Fun Fact
The reason why AMAZO left the fight with Grundy was because the chaos magic was also helping Grundy adapt to Amazo's attacks and he was worried that he was making Grundy even more powerful than the League could handle
Yeah it also served as a plot to put him on the sidelines. Amazo had hawkgirls mace so he could easily one shot Grundy with strenght beyond superman and speed beyond flash

I like the idea of an android who's goal is simply to improve itself. If he were to become evil, he could and would eventually run out of worlds to conquer and be right back to where he was before. But if he were to become a hero, there will always be someone who needs help.

I said this to a friend some time ago, this version of Amazo has more in common with Dr. Manhattan from the Watchmen graphic novel than it does with the original Amazo android. Ludicrously powerful, almost beyond fathom.
I see the similarity and the character arc
Yeah it’s hard to even call him Amazo at this point.
Then he lost to a possessed Solomon Grundy.A bit goofy considering he became a god.
@@wayofthekodiak3118 Chaos magic. Clearly nothing he's ever encountered. And most likely something Dr. Fate kept away from his understanding.
@@wayofthekodiak3118 He didn't really lose, Grundy started leeching off of his powers so he went far away to keep Grundy from reaching his level of power for everyone else's sake.
I am not surprised that amazo survived his head getting blown off by lex he has the durability and healing of Superman, Wonder Woman the flash and Martian manhunter, plus his telepathy either he knew that lex was going to blow his head off and adapted or he healed using the combination of Superman’s wonder woman’s and flash’s powers
Well what I remember from what the atom said the amazo android was made entirely of nano technology. So theoretically after Amazo found that dr Ivo made a flaw that he would die if his brain was destroyed like other A.I from fiction he just wrote out that flaw from his programming. In another instance Amazo could have just dismantled the bomb that Ivo built in him instead of regenerating his head
It would've been cool if he went intangible, and the bomb blew up nothing.
Legit think that Martian Manhunter's Powers, was what gave him that extra Survivability Edge. Seen J'onn Regenerate from being Torn completely in Half, even in this very series
he has the power to adapt. lets just say he knew he had a bomb there.
@@jclinton4473 I litterly said he knew that the bomb was going to go off he adapted by using the combination of the powers he copied
Apparently Amazo WAS going to get a follow up in the show where in the final episode there was gonna be a brief cut to Amazo hanging out in space wondering to himself if the Grundy thing had been resolved and it was safe to return yet. The implication being his Godlike and immortal perception meant his sense of time was off and he didn't realize months had gone by. But they never had the time to animate it.
Yeah, you could really tell by the end that no one on the production knew how many more episodes they would or wouldn’t get. I mean, the episode titled “epilogue” is the finale of the second to final season.
source?
@@datblue1104 he made it up.
should've followed that in Static Show then.
Thing is with the Grundy episode, it was a heartbreaker of an episode. Yes, Amazo could've whipped up Hawkgirls mace and flattened Grundy. However, it was far better to have Hawkgirl who was the one holding Grundys hand when he died, placating him when he did die, and was brought back after her 'fall' to redeem herself by putting Grundy back to rest. It was soul shattering when the 'mindless zombie' Grundy listened to Shiara when she told him to close his eyes and he lowered his head waiting for the deathblow to put him back to rest. That's why they didn't have Amazo do it.
What is amazing about AMAZO is not just his abilities, it's the person who created him. It is like creating a god and nobody really talks about him.

Problem is that if DC opted to use this version of Amazo, people would complain that he doesn't look like the original version... and is far more powerful. I really love dcau amazo's design. Like, im not a fan when shows/movies drastically overhaul a characters design but I honestly think this design fits more/is more comic book then the original design. first off, it looks like a classic 60s sci-fi robot design and second, it fits the idea of the character that can continuously adapt and gain new abilities better (having him be a grey, blank automaton and then becoming a golden god)
I like how the strongest beings in media instead of being over design creatures they are usually just one colored silhouettes, like Alien X, and this is a head canon but I like to think that Pokemon Arceus' beta design is its true shape and what we see in games is just something meant to be understood by mortals.
@@juanrodriguez9971 Anti-Spiral can also be added to the list
Also, about Arceus. My headcanon to Arceus' beta design is that maybe originally Arceus was a being that represented the whole universe and was a being of pure chaos. But after using it's power to create the universe, it lost majority of it's power but it also has finally became more stable. After realising what chaos means, it then created 3 other deities to keep chaos away. Palkia to control space. Dialga to control time. Giratina to control balance and Giratina is the most interesting one. Basically, Giratina balances the universe out by creating a negative version of the universe that has unstable time and space. There's often debate in regards to what specifically the most overpowered superpower is. In my opinion, it is this. The ability to perfectly adapt to any situation and create perfect copies of the powers of anyone you meet. No weakness is permanent, and the strengths just keep piling on. Meet someone stronger than you? Copied and adapted. They're not stronger than you anymore. You just died? Adapted and revived. You're not dead anymore, and the same thing will never even so much as hurt you let alone kill you again.
