Great comparison of the Torin 7 and Topo Specter, Jay! Both seem like solid options for different running needs. Torin 7 for comfort and recovery, while the Topo Specter for speed and performance. Thanks for the insights!
The specter was too narrow for my bunion;), Altra may be better you think? Wideness of Specter is only at the very end of the shoe toebox, not so much towards the knuckle of the metetarsal
I think it might be because of the more curved shape of the Specter. I find other Topo's very comparable in toebox space to Altras (for example, the Phantom 3). If you try Altra, realize they now come in 3 different toebox widths. Your best bet from Altra might be something like the Via Olympus (it has their original fit, widest toebox) You might also be able to use shoes like the Torin or Escalante that come with there standard (or medium width toebox), in particular if the upper material is fairly flexible.
Hi. Just found you. I bought the Torin 6 on sale to try out Altra. The Zero effect felt good and allowed for a natural stride but I weigh 200 and the sole was just too thin .....i suppose the 7 is not much different. Thanks.
I just realized I wasn’t subscribed. I’ve been watching your vids for over a year but just noticed, so I subscribed.
Thank you for watching and subscribing!!!!
Very nice video sharing ❤

The Torin 7 has a bit thicker midsole. They increased it from 28mm of foam to 30mm.
Altra also sells the Via Olympus with 33mm of foam
