The tenor Mitch that was always teased because of his voice and now he's a star in Pentatonix. He's got very good voice for this and lucky he or someone else realized it that is awesome
The network actually cut out the real reason they went in the final cut, they cut them off and edited their lines, but they actually went because Scott and mostly Mitch got teased for being gay or bisexual - and the other three, who are straight believe in the Trevor Project because of that. The Trevor Project helps all bullied teens, but is mostly targeted towards the LGBTQ+ community (because they do receive the majority of bullying, specially back in the late 2000's early 2010s). But NBC didn't know how the public would react to Scott and Mitch being gay, so they kept that under wraps for the duration of the show.
@@Karenlowry1 No, they genuinely were off key in parts, but it was still great. If you look in TH-cam for “Pentatonix without you parking garage” you’ll see another video they did with their phones where they sang this version again in a parking garage and nailed it perfectly
Whatever size, shape, height you are someone is going to want to bring you down you need to know that despite that you are strong, beautiful or handsome and are the way you were always meant to be
I actually really love how the song sounds in this key. It sounds new and refreshing, even if it isn't obviously done correctly. And guys, even if they're off a couple notes because they're using a difficult key, everyone makes mistakes. They still went on in the number, even though they probably immediately knew they missed their note.
Mitch Grassi, I bet you were teased in school with such a high voice, but you were actually able to turn your "weakness" into something beautiful... you're awesome, dude! you're a role model to many of us
This is honestly one of my favorites by them. The way they are able to carry out the dissonance of the chords is just captivating. I always thought of this song as a mediocre pop song but they make it into a beautifully sad ballad, which is what they were probably looking for after the PSA. Made me very emotional. Absolutely stunning.
Ikr, I was watching old super fruit videos and went back to newer ones. He looks almost like a different person now. He definitely looks a lot better now than he did (no offence past Mitch, you're beautiful)
Yeah now he is one of the people with the most beautiful voices in pop and a capella history :) And he has the most beautiful and perfect people around him :)
As a sound-man, there is a definite sound engineer issue on this song. PTX got ripped on the quality there, but even so, they were great. I think it would have come across much better if their sound guy was paying attention to his mics though.
When the first girl started talking about being made fun of for her height, Scott looked over like "I feel you girl" and Kirstie looked over like "Lucky bitch".
I don't know what you guys are talking about! They sounded AMAZING. They poured every part of their soul and being into that performance. There's a reason they won, and this feeds right into it.
Do you ever go back and watch these performances and think how cool it would be if they revisited them now all these years later? I mean, they were incredible then but now they would just be...beyond words!
I was so very proud of Pentatonix going to The Trevor Project. And it is something near to their hearts, I know. Because I am horribly disappointed that the producers needed to remove the main focus from Trevor. It isn't just bullying but bullying against LGBT youth. And I'm sure Mitch wasn't just bullied because of his voice but because he is gay. And I'm sure Scott probably was too (my gaydar went off on Scott the first 30 seconds I ever saw him). To hear them now, seeing them become the remarkable musicians they are, is so incredible. They have gotten better. And maybe it was still a fear of the "gay" thing that made the producers remove the LGBT angle, but I find it a horrible act of cowardice on their part. I'm sure Pentatonix was not ashamed of the Trevor Project's focus. Too bad the producers couldn't have been more courageous, like these amazing young performers are.
Scott is like Hun I'm 6'3 Kirstie is like I am so short Avi is just like that isn't a real problem then they are like aw sweet heart it is okay... Just no more high heels
I loved this performance. I cry every time I listen to it. This may not have been their best performance vocally, but it was definitely their most emotional and touching.
binge watching during lockdown. I'm a mom and the comments about being bullied got to me, as both a mom, wanting to protect my kids, and as someone who went through it as a kid... It's awesome to watch their beginnings, the evolution and how they show that you can overcome and become something special... like Mitch said, that what he was teased about has made him successful. Wonderful to see such inspiration!
The more I listen to this the more I become to realize that Pentatonix did a fantastic job with this arrangement. No one was flat. No one was out of place. It was just right. Superb. A very underrated performance.
