BE AWARE!!! There are scammers about in the comments! It IS NOT ME! Report it !
dude, I hate you, just went out and bought me 2 CASIOS, an AE-1200WH-1CVCF and a WS1600H-1AV - love your stuff! looking at a CASIOAK now!! dang. Also just got my son a Citizen Eco drive classic black face with stainless bracelet. Its lovely. You now have me wanting to get this Seiko!!
I name thee, Blue Steel ... ok, that's pretty lame but Zoolander came to mind. Call it the Zoolander!
Hi it has to be the dark night awesome watch
@@formula934damn I just wrote that before seeing this comment but you’re right has to be
The SSH - Seiko Sky Hawk.
Nice one, Seiko blue dials are always stunning no matter the model.
And for a name, I could only think of FieldKX
I've seen this model before. Great looking watch. Ireally like the way they did the numerals It really brings the dial to life. A modern upgrade to the SNK809. I'd call this one Midnight Sky as the numerals sparkle like stars at night. Thanks for all your efforts Russ, Your videos never fail to brighten my day!
I would call it the “seiko scout” based on its field watch vibes. This iteration would be the “blue scout.”
I would name this the "Seiko Sentinel" as the definition is of sentinel is a person employed to guard something. This is a fitting name as the watch is reliable and tough, also being a field watch, used in the army. The army's purpose being to protect and guard a country/community.
Hope your wife and daughter approves it, I would call it the "Seiko Blue Trench" , because as what I have learned before, field watches was originally for military use back in WW2..
I'd call it the Seiko "Work-Life", since this is the balance most of us are trying to find and this watch is purposeful both at work, at home and probably everywhere else 😅. Great clip!
Given its GADA-ish functionality and looks combined with the classic seiko five field configuration, I would call it the "Seiko Office Explorer"
The crackerino
Captain Sonic, a nod to its military field watch looks, sonic for it's beautiful blue dial & the fact it will prob run a Little fast😉
Glad I found your channel! I'd call it the "Seiko Dusk." Color is similar to our 69 Camaro in Dusk Blue. Take Care!
I'd call this one Swashbuckling Smurfwatch as it adds a whimsical vibe to an otherwise serious fieldwatch. Your content never fails to entertain and educate me. I appreciate the effort and creativity you put into each upload. Keep up the fantastic work and looking forward to more awesome content from you!
Hey Russ! Since it's a Type-B-inspired Seiko I'd just call it the Skyko. Love the blue dial. Cheers!
Oh you generous man you!! 😅👍🏻
Thanks for sharing your passion my friend! I’d call it “The GADA Blue” 😁
I hope you are well and making sure you’re resting well. We want to see your show for a while!!
Nice watch, I just pulled the trigger on this one, the numerals remind me of the Hamilton Cooper, cool purple/blue sunburst dial and lume, accurate movement, I'd call it "The Seikooper"😄
Great video and cool watch!
I suggest the following names - yes, 2,but let me explain -
1. I asked my daughter and she said it should be called SEIKO SISU (after the dragon gem from Raya - they have similar colours and shape);
2. Then I asked my wife and she said SEIKO CYANUS (because it reminds her of the cornflower - similar colours and shape).
Hope you find a good one! Cheers!
Given it's pilot watch vibe I think "the blue baron" suits it well! Or given it's versatile nature and it's beautiful design I think the "Seiko Staple" is my favorite!
This is a land sea beauty! As such, I'd call it the "Sky Shark." Another great review Russell! Keep up the good work!
I'd call it the Blueberry Time Buddy. That gorgeous blue dial reminds me of picking blueberries with my 5 and 3 year old daughters. Time Buddy because the movement is so reliable and because it could go so well with any outfit, occasion, or activity - it's the perfect companion for those who want or can only have one watch.
Cheers! Love the show. It has helped educate me a lot over the past few months. My girls also ask me to play "the trampoline song" for them to listen to all the time.
Due to the large number indices, it is giving me a very field watch exploration vibe especially like a compass. 🗺️🧭✨
Since it is also blue, I imagine it being an exploration in the sea. 🌊✨
The red painted second hands really resembles the sail flag on a pirate boat to me. 🚩✨
And not to mention, the second hand also looks resembles a pirate sword. ⚔️✨
Thus, I will call it the Seiko “Pirate”. 🏴☠️✨
I might called it the "Fieldster" given it's versatile to wear in many fields of situations 😁
“Blue stratos”
It’s a plain and future proof time piece….I love it!
I'm calling this watch the blue knight for it's no nonsense look of nobility and stately presence on the wrist. Thanks for all of the great videos on watches.
