It appears to be Toy Story and not Toy Story 3 on the bracket
I wonder if you’ve ever thought about ranking films that have the same setting? Like Top 10 Films that take place in New York, The Amazon/Jungle, The Mountains, etc
Wall-E won for me 🎉
What was the pun at 20:43
@@CharlieM-v3zThere are emotions in Inside Out
I genuinely think the Incredibles 75% audience score is a mistake. I’ve never met a single person in my life who didn’t like the incredibles, so I find it really hard to believe 1/4 of the RT audience didn’t like it
I think some complained abt how dark it was. Theres a suicide attempt and complete superhero genocide. I still love it though 10/10
The fact that the 2nd movie has a higher audience score is an embarrassment
I agree. This is why I prefer Imdb over RT
I don't like The Incredibles.
@ I can respect your opinion. But I would love to know why
Sean is going to be so *ANIMATED* doing this showdown. I can feel it!
🥁
Kinda shocked Aladdin wasn't in the bracket, I think it had a good chance at making it to the final
Don't forget Mulan!
You should do a showdown but the other way around. The most hated movie by Pixar and Disney !
Oh man!!! That could get wild! Haha. I'll make a NOTE!
Lightyear vs Chicken Little. Id love to see that
I would love this!
Honestly would be more interesting. Each of these studios have one golden decade and then a smattering of good movies outside of that. Like for Disney, basically any movie outside the Renaissance will deservedly get creamed by any of those. Hercules or Notre Dame would beat anything outside that era - Encanto, Moana, Tangled, Ralph, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and on. The top 7 movies in Disney history may all just be Renaissance (Mulan, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Hercules, and Notre Dame). That probably is my Disney top 7 in some order. But even that decade had stinkers. And there are lots of stinkers in any other decade. With Pixar, that stretch between Toy Story 2 to Toy Story 3 had maybe one average movie in Cars and one more above average movie in Up. Everything else is goated. But outside that decade, Inside Out and Coco are the only movies I’d put in that high end tier and I don’t like either of them as much as the classics. They’ve had plenty of other good movies but nothing else on that tier. They have had some bad ones though and some that are just okay. So that would be fun.
My least favorite Pixar movie is Bugs Life
I've been waiting for this... I'm guessing Lion King will be on top
I just knew Lion King was gonna win it all 😂😭 that praise is so unanimous and never ending
I disagree with Sean saying it’s the king of animated films though. The king of Disney films is fair, but all animated films? There’s some that clear it
@@Yoshi-h4b I mean, of course quality-wise everything's subjective, but when it comes to influential & box office juggernauts that also have cross-generational appeal and this level of critical acclaim... it's certainly in the conversation at the very least.
@@Yoshi-h4b I would agree personally, as Lion King doesn’t really measure up to that standard for me. But I see why, like the other person mentioned, it’s definitely an animated classic and staple
Not that I strongly disagree with that praise, but I started voting against it in the polls just to be one of the only people to do so.
It’s really a shame that Ratatouille 🐀 got knocked out of the first round. Honestly that is easily my favorite Pixar movie. Ratatouille is just a flawless masterpiece. That Ego scene at the end ughhhh chills.
Not to me. Finding Nemo clears in my mind.
Can you do a bracket showdown for dreamwork films and illumination films?
My Top 10 Favorite Disney movies
10. Sleeping Beauty
9. Pinocchio
8. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
7. Moana
6. Frozen
5. Tangled
4. Wreck-it Ralph
3. Beauty and The Beast
2. Aladdin
1. The Lion King
My Top 10 Favorite Pixar Movies
10. Inside Out
9. Coco
8. Toy Story
7. Toy Story 2
6. Finding Nemo
5. Monsters Inc
4. The Incredibles
3. Up
2. Wall-E
1. Toy Story 3
It truly is a travesty that Wall-E was eliminated in the first round as it's not only my favorite Pixar movie, but one of my favorite movies in general. But Pixar knows how to deliver, and The Incredibles is probably my second favorite of their catalogue. They sure know their stuff!
rip ratatouille :(
Ratatouille is my personal favorite pixar movie. Sad to see it eliminated.
Nemo R1 tough draw
To pick Toy Story 3 over Inside Out is genuinely criminal
Sean mate do this with the best action films like Die Hard, First Blood and T2
Raiders of the Lost Ark!
This is wild, but I agreed with all of your picks!
Wow…two Sean Chandler’s. What happened to the multiverse!