Scott's range goes further than most professional singers who SING FOR A LIVING. He hit every note with absolutely no trouble, it's all part of the arrangement.
I love it. It's not even out of tune, it's dissonant. That's a characteristic in music when notes in a chord seem to clash, but it sets a mood. And in lieu of the tone of the song and circumstances surrounding it, I think they did well. Before performing this song, they did a PSA to prevent bullying for people who are different, so the song (and its dissonance) stressed the beauty of being different.
honestly. them talking about being bullied in school just took me back to middle school. I have ADD so I acted a lot different from everyone. adding the fact that I was the new kid on the block. but I made an impact being a 6th grader playing not only in a beginning concert band, but also I made it to a concert band with like 20-50 year old people. consider the fact that I was only 11. I was the best in my band. went to a percussion band camp that high schoolers and college students went to and during the summer, I joined the high school marching band. I am proud of my achievements. I was too damn good in band. hell. I made it in the front page of a newspaper. basically proving that no matter what disorder you have, as long as u work really hard to what you want to do, u can do whatever u set your mind to. but yet, I was still bullied for being different in school. but now, I have the most respect in high school, without letting popularity getting to me. I treat everyone the way I want to be treated. Respecting someone can make a huge impact to their lives. being disrespected can bring motivation in a positive way. seeing some people getting bullied get to the top basically proved those people that they are better, and that they DESERVE the respect that they earned. good job pentatonix
I Love how after every performance you all come together to give each other a hug, and you encourage and support each other as a family in which each member is a part that cannot be separated. I love that their is excitement for each one who gets compliments, and NO JEALOUSY, only LOVE AND JOY for each one receiving the compliments! You all know you are a family, and you all need each other, and it is a team! I am soo very impressed now that I know three of you are 19, and being so young, and knowing this, and acting this way is impressive, inspirational, and a great influence, and example for your peers, reminders for your elders, and for those younger than you who look up to you! Mitch, Avaii, hope I spelled your name right, and all who, like me, were bullied, physically beat up, made fun of, etc., or are right now experiencing that, please read, and remember this: 1Timothy 4:11-13 NLT "Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them. 12 Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. 13 Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them." There is also a verse which speaks of Angels unaware. It means that sometimes we as humans see Angels, but do not know it is one. We think it is just another human being. So, you may be talking to, listening to, or teaching an Angel without even knowing it! I heard that we as human beings TEACH ANGELS! They are curious about US
I love them. :') They are apart of things that are GOOD. Good, good things. They did it for this back when competing in the Sing-Off. And they've continued it, and are still doing it NOW. Raise your glass, give a hand & three cheers y'all for PENTATONIX. :) I am truly in love with who they are. They are really more than just voices. And still, so down to earth. Give your biggest roar to the Hearts of those who have them.
PTXofficial To pentatonix, I love how you guys do that. Even though you guys are huge celebrities, you really try to change the world. Thank you very much!!
Guys, you guys! Ok, look at Scott's face at 0:50! It freaking killed me! I laughed so hard! Right after she said "I was made fun of my height" Scott looked at her soo quick!
Okay yes there are parts that they're out of tune a little bit but at least what I heard was just the natural out of tune bits that come with live performances especially with a capella (especially when there is only one person per part on an arrangement in a different and minor key). If it sounds "off" from the original it's because it's supposed to be. They arranged it in a minor key and it works just like all their other arrangements. I would disagree that this was one of their "weaker performances" in fact it's one of my favorite because it showed so much of their selves and you can hear how passionate they are (or at least I could). This arrangement is perfect to me because it's hauntingly sad yet has some bitter-sweetness because this performance was nearing the end of the show and it leaves with an unresolved ending that just fit so perfectly with the ambiance. I personally thought this was an amazing performance that definitely struck a chord with me because it give a glimpse of a part of them that we rarely see because it's so vulnerable and personal because it showed us that they aren't just the perfect amazing PTX that we know but human and beautifully flawed and was just altogether a great performance. Sorry I typed a lot but just I loved this performance lol go PTX!