"The boring wife" should be called this one :D
Call it the Phoenix lol
Beautiful watch. I'm thinking the Seiko "Stellar" which captures how the dial reflects the night sky with that deep blue and evokes thoughts of Interstellar; the "Vesper" which is a name of Latin origin meaning evening star, and it also has that Bond connection to Casino Royale, which is one my favorite Bond movies. I could definitely see Bond sporting this in a movie. The "Smurph" if it was simpler and had cathedral hands like the Hamilton Murph 😅
Great Seiko that is. As for a nickname, I came up with "Trekker".
Trekking being an outdoor activity where one might want to wear a field/GADA watch. I think its a fitting nickname.
For a name….im going with “the weekender” seems like a watch for an easy weekend out. Also…trampoline is now on my playlist….great job!
Very nice catch, Russ! 🤩 Thanks a lot for the review! Here is my names list :)
- The Blue Hawk
- The Blue Force
- The Blue Zone
- The Blue Spark
- The Blue Steel
- The Blueberry
Deep Blue
Midnight Sky
Deep Space 5
Blue Do-it-all
Thanks for the GAW
Happy holidays for you and your family
Obviously it’s gotta be
The Seiko Sonic for that blue dial 💁🏻♂️
The Yard Watch. And I say that with love. It's the field watch that never leaves the yard. It has complications that set it apart from field watch sensibilities (Really? Day of the week? What soldier needs that?) and style that is distinctly military but flecked with style details that wouldn't fly "downrange", like certain color schemes and the polished details.
Nice! Just got an new SRPD71 for 150, mesh steel bracelet, blue dial & light blue lume. Very happy with it
Name it the "Oxford Blue" Field!
Go check out Oxford Uni's logo - perfect match given the vibe of this formal yet field watch and the white-ish metal numerals somehow corresponds to Oxford logo's letters.
"Oxford Blue" itself is a pantone colour and a recognisable, elevating and easy-to-remember nickname.
Love your passionate, interesting review!
Hey Russ. How about "Khaki five"
Nice watch. I'd call it the Seiko 'Dusk' thanks to that blue-black dial colour and the the way the applied numerals pop out like the first evening stars.
I have this one and it was the first seiko that I bought. I didn’t get disappointed. Very versatile watch! I agree: amazing dial and not nice bracelet. I normally use it with a leather strap and it works perfectly!
The "Alti-Five" ;) From: Altimeter+SEIKO 5
The "BLUE-LANDER" - Inspired by Derek Zoolander, who can wear this watch walking the runway, working in a coal mine and even breakdance fighting. And, with the 'blue steel' dial and bracelet it is guaranteed to turn heads. Thanks MWC!
I must say it gives off that field watch feel I also like the bigger dimensions. I think it makes a nice successor to the snk809. I think if you put the right nato on it it would look amazing! I think after that the perfect traditional style Seiko name for it with a little twist of fun would be the 'Range Monster'
Lovely all purpose watch really nice blue, I would call it the Seiko field Alantic , with its field watch vibe and that sea blue dial stunner. 👌
Because of the robustness and well made case I would call it "Seiko Blue Chi-Nu" (Chi-Nu means medium tank in Japanese)😊
Hi Russ. I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. I was expecting another Seiko 5 with the old favourite 7s26 Seiko Shuffle movement. But no! A 4r36 is great. I’d call this one the Blue Bird, because of the colour of the dial and after the famous speed machine piloted by Donald Campbell, who was definitely a daring adventurer!
Seiko has discontinued the 7s26. Great idea for a name.
Good suggestion for a name! But where have you been? Seiko hasn't used the 7s26 for years and years!! 😅
@@stevezodiac575 I think they are still around in new-old stock. I had a Seiko 5 which looked just like the Pepsi bezel SKX009, got it from Japan or Singapore or somewhere, it had the 7s26 and that was 3 years ago.
@peakrider4886 Indeed! I'm sure the 7S26 will be appearing in new old stock for many years to come! I have a number of these calibres. They have a reputation for toughness and reliability, and can be easily tweaked to improve accuracy! They also introduced many people to automatic watches! A classic calibre perhaps! ?
My name for this watch is the Blue Knight . It looks rugged and refined at the same time. Stainless steel armor with sword hands and the decoration of a fine deep blue tapestry with silver accents. The name Blue Night sounds the same and is also a good fit for this watch.
The Seiko “Base Camp”. It gives outdoors mountaineering vibes like the alpinist but is casual and simple enough to wear at home or in the office too!