You should collab with him
Into the Chandlerverse
I really enjoyed this format. I liked how you incorporated viewer polls with your own opinion and then using RT as the tie-breaker. Fun!
I love these bracket showdowns using polls. The winner was always going to be The Lion King but still a great, fun video. Personally I wish Ratatouille and especially WALL.E made it way higher. They're both amazing movies. I wish Tangled was included in the showdown as well
Ratatouille took me forever to watch but i adored it once i did!
Incredibles got snubbed big time there with that audience score
My picks from each brackett Round One
- Snow White (dont remember either film its been 25 years)
- Encanto (same as above for Cinderella; ive actually seen the second one more)
-Lion King (never liked Beauty and the Beast)
-Frozen (this was actually hard; i always called Moana the "Summer Frozen", but Frozen has a better ensamble)
- Monsters Inc (never warched TS 3 til about 6 years ago, but the 2nd is my fav)
-Inside Out( i didnt like IO at first but it grew on me especially after the sequel, but Coco i never got into and i hated the songs)
-Incredibles (by default, havent watched Wall-E aside for a guy stepping out of chair for first time)
-Finding Nemo (Ratatouille i watched for the first time this year and it was good but pretty basic)
So many of these showdowns are so brutal man, but that final one! OH BOY!
Before watching. Incredibles deserves this W!
The Lion King is my favourite Disney classic and Toy Story 3 is my favourite Pixar movie
I don't get it I hated toy story 3 I didn't cry or anything but 4 I busted like no tommrow
16:49 THANK YOU for bringing back the Rachel Zegler “Weird? Weird.” clip!!! I would quote this for so long but nobody ever got it😂
Rip Wall-E 😭 you will always be my favorite
Beauty and the Beast vs The Lion King?
I pick Aladdin :D
This is what we need
Please can you do an indept review where you pit two of the movies against each other to find out the best.
Sean should do a 64 movie bracket like march madness. Could do like all of Disney studios: Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar etc
Sean talking about how his wife loves his shark undies wasn’t what I was expecting from this video😭
This just really made me appreciate how many amazing movies Disney and Pixar have made.
This would be really fun with a holiday theme since the new year is upon us. My pick all along was Wall-E. It's such a great film with a unique presentation.
I don’t know when this pronunciation became such a common thing, but the word is versus, not “verse”.
The Incredibles is my favorite animated movie
If it wasn't for Spirited Away, it would be mine too.
@ no shame in that, that movie is amazingggg
A bracket for the movies from the Bronze, Dark and Experimental eras in one, would be great
I personally like Pixar films more than Disney animated movies. The Incredibles is my favorite, along with films like Megamind and the Spider-Verse films (you can tell that I have a preferred genre, lol).
@@malachisith9458 same dude, the best Pixar films like The Incredibles and Toy story 3 are so much more rewatchable than the best Disney movies
I wish the black cauldron was more apprecited that was one of my favorite as a kid atleast when it was actually out and released and eventually i found out its sad history to disney i hope we can one day see the uncut lost/hidden version
Incredible video! I was rooting for Ratatouille but Lion King Deserved to win.
goat youtuber
For a minute there, when you announced your sponsor, I thought we were about to see Sean in underwear.
My favourite Disney movie (Frozen) and my favourite Pixar movie (Wall.E) both went out in the first round, sadly. Tough break for Wall.E, although I do think the Incredibles is the second best Pixar movie. I am not a huge fan of Moana so that hurt a lot more. I seriously think based on any criteria such as music, characters, impact, box office, Frozen is better.
Frozen is also my favorite Disney movie. People hate it so much now due to its popularity. It’s really sad because Frozen is such a great film, but people let their own personal biases get in the way and they tear the film apart because of it
Both of the finalists were released in the 1990s. Lion King 1994, Toy Story in 1995.
Both films are 30 years old now.
So many great classic films and if this were my bracket the clear winner for me is The Incredibles.
I would love to see a Lion Kingless Renaissance tournament!
22:56 this might be the biggest surprise out of all of the films here. The Incredibles as a kid I was under the impression that audiences will like it more than critics, but apparently it was reversed. While I personally don’t trust RT as a reliable source for critiquing films, I think there might be some idea why it is the way it is. I feel like when general audience, especially kids watch it, they enjoy it but I feel like nobody truly appreciates the film until they’re older. Which I guess is kind of the magic of Brad Bird’s writing.
