I've never been fishing in Australia 😂.. But that looks like a mullet
Edit : there are some sea run trout that might make it down there? We call them coasties cause they follow coast lines... Definitely not a salmon 😊
Maybe I don't know what you call salmon... 😮

@C.W-p8w understand 👍 yeah, this is called Australian Salmon - Arripis Trutta. The juveniles are called Salmon Trout. It's a very common surf fish and extremely popular to catch. A totally different species to Atlantic Salmon 😊👌

Also I'm in the pacific so... I only catch Chinook, Coho, and every two years the pinks... And the coasties
