    • @Site_57
      @Site_57 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yesn’t.
      Playing devil’s advocate, it’s possible that he was indeed feeding off of the core, but he requires continuous power. It’s like an old arcade machine with no batteries: If you unplug it, it immediately turns off. He clearly has the power to turn it back on without using that energy, but it checks out.
      Evidence of this is that he will become mortal without connection to the core, and there can be more than one connection to the core. This seems to indicate that he is in a symbiotic relationship with the core, although a very beneficial relationship.
      Does this make him a different being from the core? NO!!! Just like mitochondria are considered an organelle of a cell, so is he a part of this. He is to the core what the brain is to the body: the body takes care of the brain, and the brain teaches the body how to best take care of both itself and the brain. One cannot properly exist without the other.

    That would explain why Peter loses his power after ego perished. Usually the offspring of a celestial have power on there own without the parent as the source.

    The celestials shouldn't really need to destroy a planet when born because they gain their shell bodies over the years when their energy needs containing! Otherwise take out the film cannon, Gaia, the primordial goddess wouldn't have let it happen anyway!

    the 2 biggest problems with that movie was that they retconned Peter's jather from Jason of Spartax, and they made Ego the Living Planet a celestial...they really wrote themselves into a corner.

    I think Ego means he’s a celestial being but not an actual Celestial that created the Eternals

      The Ego of Knowhere
      Knowhere - a location built inside the skull of a decapitated Celestial - used to be Ego's form, the place where his massive brain/core used to be housed. In short: Knowhere itself is an Easter egg, as it is actually part of Ego.

    I’m of the opinion that ego is the brain of what used to be the knowhere celestial. We aren’t actually given an origin to ego, outside of him just being a literal brain god floating in space. It makes sense to me that after the knowhere celestial was decapitated, the remnants of its brain were cast into the universe from its battle where it eventually gained consciousness again and became ego.

    This is a cool theory, but not likely. Ego, although did lie about a lot of things, did not lie about his origin and who he was. He was indeed a celestial, just one that decided to seek out meaning across the universe rather than creating life as well as more celestials. He wanted to spread his own life across the universe. But to do so he obviously needed another celestial, hence why he went across the universe making babies to try and find one that inherited the celestial gene. Peter obviously being the one who inherited that gene likely inherited it because of the eternals' and celestials' intervention on earth, which altered humanity's dna for us to be able to evolve as well as giving us mutants. (Which the reason why we havent seen any mutants in the mcu yet should be explained in multiverse of madness.) But, if Ego was just feeding off of the celestials' energy then he would not need another celestial, let alone try and wipe out all life in the universe, because no life means no celestials and if this theory were true then he would also have no energy to feed off of. He's just simply a celestial who thought his purpose was to control all life in the universe by becoming the only life in the universe. If this wasn't the truth then we would see him again in the future, but seeing as gotg 3 will be moving away from that, as well as thor introducing Gorr the god butcher, the future doesn't seem to have a place for Ego's return. As in his story has likely already been told.

    I mean, I’m pretty sure these celestials don’t just hangout together, think about it, in eternals we get to see the massive size of an actual celestial, speaking of eternals what would happen if a deviant obsorbed a celestials powers, would he become something like ego

    I think Ego is the brain from the dead celestial in Guardians of the Galaxy, Knowhere.
    From the comics….
    Knowhere is the decapitated head of a Celestial, said to have been slain by God Emperor Doom to protect Battleworld, and it remained orbiting the planet as a reminder of Doom's power.

    I dunno why they changed it from the comics. I'm not sure if there is a name for the type of thing that Ego is, but they call him the Living Planet, and he's definitely NOT a celestial, which is a very different kind of cosmic being, as shown in the later movies, and even in Guardians 1. It was silly to mess with the terminology like that.