I'm sorry for the rest, but the Lion King it's just, it's just something else entirely. I don't even know how to put in words 🦁
Sean, this is the time of bracket where if it was possible could’ve been a 32 movie bracket with 16 on each side. But for me Monsters, Inc ended up winning my bracket, I had it defeating Beauty and the Beast in the final.
Not surprised about the winner. ❤
I'm really loving these bracket showdowns. I hope you do another horror one sometime in the future.
Disney got Aladdin and Lion King, so they win. Pixar is very nostalgic and cute. First Toy Story, Ratatouille and Wall-E are the highlights
Great video! IMO it reallly should have been Lion King vs The Incredibles. Lion king probably still wins but I bet it’s closer.
Round Two Votes
-Cinderella (either one honestly, i havent watched the older disney films since i was young and only like once)
-Lion King (love Moana but LK is just phenomenal[ps i prefer Lion King II])
-Toy Story 3 (i prefer Inside Out 2 over the first)
-Finding Nemo (saw both in theaters but i lean more toward emotional stuff and Incredibles is mostly just action. And being a Dad definitely hightens it)
I voted for all of them and I think I agree with the winner of this bracket
For me, Pixar takes it every single time! They don't make musicals!
I hate all except the toy story movies
@danmulholland1634 That's a very strange statement. And, tbh, I don't believe it.
This is a very fun idea and I loved the interactive nature of the video with your community!! This is just a tough one to really spread across the eras of these studios. The top 7 Disney movies are all Renaissance (Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Mulan, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Notre Dame) and the top 7 Pixar movies are also from one decade stretch (Toy Story 2, Wall-E, Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, Monster’s Inc and Toy Story 3). Personally, I have loved Great Mouse Detective, Lilo and Stitch, Meet the Robinson, Tangled, Treasure Planet, Wreck-It Ralph, Coco, and Inside Out. But objectively, none of those really fight all that hard with the golden decade films. So you have to purposefully include lesser movies to make it more of an across the eras bracket and you will get some really lopsided matchups. I liked the idea of most hated movies. Because those are throughout the decades for Disney (even during the Renaissance) though they are really only post Disney purchase for Pixar. I don’t think they had a single miss before being purchased. Even the original Cars and Bugs Life are at least good.
Also, as a post-note, despite the MCU content getting me into your channel (and I love all the MCU content), my favorite thing you've done is the ranking of the first 60 Walt Disney Animation Studios films. That was a lot of fun!
I was answering all the bracket posts lol😂
I'm curious how Aladdin would have fared against Lion King. I'd expect it to lose but I wonder if it would be the landslide some of these others were.
Lion King is King!!! Its also my favorite animated movie of all time 🦁 I also love Snow White and Cinderella 👑
Just started watching the vid
Very excited to see how this goes
Great video as always Sean. Watching videos like this for me is incredibly frustrating, as i find myself screaming "How can people possibly think that" or "Sean must be insasne choosing that"
To be clear this is a me problem and the video is very well done and fair imo. Much love as always Sean.
Me: rip Beauty and the Beast
Gaston: HAHAHAHA YES!!!! THEY KILLED THE BEAST!!! HAHAHAHA
*I remove a brick and he falls*
Wreck-it Ralph is number one for me
I really debated including it. And with frozen week performance it appears I should have
Sean picking frozen over Moana is actually insane
9 favorite movies for each studio
The Lion King
Frozen 2
Aladdin
Moana 1-2
Tangled
Big Hero 6
Dumbo
The Many adventures of Winnie the Pooh
101 Dalmatians
Toy Story 1-3
A Bugs Life
Soul
Monsters Inc
The Incredibles
Lightyear
Cars
WALL.E
Inside Out 2
My dad had a similar experience with Finding Nemo. He saw it a couple years after it came out, when I was born, and from what he told me, he had a connection with it too
Inside out vs coco is diabolical
I think Encanto will stand the test of time moreso than expected. I liked it when I first watched it, but it didn't wow me. After numerous rewatches, though, it has grown for me considerably. The messages and emotions it evokes became super relevant during the isolation of the pandemic era, and the songs get better with more listens. Time will tell. I also still say that Frozen just became popular to hate on due to how big it blew up, which I get. Objectively, though, I think it is solid (despite some structural issues), and the soundtrack kills that of Moana which I still love. Got to remember the first time you heard Let It Go rather than the thousandth, lol.
I can't believe Aladdin didn't even make the bracket. It's literally my favorite animated film of all time 😭
You should start using IMBD for the tiebreaker not to mention critic should use IMDb ,rotten tomatoes 75% of the time is full of shit
Great video! Are you planning on doing an arcane s2 review? I absolutely LOVED it and would like to hear your opinion.