+Smol Bella Bean But I believe they choose this song on purpose, to show how much they care about each other. And also, they were very emotional during this performance
I've listened to this version of their song in particular because I have always thought it was way out of tune, but I finally listened to each part separately and it's actually very on key, it's just a strange key with a lot of flats and sharps and it does make it sound flat. Especially with Kirstie's part, and I've noticed that since it is so low and she's really a mezzo more than anything, it's hard to sing a flat note and stay on key, and she does amazing. PTX has yet to unimpressed me and it's been three years.
Once again this old lady has enjoyed such amazingly beautiful voices from heaven down here on earth. Thank you PTX for sharing your beautiful gift with us❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
It's not in a minor key. The opening chord progression is I, IV/IV, IV, iv°. Everything returns to a major tonic after either a IV, V, or V7 chord. Don't talk if you have no music background. The worst flat notes are Kirstie at 2:45, 3:12. Other flat notes are less noticeable, but still there.
amazing.. makes me feel emotional at the fact you all did a good thing for the charity and raised awareness of suicide and bullying and to top it off you did a fantastic performance. amazing :) x
I fall or fell asleep not much because of my hungryness and I don't know if that's a word or is it the right spelling I haven't eat yet I haven't eat well!!!!! DX and I love Pentatonix!!!!! So much!!!
Kind of annoying that they talked about bullying but were not allowed to discuss gay-bashing because they were not allowed to talk about being gay or even mention the word/idea of "gay" and risk offending conservative viewers.
Holy S**t. I live in spain, and just recently discovered Pentatonix. I wanted to "hear something to kill a bit of time" and right now I have no words. It's so awesome, I started the first performing half sleep, and now I'm bouncing on my bed of pure excitation. Pentatonix, I really hope I can see you live, because right now you've earned yourselves a new and loyal fan. Thanks for the goosebumps
The SingOff days...Ah..Full of Mavi hugs. You would think that Mitch would hug his best friend since childhood but noooo, hug Avi, the person I literally just met. Then hug childhood friends. This 'Hug Avi first' thing has kept going for the past, 4 years. I'm quite happy bout that..;)
I didn't hear anything bad, probably because I'm blinded by my admiration but I really did like that 3-part harmony in the middle with Mitch Scott and Kirstie.
Ok, so I understand why alot of people say this is very weak for them. When I first heard it I totally agreed, but to be honest this is one of my favorties.
They were off key. It was terrible. But I really don't think it was their fault. There must've been something wrong with the sound monitors and they couldn't hear themselves and each other. It happened to me once and let me tell you, if you don't hear yourself on stage, terrible things happen... and lots of free drinks for the friends who won't delete the recording.
Lydia Bryda It wasn't just Kirstie. They were all off key in different ways right from the start. You can hear Avi's bass being in a completely other tonality than Mitch and Kirstie, who are somewhat in sync as background vocals, Scott sounding like he's also in his own tonality, detached from everything else that's happening. Then yes, Kirstie's part is terrible, then Mitch seems to kinda' manage to save it. In conclusion, I think not only were their voices really tired, which is obvious, but they most certainly couldn't hear themselves and each other properly. That's a big thumbs down for the sound technicians.
Carlaism I agree. I got the impression they couldn't hear one another at all. They were surprisingly hesitant and lacking energy at the beginning, which I've never heard from them any other time, even when they were exhausted or had to rush an arrangement.
I absolutely agree. If you can't he yourself or anyone else then you can't stay on the same tempo and you can't keep the same tonality. Kirsty and Scott kept changing each line and Mitch sorta came along to keep the right pitch during the chorus.
