@@wizardglick1 yes it was!
I can watch this over and over, and every time it cracks me up!
Five of the neatest guys ever.
Better music from 5 Neat Guys then most groups today.
And they did their own vocals, no autotune.
I guess this comment was inevitable.
Well doo wop is always awesome and I was born in 1988. My father raised me on that music.
My dad was Canadian so we visited family a lot so I got to watch em on real Canadian tv in a real Canadian rec room. Classic
Holy bejeebers, the quiet intensity coming off of Rick Moranis is smoldering.
One of the things I love about SCTV is the fact they were influenced by Python, but at the same time were creating something unique, is a testament to their greatness.
Who wasn't influenced by Python.
National Lampoon magazines early 1970s style influenced the satire of SNL,SCTV,MAD T.V. Even Woody Allens 'Take The Money and Run'.
@@c.s.mcleod7383 MAD TV was based off MAD magazine. Same formula as the others, but MAD was it's own entity.
I love the fact that Joe Flaherty is so obviously drunk but trying to hold it together in the 5 neat guys commercials. That and Rick Moranis' dead pan, straight-on, stare at the camera. The songs speak for themselves...I wish this was a real record too!
More real talent genius assembled right there then one could have imagined. Five legend guys forever.
18 layers of funny. Flaherty’s gently floundering alcoholic here is so artful. RIP
Omg the memories of my sister and I laughing so hard we were crying..our favorite who put that mustard on my hot dog...sctv was the best
Eugene Levy's face at 1:17 is the greatest.
Two of my favorites are 'Who put the pennies in my loafer's', and 'Let's have a party in my rec room'. 'My mom framed my high school diploma', is another good one. Thank you K-Tel records.
I bitterly resent the “ironic” comments and “wink-wink” humor. This is a REAL group and they sing QUALITY music. And I am NOT off my meds!!!!!
R.I.P. John Candy...thank you for all the laughs!!
I haven't seen this in 35 years and sang along with, "so don't step on my clip on tie", right outta the blue, somebody hold me, I'M FREAKING OUT !
I miss SCTV, especially John Candy. Also Harold Ramis, who has part of the show for a while. This show made it worth maintaining good relations with Canada.
Another babe
Mr Green Fatigues!
I remember these 5 guys were pushing boundaries back here in Canada back in '52 before they got big south of the border, the really redefined the word "Neat" as before it meant something like organized and tidy, after them it meant swell or even golly gee.
Let's have a party in my rec room
Flaherty said he played it a a raging alcoholic on the DVD. And when 5 Neat did the People's Global Golden Choice Awards, you can hear " well how much did he have ?"
I remember watching them when I was about 10 years old, I am 50 now and I think I was onto something good, look at these five incredibly brilliant and hilarious people from long ago being so ridiculously funny, will always love these guys
We were watching them at the same time. I remember catching SCTV Friday nights. I'm 50 now and I was the only person I knew, at the time, who actually knew the show existed.
@@crs290 I feel like it came on at 12:30 a m.
@@crs290 I hit send before I was done! it's incredible how we can still have such visceral memories of stuff like this from years back.
@@tubeboobthe quick montage of the five guys during “I’m the Goof in the Classroom” stuck with me for decades; no matter how I held in the laughter, I would lose it when it showed Candy’s fave. Sometimes I can’t make it past Eugene Levy.
It’s strange to think that such a small, insignificant edit in a single skit can take root in your brain forever. Man, Moranis’s face is so funny too, so I’m struggling with laughter from the very first face. Love SCTV.
@@TokyoXtreme I would be more than content if this video is the last thing I see before I die
This is one of the funniest things they did in my opinion! I can't get over it!
After 20 years I just noticed Joe playing it drunk...lol
Yes, if you watch the SCTV Christmas Episode Joe's "Neat Guy" character is in line getting drinks during the office Christmas party and is visibly hammered . One of the other characters asks him "So, what does the "N" stand for " and he hiccups : "Neat" and stumbles off ...
@@MrBongers LOL! I have to go watch that episode now. This is the kind of stuff I couldn't appreciate as a kid. SCTV was on another level - it was funny when we were kids and even funnier now as adults because we get jokes we didn't as kids.