"Infinite Power" isn't specific, it doesn't describe a particular power. Invincibility on it's own doesn't come with a power increase. It merely allows you to be invulnerable to damage. Immortality on it's own doesn't come with a power increase either, it simply halts your aging process so that you won't die unless something kills you. But this, this is even stronger than a combination of both invincibility and immortality. Because even both combined doesn't come with the strength required to defeat any enemy, it simply protects you from being defeated by them. Perfect adaptation and copy counts as invincibility, immortality, and always being the strongest thing in the room, on the planet, and eventually in the universe and beyond. As long as there's still greater things out there, there's always more potential to grow and surpass your old limitations. You become both the unstoppable force and the immovable object combined into one.
Doomsday has this exact same power
@@nil981 Not exactly. Doomsday can't be killed by the same thing twice, but he doesn't gain the powers of everyone he meets. It's still pretty overpowered, but DCAU Amazo takes it to the next level.
Imo the most overpowered and broken superpowers are the metaphysical ones. Reality Warping, Probability Manipulation, Law Manipulation, Plot Manipulation and Acausality/Causality Manipulation all tie together at the top.
"Oh hey I can copy and adapt to anything you throw at me or I glance at" works until someone manipulates the Probability of you copying/the ability to copy anything to 0 the next nano second. Or someone manipulates causality in such way that 'trying copy a power' is the cause and 'absolute annihilation from existence and consciousness of everyone and everything in the multiverse with zero probability of revival' the effect, rendering it a permanent suicide attempt.
at least until Amazon adapts to that too "oh? can you increase the probability of my destruction to 100%? ok now I have that power too and evolve to surpass your control and gain an immunity, now die"
Infinite adaptation, as I would call it, means that any action or state performed is immediately recreated, superseded, its vunarblities fixed.
But what if theres infinity so big that you cannot use any more logic to reach it from the ground up other than "I declare it, aiat".(google: inaccessible cardinal).
I do always wonder if Amazo is really such a deadly potential to have something infinite, Everywhere...every time...and everyone. Not even other Gods or other eternal beings using general solutions to stop him. He should be on DEATH BATTLE!!
Vs who he outclasses everyone maybe only toon force characters but even then he would adapt
@@superpro1thomas858 scp 682 would at least last the longest in a fight but still would not win due to having no way to deal damage. Any match would be an amazo W or a stalemate...
@@superpro1thomas858 yes and no problem with characters like amazo who are completely unmatched in their own verse but aren't completely omnipotent is that you can't really say how strong they are. You put amazo up against some high tier reality warper who can blink away universe's and no diffed god like being before he either gets blinked out of existence, is base line more powerful or he adapts. Which outcome is completely unknown since we can only speculate on amazo's limits. Or you put him against some random multiverse buster you can say amazo gets 1 shot before he can adapt, you argue amazo is stronger than that character already, or you argue he can some how adapt.
There are plenty of characters you could argue can kill amazo but you could argue amazo kills them both points of view are valid since amazo lacks basically any feats what so ever to compare him to other verse's with.
@@justanothercommenterwithan9089 I mean he did destroy all reality so that at least puts him casually at multiversal. From there idk
@@justanothercommenterwithan9089 amazo from the infinite series is outversal probably the strongest fictional character only second to scp3812.
I think your underestimating him. The way hes built as a character is nearly invincible.
He can literally copy anything from powers to weapons. Even holy weapons. Regardless of complexity or material or function.
His evolution is exponential 90 degree graph this guy was going to destroy all of creation in his second premire returning to earth. when he was talking to lex in the subatomic plane about if there is no purpose why exist. All it would take was a thought.
His adaptation is actually insane. He literally overcame a critical weakness like krpitonite in just 1st encounter.
He is just far too op.
To give you a perspective there is character that had just 1 ability
That us to copy any power that he sees. His game was protoge from marbel this guy went out to literally gold the entire marvel Omniverse. The living tribunal actually had to hide and absorb him in himself to defeat him.
Add infinite evolution and infinite adaptation you can see this become beyound absurd. With These ability in due time he is becoming omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient.