A watch that somehow suits every occasion is... boring. But a special, unique watch can be interesting on many occasions. So I'd always go for special watches. Cheers Russ! 🧡
Great choice for a bargain Seiko MWC!
If I hadn’t just bought a SRPE DressKX a few weeks before the SRPG came out then I would have definitely bought one. I love the field watch influences. I would miss lume on the numerals but I think the light play on the brushed surfaces is a pretty good trade off. A really nice watch!
Cheers Gareth! There are certainly gems out there still!!!
Great review, I would call it the blue traveler. In my opinion, the dark blue on the dial and the field style make everything and make the watch beautiful.
Great looking watch. I like that style because it gives me a feeling of action and adventure. With the blue and active looking dial a good name to consider is, "Sky Rider".
hey Russel! That's a great find for someone looking for an inexpensive automatic watch, maybe their first watch or just one more watch for their collection! I think calling it the Seiko 'Kamikaze' would be cool! This watch definitely has the pilot watch vibe and Seiko use to manufacture watch for the Japanese pilots back in WWII.
Hi Russ. Brilliant review as always, thank you. As for a name - how about 'The Bluebird'? Coz it's a looker and obviously it's blue 😋
Just copped for my step dad for xmas. Great find, thank you!
"The SUPERMAN" .....I reckon :0"
I like the simplicity of this watch. Would call it ”Air Scout” because of the field/pilot aspect.
What a nice looking field style seiko !!! that blue screen really pops too ... DEFFO A BLUE OYSTER CULT classic !!!
I'd call it the "Night Sky" because of the color resembling the night sky with full moon, and the outdoorsy vibe of the watch.
My girlfriend called it "Donald (Duck)" and I think it captures the color scheme perfectly!
With it looking like a pilot slash field watch the blue horizon sounds apt .loving the content Russell you are a breath of fresh air😂
For me that is a "Seiko Penguin Explorer" because the color and the bright numerals gives me a polar vibe ❄🏂🐧❄
I would name it the "Smurf Pirate"
Its looks laid back, relaxed and fun.
The blue adds a little edge and makes it eye catching.
Thanks for the giveaway.
I love the basic field/aviator style of watches like this one.
I might call it the Seiko Dressy Field since it gives me strong Hamilton vibes with the style of the dial but has a cleaner polished look to the case that could be worn with suit.
"The Clark Kent" watch: a seamless fusion of office elegance and Superman's iconic colors. This timepiece exudes sophistication with a sleek design, ideal for any professional setting. The blue and subtle hints of red pay homage to Superman, adding a touch of superhero charm
I think we could call it the 'Gladius' as the hour hand looks like the Roman sword and it also plays on the GADA reference. Great video MWC
The Scarab because of the field type of watch which I connect with the desert and it is blue also so it makes sense for me
Good morning Russ!, thanks for the awesome review as always. For the name I would probably call it the Seiko Thunderbird for it versatility and wearability. Good luck guys!
Nice! Let’s call it the Wild Blue Yonder in honor of the pilot’s watch vibe it gives off.
I have one!
Love it on a brown leather strap. Easy to read and looks great in different conditions.
Sieko Bluebird
I would call it the Seiko Stalwart for its sturdy construction and hard working go-anywhere vibe. Thanks for the review!
Yo, that was a great video, totally enjoy your videos and it's composition. Anyways, coming to the naming of that precious watch.. I'd call it the "TRIDENT" emerged from the deep blue ocean, beauty above the shore & darkness down the lane, a home to the water-benders, the weapon of the gods, the trident.
“Last (Affordable) Seiko Standing” 😁👍🏻 Thanks for a great show! Cheers, from a fellow musician (violinist)
Thank you my friend!
I dub thee the 'Schoolie'. It looks like something a teacher (and perhaps a schoolboy, a nerdy one like me) would wear. It is the perfect fit for the classroom, for the gym, the library, the school event, and even hanging out with friends after the school, etc. It also looks like the big clocks that one usually finds in school hallways.
The Bluematic 23 - a homage to its colour, movement and year all-in-one!😀
Great review MWC, and a really nice piece at a great price as well. The Blue Bomber
Great content as always...
As for names; the Seiko "Trench Dweller", or the "Field Pilot"... very true what you said... it is a balanced field flavour with some pilot sparks.... nice.
I really do like the royal blue face, whilst being budget it still looks good enough to wear at any posh do, so I'd call it the "Seiko Regal" love the large, easy to read numbers, my old eyes need that these days.
Let's call it the 'Mad Blue Whale', for the humbleness & class like the animal but mad like the lad wearing it.
That's definitely a steal at that price! You could call it the Seiko KCCO - Keep Calm and Cary On, a nod to its field watch vibe, and GADA functionality!
