I think my favourite thing about them is how concentrated they are on each other. I've noticed from watching their live performances that if one of them accidentally speeds up or slows down, the others pick up on it quickly and speed/slow to match. Not many people have the ability to catch up because most are more concentrated on their own performance, and it's especially difficult for acapella groups. Amazing.

Home Free mighta got 'em, especially if this was the year PTX won, they've really grown since then. PTX would have been the more exciting, but Home Free was smoother and more consistent. Let's just be glad they didn't face off with each other. Acappella needs them both.
Russell Houghton Well, you have to remember that the season PTX (season 3) won was much much longer and more challenging than the one when Home Free won (season 4). Sure, they were consistent and didn't make a lot of mistakes. But they didn't get as many chances to mess up like PTX did. And actually, PTX only really made a mistake (or wasn't consistent) for one week. I think it was the 2nd week when PTX made a mistake in the arrangement, and after that, they really took off and stayed strong for the rest of the show. Home Free's season lasted only a week in total. Whereas PTX's season lasted 3 months. I don't know. Even though I love Home Free and think they've improved a lot, I still think PTX would've edged them out. Especially if Season 4 had been 3-4 months like Season 3 had. Because PTX was not only consistent, but they were edgy and pushed the envelope of acapella. But of course, you're entitled to your opinion. I'm just biased in favor of PTX.

Jesus tap-dancing all over the everywhere. Literal freakin' chills from start to finish. Mitch set the bar so ridiculously high at the beginning, I really didn't know what to expect, and they delivered one of their best performances to date. But then Avi finished out the song and my jaw just dropped. Where in the hell did that come from? Seriously, just WOW. I can honestly say that might be one of the best performances I've seen by anybody. Unbelievable, as always. Absolutely stellar. I don't know if y'all will ever see this, but on the chance you do, thank you, for this, for all of it. From your individual talents, to how you work as a team, your arrangements, and even how you carry yourselves on and off stage, you've enriched my life and inspired me in ways I can't even begin to describe. Why does Avi have to be so damn sexy?? That smirk just kills me. and those hips are insane, I want to dance with him! Haha love PTX though, they are so talented and just generally awesome. Love that we got to hear Avi's singing voice. Also Scott's voice is pure sex, but that goes without saying I think, and I get the feeling he plays for the other team anyway.
Love these guys, always amazing. This performance especially since it was the first time I heard Avi sing. When the song ended I was expecting to hear a huge "BOOM" from the force of every single female present's panties hitting the floor.
Kirstie has gone through so many hair styles and colors over the 2 years they've been together. Mitch was a bit off key in the beginning but they all still sound great. Can't wait to see them for a third time in March!!!!
They left as awesomely talented and gifted green young kids and returned, after extensive touring, still pretty young..., but a polished professional juggernaut. All they did was get better, stronger, more confident. I didn't notice any weaknesses in their performance; they owned that place for that few moments! And Scott is still "re-damn-diculas" as ever - as Shawn pointed out years ago. You could see Shawn's joy; just enjoying it, embracing it, loving it. And you guys should cut Nick Lachey a little slack; "The Pentatonix" didn't seem intentional at all. We all goof sometimes; just relax your butt muscle a little and don't be so quick to get uptight. Nick's cool and I think he loved this like the rest of us (except for 7 clueless maroons). Excellent post!! Thanks!!

You make a good point, averagejohn1232004, but I come from a family of musicians and performers and I have learned one thing: true professionals learn that you never stop learning. Musicians are ALWAYS saying, "Man, that was great! Show me how you did that!!" As a kid I often fell asleep on my front room couch listening to guitarists swapping techniques, swapping jokes, and swapping stories (or lies)... it was a great way to grow up.
I think that there's none could ever possibly matched Pentatonix's intelligence in rearranging songs and making it their own... And i think that without the birth of Pentatonix, we couldn't have the real and true definition of Acapella... Pentatonix set the standards of Acapella just like what Shawn had said during their season, "I think you were sent back from the future, and save acapella and do it in a futuristic way". I so love that...

They exercised the Champions options and snatched the Season 4 crown as well. No offense to Home Free (which I think are incredibly talented) but PTX is once-in-a-lifetime talent.
This is why I couldn't really get into the show this past season. None of the groups, in my opinion, came close to being as good as Pentatonix was and still is. They're so talented and I'm so happy I got to see one of their shows...they sound just as good live as they do on their record. AMAZING!!!
Yes, I thought that too at first, but then it kind of weakens the professionalism of it. They're not amateurs any more; this is their creative business, their life, their profession now. They no longer need public judges' comments, just hugs and plaudits. :o)
Watching this again a year later has made my reaction to this video slightly different. Last year, I was all over Pentatonix. This year, I'm like.... "OMG! Pentatonix and Home Free in the same video?! Automatically the best video ever!"
I love the moment when you can see Jewel be like, "Wow, these guys are amazing," to Ben and he's just like, "Yep - that's how Pentatonix does." That had to be the first time Jewel had every seen them preform live - which they are amazing when you watch over a computer or phone screen - but there is NOTHING like watching/listening to them in person.

Musicians are ALWAYS saying, "Man, that was great! Show me how you did that!!" As a kid I often fell asleep on my front room couch listening to guitarists swapping techniques, swapping jokes, and swapping stories (or lies)... it was a great way to grow up.

I think that there's none could ever possibly matched Pentatonix's intelligence in rearranging songs and making it their own... And i think that without the birth of Pentatonix, we couldn't have the real and true definition of Acapella... Pentatonix set the standards of Acapella just like what Shawn had said during their season, "I think you were sent back from the future, and save acapella and do it in a futuristic way". I so love that...

Uchiha Shisui they NEVER use auto tune. that's what I love about them. they are just pure, raw whole talent
@@emi_clayton They use sound editing in the studio - I've read an interview with their editor who cleans up the sound, so yeah, it's not all live on their albums and in the videos.

This is why I couldn't really get into the show this past season. None of the groups, in my opinion, came close to being as good as Pentatonix was and still is. They're so talented and I'm so happy I got to see one of their shows...they sound just as good live as they do on their record. AMAZING!!!
I wish the judges had given some comments about their performance, just to hear them say: That was perfect, genius, and we are so proud of you!!!
Yes, I thought that too at first, but then it kind of weakens the professionalism of it. They're not amateurs any more; this is their creative business, their life, their profession now. They no longer need public judges' comments, just hugs and plaudits. :o)

Watching this again a year later has made my reaction to this video slightly different. Last year, I was all over Pentatonix. This year, I'm like.... "OMG! Pentatonix and Home Free in the same video?! Automatically the best video ever!"
I love the moment when you can see Jewel be like, "Wow, these guys are amazing," to Ben and he's just like, "Yep - that's how Pentatonix does." That had to be the first time Jewel had every seen them preform live - which they are amazing when you watch over a computer or phone screen - but there is NOTHING like watching/listening to them in person.
