Love catching eating whiting yummy 😋, there's 1000s of places like this around OZ ,and SA is well known for premium quality largest fish 🐟, but over the decades caught 1000s in Port Phillip Bay, worked with owner on his charter boat out of Portarlington, RIP 🙏 Ken ,ex WW2 Lancaster Bomber crew ❤❤❤❤ 😂😊
hey mate great vid. just wondering if you have any good spots to send out the drone for squid. got a new device that lets me cast as far as i want wondering where some good spots would be. cheers
@@JordanSAFishing Thanks mate, I've got the Mavic air2s and the fishing attachments - keen to get some floaters out and catch some juicy squid to stuff
This maybe an obvious question but why do most people + videos etc recommend using low tide to fish for whiting ? Is there a science or technique thats different for high tide?
Very good question mate!! On the sand flats the water doesn’t get much higher than knee height so it may look low at times but it’s actually high! When the tides are dead low there’s almost no water in The system so starting on a low tide and fishing the high can be great as the fish will come in for a feed!
Awesome question! The shallower parts are the sand bars and deeper parts are the gutters. Both can be great spots for fish to chill out but in this day we found the sand bars more efficient. Casting onto these spots will be your best bet to finding fish :) hope this helps! I’ll try and explain more in future videos.
@@jasonthompson5880 closer to Pt Wakefield. You can see they're near the tip of the peninsula. You can also see the Kulpara hills in the background at 6:34
Hey mate, up North is the general area I can point you too. Plenty good spots to be found around SA, just need to look for the sand flats on google maps
I find using a net way too cumbersome, we only have two hands. If you pull a fish 40or 50 metres, I don’t think it is going to come of right near you! Just grab it, take it off the hook and put it in the tub, easy! I have only ever lost a couple of fish this way in the many, many fish I have caught.
Each to their own, I’ve just found using a net a lot more effective if used properly. Trying to pick up fish would be a great way to help them shake the hooks off 🤣

And did you fish the low tide at the bottom or as the tide started to come in ?
It’s very location dependent! But I love the incoming tide as the fish make their way in!