I'd call this one the "Seiko Trailblazer" because of the field/pilots watch design.
Keep up the great work. Really enjoy the videos.
Thank you my friend!
Hi Russ... Id call it the 'Space Odessey' or the 'odessey' for short... Going with the galaxy blue dial and applied silver numbers of the field like dial I'd say it was ready for a space adventure lol... Have a good one!
I would call it:
“The multi-skilled”
As it looks like a field watch but would go with anything!
Love your videos. Thanks to you i bought my first G-shock GA-2100!!!
The blue star. Timeless, shiny and... Well, it's blue! 🔵
I love it. I had the previous incarceration with Sports on the dial and non-hacking movement. Excellent value.
Another great review on one of my favorite channels! Thank you for all your great content.
I haven’t read all the comments, so if it hasn’t been suggested yet, I will call it the Dark Star.
Hello Russ , I love you're reviews , always fun and love the wife's comments especially. I'd call this watch the" sky field." It covers the pilot , and field watch aspects plus the blue colour . Thanks for all the great shows . Merry Christmas.
Great video as per MWC!
My nickname suggestion is the ‘Seiko Sundown’. There’s a few reasons why:
1. Sundown is pilot slang for an aircraft that is retired. You said it yourself, you won’t need any other watch once you have this one. Meaning all others will be put into retirement.
2. It’s pilot slang therefore lends itself to the pilot style.
3. The dial is a lovely deep blue, much like a night sky/ when the sun is down.
4. It sounds cool as!
Thanks for getting me into watches and keep up the great work!
Hooray! A watch with numbers, nothing to dislike about that dial. It’s got to be called “Captain Marvel” being blue with a touch of red on the second hand.
Reminds me of my Rotary Commando
Hello Russ, the dial color scheme reminded me of the Japanese Swallow "Tusubame" being a Japanese timepiece, I'd affectionately call it Tsubame.
Nice video. I’ll call this watch the Seiko Morph, it can transform into a variety of watches
I've been scratching my head for the last hour trying to come up with a name for this one 😂
I'm thinking "ol blue face" in honour of "old blue eyes" aka Frank Sinatra! Cause it's classy just like the the man!
Love the show! I'm a recent subscriber and a newbie to watches, your videos are by far the most entertaining watch videos on TH-cam! Keep up the great work sir!
Great video as always, Russ!
I'd suggest calling the watch "Captain Horizon", as it's suitable to captain anything that comes up on the horizon, as well as its military connotations and its deep blue colour being reminiscent of the sky and the sea melting together.
Keep up the amazing content, my man! Cheers
Love the show, as always!!!!
The wife's comments are priceless 😂 . As for the watch, what a dial, definite field/aviator vibe, with that in mind, how about " The Bluebird"......Keep up the good work🎉
I would call it the " relax back" Seiko. Priced reasonably and designed to give off that cool relaxing effect of color.
Love the blue and black dial on this watch. 💙 Surely it should be called the Seiko Night Sky. Always an entertaining show Russ. Love it 😂
Nice watch, due to its military air and field background and it's Seiko 5 entry level nature it should be called the "Cadet".
Love your reviews! The way the dial color almost shifts, depending on the lighting, reminded me of velvet. So, I will suggest the "Blue Velvet".
Seriously, though; a watch with a dependable Automatic movement and it's a day/Date for under $200.00? Sign me up!
As per naming the watch- I dub thee, the "Seiko Royal Field" Russell! you're my favorite watch guy by far! House of Pagani is awesome- more from the design house please!
Loved the review! I would call it “ The Sapphire Desire”
Perfect size for those of us with girly wrists and nice dial. Great video!
The Guilliman, as this watch is a great example of versatility and form without being too much or flashy
THE BLUEY!!!
Morning Russ, and thank you again for your amazing show. I think THE BLUEY reflects how wonderfully blue this watch is and it’s kind of a “diminutive” and “warm” noun given the small price and accessibility of this quality Seiko.
Have a wonderful Xmas guys 🎉
Love the look of this watch! I'd call it the Azure Expedition! Great review!
Great value for this stunnaa….
‘Blue rocket’ from RPG in the reference.
‘Blue steel’ is an obvious contender for the Zoolander fans!
‘Dart Frog’ …there’s blue ones out there but more importantly it sounds cool!
Cheers
Seiko “Tommy”
Field watch inspired and tough as a “Tommy”
Keep up the great work Mr MWC, great channel and superbly honest wife! 👏👏
This is my watch since 2021, I love it! If you don't like the bracelet, a vintage leather strap is a great option!.