Mitch got made fun of for his voice. It is womanly. And it is one of the most beautiful, emotional voices I have ever heard in song! Everyone in this group has amazing musicianship. The arranging is brilliant, the harmonies are tight, (and complex), the harmonies are tight (and complex), and the emotion and musicality you form and perform every song with is so, so good! Scott is fun to listen to, I basically want Kiersti's (spelling?) voice, Avi's bass is golden, and Kevin, are you kidding me??? Beautiful voice, awesome cello skills, impressive beatboxer...what CAN'T you do? I've heard great beatboxers and great instrumentalists, but how in heck do you do both at the same time??? You guys take great songs, and make them even better! Even the incomparable Katy Perry's song was improved, because of the sizzling harmonies. I will NEVER get tired of listening to you guys.❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
It's not that their key is wrong or out of tune. It's their way of 'blending' and harmonizing. Being a music student, they nailed the key change and harmonization of chords perfectly. The kevin and avi were great
I actually cried while watching the beginning. I'm often told to shut up because I talk a lot and everyone thinks it's funny. I'm also very self conscious, but people don't know that. I'm not directly made fun of, but I don't feel like I fit in sometimes. I'm definitely going through easy stuff compared to a lot of people. I also just feel really bad for these people who go through this. Anyways, remember your life is worth it, you are beautiful, and in the long run your not gonna care what people said to you in middle school and high school.
Because he was really really perfect... this music need a constant flow bass, but if the raises his loudness he would dominate all sounds... and what they did in the end... WOW WOW WOW... they put the sound in high and he could open wide his box and take out all his tools. Avi is great... really great !!! They all are !!! I'll follow they around... they history is great and they didn't gave up when fall hard !!! They trully deserve our audience and our attention !!! Nice group as the old 80's... inteligent and really smooth like the old and MARVELOUS Legião Urbana of Brasil... (is wrong to do, but the name means Urban Legion, as every one that heard them was a part of that band - that's way LEGION)... I feel really pleased hearing they !!! They are really fucking awesome !!! Uha Pentatonix !!! Uha !!!
You can tell they intentionally cut every time someone is about to say the word gay or lgbtq, which is super disrespectful in my opinion. Also the Trevor project is aimed specifically at LGBTQ youth. There's no way they wouldn't have mentioned that as both a factor in why they chose that organization to promote and as a reason why they were bullied.
@@Lilianna731 maybe it was cut because they were on the sing off, and didn’t want anyone to say the only way these kids won it was because two members were gay. Someone doesn’t have to be gay to support any organization, and they needed it to be neutral until it was over.
I know you wrote this 7 years ago but it's always bothered me that they speak differently on the show then they do in real life. Immediately after the show they started speaking like their normal selves.
This show was also airing a few years before the big push came that made gay on tv okay. NBC was slow on that uptake - they were one of the last major networks to embrace it because they were afraid the viewers wouldn't like it, I think.
This was close to the same time that adam lambert was in American Idol/AGT (i cant remember which) but i do remember my mom saying, sadly, “i really wish they found out he was gay after the show ended. He would have won if it wasn’t in the public before the final round.” And as a queer kid it left a huge impression.
I don't know why everyone is saying that they were singing this song in minor. I definitely agree that it's a shame that people don't know anything about music, yet decide to toss out their opinion using words like "pitchy, vocals, major, minor, etc." It's actually a little annoying... but I digress. This song is written in major and it was performed (more or less) in major here. The melody that Scott sings right out of the gate, "I can't win..., " in solfege is "re mi mi", very obviously major. Even the harmony in the beginning is in major; Mitch is singing an ostinato on "oo" in the beginning and his notes are "do sol mi do", not "do sol me do." I LOVE Pentatonix but this performance was not their best; the intonation and balance was all over the place - I'm sure they already know this. So when people say they were "off-key," they are actually more accurate than those defending PTX and saying that it was planned because they sang the song in minor. What I do think is that people should not get on here trying to prove a point, when they themselves don't know what they are talking about.
I hope that anyone who ever made fun of any member of Pentatonix sees/hears one of their songs or videos and sees how successful and amazing they are now
Yeah, I really wish I discovered them sooner! I've seen their videos like a year ago or more but, I always forgot to hit the subscribe button... xD and now they have over 6 million subscribers :O I'm so proud of them.
I feel like Avi is a pretty Jewish-derived name. But not everybody's name fits with their culture or religious background, so that's not a great way to judge, I suppose. But it doesn't surprise me at all that he is Jewish.
