- This is it..the winner of the 3rd series of the sing off is about to be announced! It's been a rough guessing game on who will come to the finals with pentatonix at least...but i sure hope everyone is happy with the outcome..but of course one group will be eliminated first coming in 3rd place.
they sang "Coming Home" by Diddy -- Dirty Money feat. Skylar Grey
unfortunately you won't hear the 2nd place group sing unless you go to the website but the group that won sang "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor even though it was cut off. too bad they were so strained on time they had to move quick...
but i hope everyone enjoyed this series and thanks to those that stuck around watching even though i made "controversial" ratings lmao. but i do hope this series is renewed because after the low ratings this series had..down from a 2.5 last year to a 1.5 this year is not a good thing...i think maybe they'll put it back to just a 2 week show in december...let's hope so..because i'd like to see more girls in the finals next time :/ - บันเทิง

PTX is amazing, but it's basically a rule that the more people you have, the tighter your margin of error is. It's physically much harder to maintain and blend the voices of 16 people vs 5.
Props to the Aires for being such amazingly good sports, tho, like. I saw a couple of them jumping excitedly when the announcement was made, and then they practically MOBBED Pentatonix almost immediately with hugs and congratulations. THAT is how you do gracious losing.
I noticed that too! They made it a point to shake hands with/hug each member of PTX. Very classy! They should tour with PTX! What a show that would be, huh? I think I read somewhere that the Aires now have a record deal too.
Agreed. This is something that is somewhat (although not entirely) unique within the acapella culture, and I love it. It happened throughout the series. Although not as dramatically as it did here.
@@philbrooks7103 I think this is merely the case, that it's not as dramatic in the other seasons because Pentatonix cemented themselves early on as the favorite to win (at Love Lockdown is when I think everyone knew) and then they kept getting better so the other groups, who were struggling clearly knew from pretty early on that they were competing for 2nd place or at least that PTX was going to the finale. Or at least had an inkling, they knew it would be them and PTX and the finale if they (not ptx) made it.

The reason I like Pentatonix as much as I do, is that they are all special individuals, they are all unique, all have their own special voice and they fit perfectly together as a group. They are also extremely creative and daring.

Seems like yesterday when they won the Sing Off ... and now they've begun to make Ben Folds' prediction come true, which is that they would bring a capella music into the mainstream. Three albums, millions of followers and fans, sold-out concerts around the world, and now a Grammy later -- they're moving in the right direction, and I am excited to see where this road will continue to lead!

They've come so far, and now they're sitting on a Grammy win, a second Grammy nomination, a platinum Christmas album, sold out worldwide tours, a #1 debut original album on Billboard, a documentary, over 9m subscribers and over 1 billion views on TH-cam. All in just four short years.
I'm still in awe of their brilliance, and I can't wait to see what else they come up with.

They had to cancel this show after the 3rd season because they realized no one will ever be any better than Pentatonix.
Then they announced in March of this year that the new Season is in production.
Season 4 ended up with both VoicePlay and Home Free in contention, and the latter won the whole season! So much talent here.

Out of all the competition series I've ever watched the final for... Even though I knew who was going to win.... This was the most moving finale I've ever seen... Just, the desperation on PTX's faces and I was done when I saw Mitch and Kirstie holding hands..

Avi started crying and I lost it. I feel so many feels, I cried.
i've been in a position very similar to their's, and that anxious, "i'm gonna throw up" feeling you get. the lights suddenly seem extremely bright and the guy takes FOREVER to say the winner, but when he does, and it's YOU. i blacked out and jumped up and down so fast my knees hurt for days after, it is a truly amazing feeling
Right before they hear that they win you can tell that Kirstie is relying on Mitch via his hand to not break down and lose it.....they really are a family all 5.
Its still amazing to this day to watch The Pentatonix, a simple five person group, beat out entire choirs of people. They are AMAZING!!
Pentatonix were the best IMO, but the way Dartmouth Aires came over and celebrated with them was so heartwarming. Takes real guts to pull that off. :)

I am so emotional, these five choir nerds did it, they made their dream come true. Watching this and then seeing how huge they have become, touring the world and selling out shows.. I am just crying watching this. I love them so much.

They were all nervous before the results but Mitch was basically shaking in stress. I am glad that Kirstie held his hand and supported him, that was so sweet of her.
