to it?
Maybe have a couple of Bows stored in it so you can do some Bow fishing if they're not biting and you get bored?
You could get some cool waterproof LED strips and run them around the ceiling perimeter, they even come designed so you can cut them and add different shaped connectors in to make them turn through 90 degrees or T joint or even Y joint and run in different directions. They're a super low voltage draw and very bright, some even come with a bluetooth app so you can change the colours and have them flash or react to sound? Talking of which, you could get an EPIC sound system in there too.
Up top you need some low lever beach type chairs for chilling when you fish, you could even have a mini BBQ grill (like those small barrel ones) for doing some summer time cooking outside, you've definitely got the space for it!
I hope this has given you a little bit of inspiration and maybe something you'd not thought of... if you went for any of what I've posted, I'd be super stoked on the contribution (would love a shoutout if you do, maybe an invite for a fishing voyage? I'd totally spend the cash on flights to hop over the pond for it!!!!)
Keep on keeping on AYO... it'll look fab whatever you decide.
Awesome work! I really hope you bring the old guy who sold it to you along for a personal tour once it is finished! Or maybe even sail it down to where he lives (I'm not sure if the distances would be prohibitive though!) 😄
This a really cool idea. TEMPSCs are designed to be airtight and basically last forever in saltwater environments yet ran for 5 minutes a quarter so the engine and hull are practically brand new.
I do hate the be that guy but I will point out that this is NOT a free fall lifeboat as mentioned in all of the videos which is a good thing. Freefall boats are made so that all of the interior is built at an angle with chairs facing backwards and lots of steel structure to support and protect its occupants during a launch, which you would of had to work around.
This boat would be launched by a gravity davit on a pair of cables (falls) which are released by a mechanism by the coxswain once lowered into the water. This is a much better candidate for a houseboat conversion than a freefall design.
Next I vote you put an AC unit and a diving board on it!
I love your videos they make my day and I really enjoy seeing your boat builds.
You cant imagine how much you helped me through depressive and anxious episodes throughout the last year. I love your channel! Never stop doing what youre doing🤘🏼
I just love ❤ the friendship that you and Dave Gravey have. He does not beat around the bush and tells it like it is. I think he keeps you on your toes because you never know what he’s thinking and just says what’s on his mind. AYO, your sponsor ads are through the roof and make LOL on everyone. Keep up the comedy! Your sense of humor is what everyone needs. THANK YOU!! 😂😂
One of my neighbors put a pop-up camper on top of a pontoon boat a couple weeks ago. It was crazy. They rigger up this massive ramp to get it up there and everything. I'm pretty sure you can take credit for giving him that idea :)
I see lots of potential. I can't quite imagine what you might do with all that potential but good luck! I'd keep in mind that a lifeboat is made to survive rough OCEAN conditions, not necessarily in comfort but with a margin of safety.
This is #14 on trending currently, glad to see it, you make some of the best content out there. Never change!
Hi guys, why don’t you use A ladder to get through one of the Hatches onto the roof , it’s really big inside keep up the good work. Good to see Davey gravy getting involved , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 from the big island 🏝️
I really truly get happy when I see an ayo video , but you know what excites me ?
SEEING MY BOY GRAVY !!! love that guy so much his a legend
Hey AYO, I think you can better utilize the space if you cut your bed in half and made each side like a murphy bed. You could probably keep most of what you built and just tweak it. This way your bed is stored out of the way against the wall until you need it. And you wont have to worry about doors falling on you, worst case scenario.
Your friendship with gravy is second to none. I admire that.
You could add another alternator on the engine that would charge a battery pack for lights and such.
I was thinking some solar panels on the roof would be killer.
Alternate use for that folding bed top thing: keep the doors flipped up most of the time, then the space between the doors and the hull can conveniently be used as a hamper. Come laundry day, just unlatch the doors, and wham, there's all your laundry ready to be stuffed into laundry bags lol. I could also see replacing the fuel engine with electric in a way that allows the prop to free-spin and generates some power. Perhaps a craft like this could have one of those sail-kite systems made extra rugged for downwind runs. Great time to recharge your electricity with the prop lol. I think the folks I saw that made an Arctic cruiser out of a 100-person lifeboat did that. I love the idea of turning one of these into an all-season tiny home.
I honestly never thought this boat would turn out so good! Time for some adventures!
The dash to the engine is in norwegian, i´m half norwegian so if you want it translatet just let me know. Very basic stuff, tells you to glow the engine max. 30sec before start, check the battery charging light, main battery breaker and stuff like that. Love the show!
These things are designed and built to take an absolute flogging so I don't think you'll run into structural issues.
I think you could get more useable deck space outside if you look at making some "wings" that hinge at the gunwhale level and fold up for movement on a trailer or the water. They can be secured to points on the side of the upper deck. Aluminium would be a good material to build the base frame out of. That way you have deck space without having to be on the roof and restricted in its usefulness, even if it's just grating and not solid decked.