On a different note, no pun intended, I have watched all of their performances on youtube for this show. It ticked me off that the judges were, for the most part, dismissing Kirstie and not acknowledging her skills like the boys. Her voice stands out more than Scott's and is a power house. Whenever she takes lead, she needs to own it like she does when she is singing along side Mitch. Her voice, you can definitely hear out weighing the strength of Scott's. She deserves as much respect and recognition too. Sean was the main one that pissed me off with his comments. He sounded like someone that was poking fun at being pc when he called Mitch's voice "pretty" and made a side comment about Kirstie's outfit on the Britney medley as being alley cat cute as if he was side stepping the voice. It's like when you tell someone with an ugly baby that their child's outfit is so cute or "Oh look how big he's grown" to not seem rude and insult the parents to their face. He obviously is bias for the boys seeing he comes from a group of all males calling themselves boyz to men.
My Daddy is gone now but taught me the best life lesson...my job as a person on this Earth is to find the good in everyone because it's there. Also, there is no room for judgnent cuz that's not my job. These "kids" are so important to every day life..you are truly amazing & some time, I hope to meet you all. Never stop taking the message to the world.
Hmm. I like that they mention the Trevor Project. But I feel like the Sing Off glossed over shit. Like the fact that the Trevor Project's specifically directed toward LGBTQ youth. Or that two of the Pentatonix group are LGBTQ. But no. Totally mum. :\
+Angel Bi If you think Scott isn't available he's bi so you have a chance :D and as for Mitch ... We all wish we could date him let's be honest ... I'm jealous of guys rn ..
+EndIreBrine Source? Because from everything ive heard in the past years of watching and listening to Pentatonix and Superfruit, Scott and Mitch are both gay.
Mitch: "I was teased in middle school because of..... my voice" why did they edit out any LGBT references, especially since it's so well known that the trevor project is specifically for lgbt youth? I mean mitch was probably teased about his voice as well, which is horrible, but I'm pretty sure he would have talked about being gay as well (as he came out 3 or 4 years before this video) - it's a bit sad to see how this video was obviously edited.
pentatroyephan I agree. I remember watching this when it aired and it was painfully obvious that any reference to The Trevor Project being specifically geared towards helping LGBT youth was intentionally left out, which I found to be incredibly annoying and disrespectful.
The arrangement itself of this is incredible. There performance was lacking a little, but I can imagine that their nerves have to be a factor in that. There is another video of them performing this and it's fantastic.
The song started out pretty flat vocally and slightly off key.But once they get going around 2:40 of the video they executed very emotional heart felt vocals.
You said it perfectly! How can anyone watch them singing "Without You" to each other and all the hugs, and not see that this was a very special performance for them? And the harmony at the end was amazing.
Not only out of tune, probably due to faulty monitors, but the arrangement when for chords that they don't have enough singers for. It's missing notes.
The tenor Mitch that was always teased because of his voice and now he's a star in Pentatonix. He's got very good voice for this and lucky he or someone else realized it that is awesome

I know I remember either Scott and Mitch saying this somewhere, or it was Pentatonix themselves, but it's out there somewhere.
I love that they transposed it into a minor key. It makes the song sound that much more desperate and heartbroken. I love it.
AMEN, someone else who understood that instead of saying they were off key! I think it's beautiful in minor
Karen Lowry Actually, some of it were slightly of key, but don't get me wrong, I know its in minor though...

When?
At the end of the song.
Bethanyloves To be kinda more specific it's at 4:12 if this helps.

kinda sad that mitch and scott both talked about their sexualities but they cut it out and put mitch talking about his voice...
+Aashna Gupta Ikr?! I was thinking the same thing
How did you know about that? Is there any links?
I guess it's because it wasn't really legalized then right??
+Eniola oyi it was never illegal to be gay, etc. it was just illegal to have same sex marriages
+justcatherine yup that's what I meant

I always get really mad watching this because of the whole thing with them editing out anything vaguely related to the LGBTQ community.

