As a Pagan and spell user, spells have to have intent behind them to perform a certain action. Nobody is singing happy birthday with the intent to age you, because biology is already doing that. I know where he's coming from. I mean I'm not saying they are "spells" or if spells even are really a thing. but the people that believe they are, and do those vocal things, it is exactly the same. It technically is a spell, just not an aging spell. It’s an unlocking spell. It unlocks the “DGAF” mode, where one can wear a polo with shorts - tucked in of course, along with sandals with socks and other faux pas that would of been seen as uncool, which is now seen as “DGAF”.
The spell has negative consequences too, unfortunately. With men, shaving your ears sometimes happens.

There is a philosophy behind the crap he's spewing, but I don't think he's smart enough to know what it is, I think he's more saying it on accident. The idea is that words shape our internal reality. In your mind, you can't imagine something you don't have a word for. This idea has some merit, and at further ends of it you get the idea that the natives saw Columbus' ships coming on the water, but having never seen or thought of a ship before, it meant nothing to them, and they may not have been able to literally see them at all, because their minds had no framing for them. I think they saw the shapes of them, but of course had no idea it was their impending doom on the way, maybe they thought it was just rocks or a floating tree.
The "alphabet demon" thing is part of the crazy end of the theory, where it's been put in place by the illuminati or someone intentionally to limit and control thought, but that makes no sense if you think for five seconds. Language is nothing but a way to express our thoughts, and you can't control that by limiting the characters. If we didn't have the word 'freedom', it's not like we wouldn't have a concept for it, we'd just call it something else. But this is an actual line of academic thought, with valid and invalid parts to it.

I mean, America is the melting pot. Ofc people are gonna be speaking different languages, even today. However there were still ways to communicate. Such as learning another language, or having someone translate it.
The language isn’t what divided the United States back then. It was Economic & Social differenced between the North & South, State VS Federal Rights, Slavery, the growth of the Abolition Movement, the Dred Scott Decision, the election of Abe Lincoln, and many more. However language was not apart of it. I can list at least 10 examples that did not have to do with language whatsoever.