Maybe I missed it, but why didn't Sean just have Disney/Pixar go against each other like each round?
I was sad to see Beauty and The Beast get knocked out so early. That is my favorite animated movie of all time, any studio, any era.. Nothing against The Lion King. I love The Lion King. It's in my top 10 favorite animated movies of all time. But Beauty and The Beast will always win for me, no matter what other animated movie it's up against.
Love the Victory Royale!
You should do more of these tournaments!
Had to be The Lion King. Best animated and best Disney film. One of my favourite childhood films.
You picked all the Princess Disney films except Lion King lol. Where is Aladdin, Hercules, Tarzan, etc haha 😂. Don't get me wrong they're all good, but those are my favs lol
The idea was to have movies from different eras and the most iconic. Those are 3 films from the 90s. Lion King is the King and beauty and the beast was nominated for best picture. So I went for those two.
With how things went I probably should have included wreck it Ralph over frozen or MAYBE encanto
@ It was a fun video! I’m just biased and want my favorite shows in there. Wouldn’t matter though no animated show will beat Lion King ever 😂
can definitely tell the age of a lot of the voters with this one
For finding Nemo and as well as the wild robot, it’s not just about parenting, it’s also about people with disabilities and that they can do the same objective else which is what I connect to more as a disabled person.
Moana dominance over Frozen isnt all that surprising Frozen was hated on so hard as being an average movie with one really great song
I might be one of the few who genuinely like Lion King 2 over the 1st film. It still baffles me how they released that film straight to video...
When you reach the right number of winners you should do a champion bracket that would be wild
No Zootopia or big hero six on this bracket showdown is a crime
You need to do Pixar vs DreamWorks?
I love this way of doing bracket challenges. You let the audience weigh in, but it’s not just a pure majority since that would really take away from it being *your* channel.
As it turns out, I got my way, almost every single bracket challenge, including hoping for a final two of Lion King versus Toy Story 3, with Lion King winning!
I think those are the respective best Pixar and Disney animated films, and I do think Lion King is narrowly the greater film!
Inside Out vs Coco?!?! Choosing between my two favorite Pixar films is so mean!!
Disney Vs pixar
I still don’t understand why everyone hates Frozen so much. I’m not just saying that because Moana had a landslide victory, but every round Frozen got demolished, and all the comments kept tearing it up. It’s not just on your poll, everywhere I see Frozen mentioned, people get visibly upset or annoyed and feel the urge to call it overrated or a bad film. The most common rating I see people give Frozen is that it’s an average film. I honestly think people let their emotions get in the way and just bash on Frozen because it was overplayed for a while. I wish people could put the with biases aside and acknowledge that Frozen while isn’t perfect at all, is still a great film and one of the best Disney movies
Toy Story 3 is great but after these polls I’ve gotta call it overrated
Toy Story 3 🐐
Hell naw
In the first round I would have picked the exact same things as you picked.
If you put a semifinal round match in at the very beginning of course your going to lose a semifinals movie. That is on you for placing them against each from the beginning
My hot takes: I don’t like the lion king, I don’t like the incredibles. Idk why, I just can’t get behind the hype
Trying to pick 8 films to represent Disney is an incredibly difficult task. But I think that frozen and Moana represent modern Disney well, there’s no reason to have encanto on there. Especially when leaving out so many stone cold classics.
Moana and Frozen are revival. Encanto is post-revival.
But I don’t really disagree. There’s always a tension between what are the 8 true classics and which films will audiences engage with the most
Honestly I think beauty and the beast is better than the lion king
I've been excited for this!!!
Beauty and the Beast vs Lion King summary:
B&B has the best animation and 2nd best score out of any Disney.
Lion King has top 5 animation and the #1 score. Lion King also proves itself as somehow more relatable and more fun to watch.
Meanwhile, B&B has technically a better story and more adult elements and concepts.
Both heavy hitters and probably top 5 animated movies across all studios.
great showdown
My Semi Finales/Final Vote(s)
-Lion King
-Finding Nemo
-Lion King, no contest lol
I knew right from the start that The Lion King was gonna win. Maybe shouldn't have included it to make the showdown more fair, lol
do dreamwork animation against Disney Animation. Will Shrek beat out Lion king?
I don’t know about the first round matchups.
I think their is a movie missing, and it is definitely cars 1 & 2
Putting Beauty and the Beast vs The Lion King is putting two number 1 seeds against each other in the first round.