Not my fave of their performances, but I was about to cry with the way the trio was looking at each other and hugging after the performance! #touching
I loved this performance. I cry every time I listen to it. This may not have been their best performance vocally, but it was definitely their most emotional and touching.
favorite line ever : "scott you just rid-damn-diculous"

OMG I just LOVE Mitch Grassi. He's really handsome and has the best voice I've ever heard. He's a dream guy for me.
And still,
so down to earth.
I had no friends until I was a fan of your band and took your advice you flipped my life upside down I thank you 😇
Okay yes there are parts that they're out of tune a little bit but at least what I heard was just the natural out of tune bits that come with live performances especially with a capella (especially when there is only one person per part on an arrangement in a different and minor key).
0:50 "I was always a lot taller than all my friends"
*The camera points at Scott* 😂😂😂
With a serious face.
Just a trip down memory lane since seeing them on the disney special and the grammy awards. They've come so far since this :)
Thanks for uploading all these video's and thus giving so many people so much fun all over the world!!!!
This wasn't one of their best performances but who am I to say that when they have 5 albums and a Grammy
They probably were nervous or they had an off day, I sound good but on some days I sound bad
+Smol Bella Bean But I believe they choose this song on purpose, to show how much they care about each other. And also, they were very emotional during this performance
+Smol Bella Bean I agree, I think they were emotionally compromised in this one and it affected the song.
I agree, I love this group but didnt like this song at all.
I agree
Ô God ! 1:20 They're singing Dog days are over, by Florence + the Machine ! I thought I loved them, I was wrong ! NOW I love them !!!
They sung it as their 12th performance in the competition.
Thank you PTX for sharing your beautiful gift with us❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
True it sounded off key.
They're all on the verge of tears😭❤️😭
I was too
"I was made fun of a lot for...my voice" Gotta keep those homophobic viewers in check
Hephaestus' Child what?
Lefty Hara They cut out all references to homosexuality in the part about the Trevor Project.
I fall or fell asleep not much because of my hungryness and I don't know if that's a word or is it the right spelling I haven't eat yet I haven't eat well!!!!! DX and I love Pentatonix!!!!! So much!!!
Hephaestus' Child it sounds like the word "voice" was edited into it lol
Nathazsha Alexiz Mejia huh?
God, the chills that I get at the end....such an amazing group of singers and people, and I cannot wait to see them live!!!
im so glad that kirstie hasnt gone the route of so many female performers. shes atill respectable.
I've loved this beautiful, talented group of people from the very beginning and I will love them until the end.
When I first heard it I totally agreed, but to be honest this is one of my favorties.
same
let him say what he wants, im still just grateful he uploaded them because the awesomeness of ptx > one person's comments
they talked about this performance in a livestream. the setup was really bad and nobody told them how it would be so they couldn't find the right key
Perfectly said Stacia. Thank you so very much.
"You can't win them all" BITCH THEY ONE TWO GRAMMIES AND THIS SHOW WHAT HAVE THEY NOT DONE?
She meant this song was weak which is true.
Michelle DeGraff 3 GRAMMIES NOW BITCHES HA
You're awesome you have made me love signing i can't describe how much of a fan and I won't to be famous like all of you
They were off key.
Yea Kirstie was a little off key. It's because she was emotional probably
Yeah. It was the least in tune they had been the entire show. The fact it isn't a particularly good song also probably contributed.
The kevin and avi were great
Awesome ... super talent! I'm overwhelmed with such perfection!!
They are great this group is amazing and leave me in awe
why is the bass almost silent in this video?
listen. you can hear him
Because he was really really perfect... this music need a constant flow bass, but if the raises his loudness he would dominate all sounds... and what they did in the end... Uha !!!
put some headphones on. you can hear him perfectly
headphones needed man
Or just good speakers.. I use some studio monitors and the bass notes are crystal clear.
Mitch and Scott admitted to being gay on the Trevor project but they cut it out
How do you know?
@@constitutionalrepublic1966 it is notions like this that continue to lead to LGBTQ youth suicide.
Doesn't make sense to me, but welcome to the world of broadcasting.
It's awful that the producers edited out Mitch and Scott talking about being gay
Shame on them. That was a big reason why they did the promo, I am sure.