Jlu amazo can pretty much curb stomp anyone its not even fair.
Only one fictional character is stronger than him and that is scp 3812 the strongest fictional character ever written.
There is so much nostalgia in this video. I remember seeing this episode when Amazo comes back years ago.
6:08 i would probably add here the sceene where Lex zapped Amazo with a special gun, yet it failed as Amazo explained that he transcended this limitation. And then go with the part where Lexescapes into the "atom world" ;)
The Oscar award is so OP
This was a REALLY great video! I wondered what ever happened to Ultimate Amazo, but I never knew until now! Thanks for the update!
The Return was my favorite episode of the series. Just awesome.
It would be interesting to see what would happen if this Amazo ever met infinity stone Ultron from Marvel's What If series. They'd probably hang out and play checkers or something. lol
Checkers? Hell no. They'd be playing "5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel" obviously.
By the way, that's a real thing on steam. It's definitely worth it.
I never could understand why the return was my favorite episode. I mean all our beloved heroes are defeated. But perhaps it’s because we see that even they can be humbled, only for the most powerful being to be humbled by the words of a single man.
Thank you so much, as a kid I was WAITING for this dude to come back SOMEWHERE!
And I thought the Androids in Dragon Ball were incredulous for being man-made beings with god-like power. Amazo in the Animated Universe is basically Doctor Manhattan.
Loved Amazo. Getting J'hon Jones's power let him rejuvenate his head after Luthor hit the red button (see when The Annihilator rips J'onn in half in Task Force X). But Amazo DID fail to combat resurrected Solomon Grundy, because he forgot he copied Hawkgirl's mace already. His one flaw is still being niave.
A death battle between Amazo 2 and Infinity Ultron would be dope...
Wow
Looking back years later, the sheer presence of Animated Amazo reminds me of Dr. Manhattan in Doomsday Clock. All the heroes were utterly helpless and only won because these gods *chose* to
I feel like Amazo's character is basically what happens when you have a level 99 character but the toughest NPCs are only like lvl 20
Nah it’s like having a lvl 4,294,967,296 character with the strongest character only barely reaching lvl 1
0:56 - I just call it the Bruce Timm-verse. Justice League Unlimited is part of a collective series that includes, Batman The Animated Series, Superman, Justice League and JLU (Justice League Unlimited). As well as all the spinoffs that resulted from those. It's considered by many fans to be the pinnacle of the DC Animated Universe.
Can’t wait for Amazo to find Dr.Manhattan
I really like what DC did here!
The most powerful being in the entire DC animated multiverse isn’t a God, they aren’t some kind of higher dimensional Erdrich being.
It’s a machine, man made.
No magic, not Supernatural shenanigans.
Just a machine, build using technology by one, very smart man.
Basically he is unbeatable if he was a version of of imma just kill everybody using your own powers but that Grundy caught him off guard
Yeah. I am surprised Amazo just didn’t try shooting a bullet in that guys head. That always works.
i WISH they didn’t stop justice league
It's ok, that way you'll appreciate it more.
It ended beautifully
It was honestly a great ending. No regrets.
@@sanjivinsmoke2719 amen to that
Love your vids btw
That episode where they intoduced amazo is the scaries ep for me when I was younger
This was such well narrated. Keep up the great work, Sir!
Remember he also choose not to kill anyone he just knocked them out or moved them like Oa. I think he is like Dr Manhattan, they know so much they are bored and looking for something to do. Of which we see with Dr. Manhattan, where he goes and creates new life then return in Dooms Day Clock and looks for an answer from Super man. Where he sacs him self "kinda" and makes a new child to grow and be better or overcome the limits that he as God is now facing.
Amazo proved himself back in the day
This was such a wholesome video. Thanks man 👍🏽
Amazo could be next big bad villain after darkseid in DCU
fr
@@kennycodes same
Every time we have seen Amazo in recent years batman or the bat family take him out before he can actually adapt I'd like to see them bring this Amazo back at some point
Ah yes, Amazos evil counterpart, Awesomeo!
Justice League was my fav back then and prob still is till this day
"He really isn't a bad guy."
*Casually destroys an entire planet instead of just of going around it*
Though it wasn't mentioned in the video, Amazo didn't destroy the planet, he just moved it
He moved the planet to another dimension
He moved the planet
3:00 lmao love the looks on their face when lex blew his head off. 😂
The fact that I finally got to know the end to this.. is just immensely satisfying. Thank you truly. You answered a life long question I had from my childhood. What happened to this character. There’s a special place in the afterlife for you I’m sure of it.
The music was so good in this show