When Googling "64 person lifeboat" you fill the entire first page! WIN!!! lol
Definitely look into some solar panels for house power. Just like an RV or camper. The Jackery, EcoFlow and Bluetti systems are awesome, but having something that you don't need to constantly check and recharge pays for itself.
The sheer size of this boat gives her huge amounts of potential just due to the amount of interior space.
I think the interior space would be much better with floor boarding right across the bottom starting from the side seating height, so it's one even floor throughout the whole vessel. It looks like the roof is high enough to do that. That way there is a lot more space to put a bed, table, chairs, etc. It would also enable storage under the floor and the engine would be under the floor with access to it. I would also spend time and money carefully designing the interior after making it watertight. Might need a woman's touch lol. Also add a small toilet/shower section. Oh, and paint the outside white with nice trimming. The outside would be a whole other project to be honest, such as changing most of the openings into windows with one doorway. Obviously, everything would have to match the shape, but that's part of its uniqueness.
You did an excellent freaking job on this boat. It looks great on the inside. Can’t wait to see if you choose to do more to it. Also can’t wait to see when you camp in it. I’d like to see you take a week trip in this boat
Just an FYI you can get paint and have them mix it at different percentages so you have the same color but lighter. Get that paint at 50% and I think you would like it much better. That is a cool boat. I have never seen anything like it. Cannot wait for the finish. You know this would have been a great cabin for Lojo’s pond or a nice tiny house. That cabinet under the Matress making open from the front and have a place for pillows and blankets.
Loving these boat restoration videos! Between the Itty Bitty and the life boat, looks like there are many good times to be had in the future! Can't wait to see them both completed!
Have you considered putting some solar panels on the roof? You might be able to somehow create brackets that allow you to have the panels be removable, and this upgradeable, plus they could be stowed inside in case of inclement weather (hail, sleet, etc.).
I don’t know why but everytime I see bug boats like this I just wanna fish off of them and live in them for a few days
Gravy is the best. AYO help gravy get a fishing channel rolling and y'all run it together please. He's the best man
Ayo are you planning on painting the outside at all? If so I'd love to see it done in a way thats not done often, such as colorful stripes, zebra print, neon colors, your fishing shirt patterns, something fun like that! The boat looks fantastic so far and would love to see some Ayo flair to the outside too!
That's what I was thinking about! I was thinking it'd be really cool if you can turn it into like a camper. Maybe you could put a bed inside there, and a table with a couple chairs. Put a radio inside, and some books. Maybe you can even put solar panels on it somewhere so you can have electricity to at least brew a cup of coffee and run a laptop computer and some lights and a mini fridge. You know, kind of like all the Comforts of home. You might want to clean it up really good on the inside and give it a brand new paint job on the inside first, and maybe even lay some carpeting in it. Maybe even add a couple plants, and a couple pictures on the wall. Oh, and don't forget the rod and reels and the fishing tackle box. The possibilities are endless!
Love to see the progress on the life boat 😎😎😎😎😎
Can't wait to see the exterior mods! Should add some windows to the side doors, but keep them as doors. Maybe light grey beige top the exterior, leave the main hull orange, add antislip, but keep all the bumpers as is! Maybe revisit the steering and instruments...
I can't wait to see the 24 hours with Gravy those are the videos that can make anyone smile, That friendship is something special and I am also excited to see the lifeboat turn into something you can camp in on the water. That is one of my dreams is to sleep on the water and fish as the sun comes up. Thank you for all these videos and all the effort and hard work that goes into them.
Love the build so far, great idea on the coffin doors for the bed/deck. My only critique would be to put a tarp or something waterproof over the coffin doors when shut so no water or dirt comes through the seam. It would be a bummer to go all day and settle down to realize you have a soggy mattress to sleep on all night.
Hey @AYO Fishing, have you considered cutting in window in the front and along the sides. (above the waterline of course) You could use plexiglass to bend in the shape of the hull. You could probably put in some pretty big windows without much trouble and still keep the profile of a lifeboat. It would also make it much more comfortable and enjoyable to be below.
We are so blessed to be able to sit down and enjoy this build progress in a 22 minute video. Cant imagine the hard work you guys are putting in! Cant wait for the next one!
Davey was bringing the heat on this one! I was surprised how dark the gray paint made the interior.
AYO and Davey.. the love of God at work.. This is the glue that keeps me watching... God Bless and God Speed.
Kindly suggestion. Put long pieces of a soft plastic of rubber running the entire length of the "coffin doors." Two strips over the hinges and one that will overlap the opposite door. That way when condensation happens, and it will, you have at least some protection for the mattress.
