Thank you for taking the time to share this information. I am going to replace all the analog meters with arduino driven LED displays. I had wanted to do this with the speedometer as well but didn't know how it worked. You did a fantastic job of explaining it.
Hi, thanks for creating this video. I am having a similar problem with my 92. I have tested the wiring and the sensor, so it appears my speedo is not working. I don't have the electronics experience that you obviously have; is there a way to bench test the speedo and/or the chip itself with a simple voltmeter to ensure they are the problem components?
For someone reason I'm getting 7v to that bottom pin. Do you think tgat could be an issue? I have tried replacing my vss and I got a used speedometer that was working before removing it for the other truck. My speedometer still doesn't work and I've gone over everything else I can think of. All I'm left with is that 7v is wrong and I have to fix that somehow

i replaced the sensor on the trans and also replace to the broken mini gear. still doesnt work, both speedo and tripo. im this close to just lighting it all on fire. any suggestions
i own a 91 dodge ram 318 4 wheel drive,i got a 93 cab from down south which is rust free,iam wondering if the 93 speedometer will work on the 91 wireing harness,because the inside of the 93 speedometer looks diffirent then my 91 gauge

So where's the best place to get new speedo or best way to fix my 91. Plz someone help it's the only thing. Keeping me from getting it inspected.
