I’m Liam Harrison, Bolton born and bred. I’m a lover of Golf, life and laughter.
Started Golf 12 years ago after packing in football when i was 28 due to a back injury.
I started the TH-cam channel as a laugh and a Wim, to make me practice but that went out the window as i started vlogging, loving being on camera but more so the interaction with my #golfmates.
In 14 months i have seen the channel evolve and become the only real golf community on TH-cam which i am extremly proud of.
I would like to thank all the #golfmates that have been with us and supported us and the channel from the start. Also not forgetting our new #golfmates that may have only just come across the channel. - กีฬา

Watching your channel caused me to go out and get an old set of solid backed irons and persimmons. Wilson Sam Sneads - someone had them, a full set from 2-9 (probably the same as current 3-pw) with four almost unused woods.

They're a blast to hit golf balls with. At my skill level, they'll have no negative effect on scores.
They were supposedly low-end of the market clubs when sold, but I can't see anything wrong with them. The irons are forged irons and the woods are predictably less long than giant titanium balloon woods, but they're by no means hard to hit. The ball comes out relatively low with not much spin and rolls out well with them.

Because I was young when is started playing I had a Heinz 57 set of mixed clubs out of the second hand bin. However, it taught me to improvise some shots and gave me good feel around the greens which I still have. Once I started work I got a set of Dunlop Blueflash blades - nice!!

I just love the keeping it real attitude. I've got a great set of Taylor Made' but due to this channel I've just bought a set of Tommy Armour 855 Silver Scots as an experiment. Re-grip to follow but can't wait to see how they fare. They cost me buttons and I can let my lad use them afterwards
I only started to play when I retired and I got a full set of Dunlop 65i with bag, trolley and 20 golf balls off eBay for £25 6 years ago. I'm still using the irons but have upgraded my woods and putter. I'm really enjoying the game thanks to you, the Dick and especially OMP. Liam keep up the great work.

Love it. The Hubster bought me a Wilson set when I started in 2014, they were about £200 they were perfect for starting out. Ladies set thought comes with 3 wood not driver. P.S what does chicken and rice mean?

Bought a Wilson D300 5 wood in the bargain bin at a high street golf store for a super low price, now the best club in the bag, very long, straight (most times) which is no mean feat with my swing. Replaced a Ping 5 wood that cost a lot lot more. Travels further and straighter and more consistent than the Ping. If you're not a brand snob, go try the Wilson's you might be pleasantly surprised, as I was.
I owned a set of palm spring visa golf clubs a few years ago. They were about £150 for the full set and bag. Came with 3 wood and 2 hybrids 5 - SW in the irons. It's the only package set of clubs I have ever seen that give you a length customization option. I think it was a website called sports HQ that sell them if anyone wants to have a look. I got them +1 inch longer than standard because of my height.

That is a great idea to bring new beginners into golf. If your pushing your irons think thumbs down at impact.
I'm from Stockport (that place that Manchester's outside of) living in rural Lincs and the main thing I miss apart from Robbies beer is the humour. It just doesn't exist on the golf course over here.
I started with the Wilson ultra set. I found the irons great but the driver was poor. The driver was about an inch and a half small than my new one. Loved the Wilson sandwedge though and should of sticked with that instead of buying a new set of wedges. Bought the Ultra set for £45,off ebay
Hilarious. Should you not pg rate this video :) . I just bought a set of Mizuno T-Zoid comp EZ 4-PW for a 111.28 pounds 2 days ago. Have not recieved them yet by mail. Have not started playing yet. But have had a PW at home and practicing my swing for timing purpose. Taking my green card soon. I hope these clubs will do good for a true beginner as I am. Will be fun to start playing golf at almost 48 year old man. Love this channel. You are doing a great job.
When I first started last year I bought a set of Dunlop clubs from eBay for 50 quid, I haven’t really spent loads since but my mates thinking of calling me eBay Pete the 2nd as I’m on my 3rd set of irons and 2nd driver and 2nd rescue club in the last 6 months 😂.
I'm still using Wilson GE 1200 irons I bought in 1987. I'm playing off 13. I love Wilson clubs & think of buying the forged D7 irons. Incredibly underrated clubs.

I used to spend hundreds of $ on the big names and the latest designs.
The irons I bought ( and sold ) 15 years ago are now going for peanuts on eBay .
At the time they were really expensive and also really good .
I went to a local sports shop and there's a driver for $600 and a set of irons for $1900.

I think it's hilarious playing of 18 and spending an absolute fortune on clubs. I play of 10.5 and ALL my clubs are second hand. For everything including my bag and trolley and balls and globe £150 if that. Love going down and beating guys spending a fortune thinking it's the equipment that makes the golfer

I loved my Wilson Ultra clubs.
I can tell you that if you swing fast, the driver will slice every single time. I slow motion filmed it rotation at impact. Slowed way down and it went straight.

Hi Liam. I bought for £15 a set of ping ISI white dot (3 degrees upright.) . I am 5 ft 9 inches tall so white dot do not suite me. These clubs are amazing if I swing in a manner to counteract the lie angle. i.e like BRYSON. YES I can do this. The flight on these clubs is just amazing. HIGH LONG and accurate. WOULD I TAKE THEM TO THE COURSE ? NO. ..NO GUTS, one cowardly of peace of shit. am I. These ISI s are one inch longer shafts than standard and Stiff. They still are amazing. Long as modern clubs with more loft which aids trajectory. Do a video on these clubs they will speak for themselves. Just shows that club tech is all about loft reduction and nothing else..

Many years ago I gave a lecture at the university and were leaning back against the aluminum framed blackboard. I could feel something cold against my buttocks. Using some wilsons slx ultras lilely the same clubs.. They are soooo bad compared to my sons cobra driver and mizuno irons. The driver is especially poor

Liam, Going to Scotland 🏴. How fitting to take the recently tested Tommy Armour 845s. You certainly would appeal to a little older demographic audience age 50 plus who were around to lust after them long ago and play those innovative irons.
Hope you are continuing to hit them straight. Reshafting those with a proper shaft , grip and lie angle to fit your swing would be a good honest club comparison of old ( now cheap) verses new irons. Probably also good for your aching back.
If possible, see if you can get a set of the tumbled 845 Silver Scots. A nicer version that is probably in abundance due to their popularity and large playability.

I play with a set of Titleist DTRs from 1988... Good old irons hold up against new irons...
My 1988 Taylor Made Burner leaves a lot on the table vs my friends newer drivers though.
If anyone's on a budget... I can't recommend DTRs enough. Can get them for a buck a club...
No other channels would provide this kind of consumer information. Not only can you now be comfortable you can get a decent set for 40 quid you also now know you need to check there is enough room in the crotch of your golf trousers 😂👍

I'm still using a set of irons i bought over 20 years ago. I think i was coming home from college at the time and saw them at Leigh Market. Dunlop Invicta Cavity backed Oversized 3i - pw. Cost me £30. Saw that price, rushed home got some cash n came bk n bought them before the market closed. Thought, yup, i'm having those.
Liam I paid £320 for my Wilson ultras 3 years ago, changed my driver last year to a Titleist 909D £17.50 and changed my putter for a TaylorMade Spider £100 Brilliant clubs I love um

Also, consider the Tommy Armour Atomic FORGED irons for $399! Yes, amazing. We actually wonder if they are forged, so they impressed "Forged' in the hosel. Am a Titleist guy myself, but anyone who wants quality and value in irons should look into these.
Good vid, Rick sheils did similar thing with a slazenger box set for about £70......played just as good and got a few fellas to hit them and they felt no difference. Basically, it's about playing golf and enjoying yourself with your mates