It's refreshing to see someone on TH-cam be their real self. Keep up the baggers also, Davey is always fire 🔥
I wanna see more than just 1 video out of this! Looks amazing, could definitely get some rod holders and do plenty of catfishing in this rig. Give her green underglow all around and make her a magnet. Great video as always ayo
I don't have anything to do with fishing... never even held a rod or a fish! but stubled upon your channel and instantly subscribed literally to watch this boat build! And any future builds of this nature! Who knows what the future might hold I may end up sat by the lake in a bivvy this time next year.
The life boat is the perfect base for a 100% custom and epic build. Please take your time with it and do it right, it's amazing.
you should talk to your naval architect guy and ask him about this -- imo to make yourself more space you really gotta start cutting out some of those unnecessary fiberglass structures -- the thing you want to put the bed over is a big one, if you get rid of that and cut out the seats molded into the walls you add a HUGE amount of space for residential furniture!
Gravy makes EVERYTHING BETTER, even TH-cam videos! Good to see you buddy!
Gravy is the best 😅😂
This is why I like AYO. While Norm is blowing all his money over and over on budget videos, AYO is spending his money wisely building this and making it super interesting.
It needs more amenities. First. Needs 24 in flat screen television. Need to add some plush comfortable seating, inside. Also, needs lighting, inside, so you can chill inside at night or when it rains. Need to add more accessible ladders inside and to get to the top. Add walkie talkies. So, when someone is on top, they can talk to someone inside and via vera. Needs a Camera. So when your inside, you can see what is happening outside, on the 24 inch flat screen. You need a frig! Also, needs a place to store garbage. And what about number 2? Also, the topside needs some kind of chairs, so multiple people can chill on the top side. And, some kind of BBQ and a toaster oven. Also, need those fishing-pole holders. So then not using the fishing poles, can just put them up in those holders. Probably needs some kind of tackle box for the top side (that is bolted down) so it not falling off the roof into the water. Need a fish cleaning area. If your going to catch and eat the fish. Put down some of that anti-slip tape on the top side. (get it a boat marine store).
I swear your videos went into a completely crazy but cool and unique direction you are the BOATMAN much love ayo!
haha episodes with Davey Gravy are always so entertaining. Love the genuine friendship you guys have and the banter just makes it
Davey gravy is that awesome friend that will always tell you the truth no matter what.
Girthy Girl is looking great! I hope you actually name the lifeboat Girthy Girl with name plates since the Itty Bitty needs a boating bestie! Love the contrast of the light blue paint and brown foam padding. Install some strong hooks / rings so you can hang a few hammocks for extra sleeping possibilities! Bring along a fully charged decent sized portable battery bank and you can go on some nice extended trips. Well Done.
DAVY definitely been missing him in the videos excited to see him back.
Love your work mate 🇦🇺
That looks really good man. Can’t wait to see you and Gravy out in it!!

Awesome job on the boat. Can’t wait for the 24 hour challenge with gravy. Thank you
Man, AYO, you are BOAT RICH!! Damn! You have quite a few boats.
That floor, and the interior, looks great! Good for you, man. Thanks for sharing.
Not going to lie Ayo I'm pretty impressed with your carpentry skills. I was a carpenter for 8 years building bridges in the Midwest. If you ever need a carpenter I'd be more than happy to come help. You're awesome man! 😂👍🏻 love the vids!!
Brilliant Vid! Davey is Great as always, raw and real! Loving the upgrades, you need better ladders on side of the boat with maybe a hand rail and fishing platform. :) Keep doing the Awesome stuff. Really enjoying seeing your work!
Looking awesome. love the hard work you've put into this project just to take Mr. Gravvy on a life boat cruise. Have you thought about a rope ladder for the side to get up to it?? heck a rope ladder to get to the roof from the inside would be very nautical.
Absolutely 💯 love your relationship with the Davey. 😂 Best content on the toobz.
I love this channel. I'd have built the bed differently so you could still use that huge storage compartment but that's the beauty of watching people do things their own way, it gives ideas and makes us all want our own 64 person lifeboat to build
for the future, Use vinegar on mold and mildew. it works best at killing all the mildew so it wont come back.. Im a boatbuilder so Im not just blowing smoke.. i love this boat, it has so much potential. I would love to build your interior and make it dope! hit me up if you need any professional help or advice.
So glad you wore a respirator 😂
Love your builds more than the fishing man! Hope to see some more content poured into the lifeboat and itty bitty!
Prediction: You're going to want to redo some of that bed after you stay in that baby a few times. While it's a cool idea, there are some things that could be done for a better, safer, and cleaner fit and finish that will also prevent any accidental spills from soaking your matrice. I thought, at first, that you were going to design it to be a bed that would fold up from the sides (matrice and all) into the center, making a normal height table top with lots of seating on each side... Missed opportunities, I guess. But, the beauty is, you can do whatever you want, as many times as you want, because it's your boat. I sure hope you put more planning into the solution for the roof and its access, though. That part is a death trap as it is now, and could end up worse if you ain't careful. Good luck. I can't wait to see what you come up with.🖖
This… this and itty bitty is the content we need