They did WHATTTT?!?!
Men you guys are really good with what you are doing , Guys keep it up
1:22 Are you kidding? I LOVE his voice
It's sad how people judge one another based on there voice and religion. It's sad the people judge one anything in general.
I know right, his voice is angelic and beautiful ❤️👌🏻❤️
+Chantelle Alonzo Exactly what I was thinking his voice is just beautiful
+Chantelle Alonzo But kids are dumb and mean, so I can see them making fn of him for it.
I think maybe they were just tired that night because they were usually almost perfect.Thank Goodness they went on to win!
I really liked this, but it would've been sick if Avi came in at the end after they did that big without and was like yooooouuuu... you know?
love this song and this group put them together and u have something amazing
what would have happened if they did the daft punk medley in the sing off
Arcane mularen Shawn would have crawled up into a ball and cried (or died XD)
+Two Bees The teams would evacuate.
Exactly! Listen to the original.
I hope that anyone who ever made fun of any member of Pentatonix sees/hears one of their songs or videos and sees how successful and amazing they are now
Avis Jewish. Why dont I know these details already? I need to go on some Ptx research spree.
Ditto. But I just joined the pentanix fandom like.. A couple of weeks ago. I'm 3 years late :S...
Same. Just joined bout 3-4 months ago. xP
Yeah, I really wish I discovered them sooner! I've seen their videos like a year ago or more but, I always forgot to hit the subscribe button... xD and now they have over 6 million subscribers :O I'm so proud of them.
i was guessing when i thought he was jewish; he looks like howard from the big bang theory who is jewish
:PPPP
I feel like Avi is a pretty Jewish-derived name. But not everybody's name fits with their culture or religious background, so that's not a great way to judge, I suppose. But it doesn't surprise me at all that he is Jewish.
1:23 That's what makes him unique. Those kids are just jealous, because he's too unique
I really love this group! Great singers! Congratulations!👍🏼☃️🎅🏽😛Totally wonderful! God bless all of you! Merry Christmas!
"Now there sitting here watching you on the sing off so AHHAAAHHH" killed me 😂 😂
Mitch, your voice is beautiful
This was actually brilliant. The dissonance was a smart move and they made it work :) absolutely perfect :)
1:22 Mitch you make me cry :')
happy tears....they're all happy tears
TWO?!
WHAT?!
WHY?!
NO?!
IM SLOWLY DYING!
Jk, I already knew
BUT STILL!!
+Angel Bi If you think Scott isn't available he's bi so you have a chance :D and as for Mitch ... We all wish we could date him let's be honest ... I'm jealous of guys rn ..
+EndIreBrine how do you know
+Coolbackrounds Scott said it himself.
+EndIreBrine Source? Because from everything ive heard in the past years of watching and listening to Pentatonix and Superfruit, Scott and Mitch are both gay.
love this song the Pentatonix makes it sound much better and more cool
Mitch: "I was teased in middle school because of..... my voice" why did they edit out any LGBT references, especially since it's so well known that the trevor project is specifically for lgbt youth? I mean mitch was probably teased about his voice as well, which is horrible, but I'm pretty sure he would have talked about being gay as well (as he came out 3 or 4 years before this video) - it's a bit sad to see how this video was obviously edited.
pentatroyephan They show was actually called out about that after this episode premiere and the show got a lot if backlash for exactly that.
pentatroyephan I agree.
I'm literally watching all of their performances
never thought without you could be sung like this!!!!
great chord progressions
The song started out pretty flat vocally and slightly off key.But once they get going around 2:40 of the video they executed very emotional heart felt vocals.
You said it perfectly! How can anyone watch them singing "Without You" to each other and all the hugs, and not see that this was a very special performance for them? And the harmony at the end was amazing.
I love how Mitch and Avi hug.. Ah! The feels!
Not only out of tune, probably due to faulty monitors, but the arrangement when for chords that they don't have enough singers for. It's missing notes.
Oh! I've seen it a couple weeks ago! It was fantastic and I've already added it as my 'Favorites'.
