Multiplayer Monday idea: You and 3 others each build 1/4 of a hide and seek map. After you are done building you join them together. Teaming is allowed however you cannot hide in your section. You could play regular hide and seek, tag or sardines. You could make a video or live stream of you building it and the next video you actually play it.
@@DNFplaysHe does mean 4 though. It’s because that’s 3 players and him, making 4. Each making a fourth of the map. I understand the misunderstanding though.
You guys should do a 2v2 battles with tanks and planes, where each person builds a tank and a plane, and every round you switch who is flying and switch who is driving! Planes get a 200 block limit, while tanks get 300 blocks Tank upgrades would be: minigun, then add a cannon, then add a rocket, then add a blaster plane upgrades would be: Minigun (2), then add rockets (2), then add bombs (1), then add a blaster (1). Also you have to use Yusei's mouse flying system for the plane, but it doesn't count towards the blocks, same with weapons. Imagine trying to fight in tanks, then all of a sudden you get rained on from the enemy plane at the same time!
Several things that might be able to keep your tank alive would be: 1 add a gorget or raised ring of armor around the turret on the top hull, this would prevent your tank from being decapitated so easily. 2. You can use logic blocks to limit the depression of the cannons so that it can't blow you up accidentally 3. An unconventional design option would be to add a gun to the hull. Several effective WWII tank designs had a large gun in the Hull and a smaller faster firing turret gun. (See French Char B1 bis and the US M3 Lee):
@gearandalthefirst7027 the Char B1 Bis was actually pretty good tank for early in the war, unfortunately they were never deployed in large numbers in the right places. If they'd had a decent quantity on the Belgian border they would have slaughtered the Panzer II's, III's, and the few panzer IV that just went around the scary heavily armed and armored Maginot line. At that time if I'm remembering right the blitzkrieg had a bad flaw they kept outrunning their infantry and supply units. Everyone knows you gotta have infantry coordinate with armor to effectively subjugate an area. And the supplies, hope they stored a lot of sausages in the back of the tank 😁
@@Hyper_Fox06 There could've been infinite char B1s and it wouldn't have made a difference, french soldiers did not want another WW1. I meant more that dual-calibre designs were not intended to see much tank v tank combat and were usually primarily anti-infantry, making the concept not that relevant for this competition.
@gearandalthefirst7027 the armor was much better than panzers the main hull gun could easily penetrate most parts of Panzer 3's while bouncing the German shells. The turret gun wasn't too bad either it could destroy tracks and other sensitive areas. But yes I agree that a lot of the effectiveness of a fighting force is its mentality and the French didn't want their country to be turned into a massive cratered wasteland again, I can understand because trench warfare and the tactics of WWI were the absolute worst. Tens of thousands of dead soldiers and they never changed their method of waging war. It was a horrid mess.
Random medium of travel (water, air, land), the randomizer activates after sometime and goes into a part or engine that activates one of the modes of travel, this can be used for a battle of some sorts. Randomizer could randomly change who controls certain parts of a vehicle (by like +2 people control the whole thing and it than split evenly, this way you change who does what).
If your fighting with explosives, making extensions like keeping your shields spaced away from the vehicle could help in negating the explosion radius. Something similar to Schürzen in WW2.
We need either an option for the Aiming Servo to aim AT the camera, instead of the camera direction, or just invert the directions. Or a separate block that is the same as the "Aiming Servo" but aims at the camera instead of the direction of the camera, so we can make a mouse-controled planes or rockets for example. :D
To fix the wobbly and out-of-control turret, try adding weight to the back of the gun, a counterweight would help the pivot servo experience less struggles with torque and stuff. Haven't experienced this in Trailmakers yet, but I have dealt with it in similar games(Space Engineers) when building custom turrets. . Gun > --o
AA vs air battle again would be fun. Would be cool to see you and the other guys build your on AA guns and bomber planes. Camera (the part) aim would also be cool to see.
I’d like to see you revisit some of your old (and less old) challenges now that you’ve got more experience: Watch the video back before you start building so you can get an idea of what could be improved on. In tank battles, for example, I’d probably use multiple turrets so that I’m not out of the game if I lose one, and maybe add some raw thrusters for quick bursts of acceleration
i've watched a lot of your videos over the years and not recall this idea which is silly to be for sure. IDEA: merry go round dismount. all players attached to a merry go round (whatever you decide to build i think animals that fly and shoot would be funny) to continue merry go round spins up everyone is armed and ready to fight and then at full speed (what ever that works out to) release and commence the dog fight or pigeon shoot or however you want to call it thanks for all the entertainment over the years!
Hi scrapman. Day 33 of asking you to make a gyro free stol plane (short takeoff and landing) or a bush plane and try to get the shortest takeoff and landing you can (in trailmakers)
You should make a ballistic calculator that will calculate the angle for the canon to hit the target at the given range. It should be really easy to make since trigonometric functions like sine were added and canon projectiles don't seem to have a wind resistance
An evolution battle or race where the environment changes every couple battle/race or whenever you think would most interesting could be interesting to do.
might go terribly wrong with the tendency of trailmakers' physics to destabilize, but I'm thinking a destruction derby where you can't use wheels or thrusters to move, and instead have to build a contraption that relies on the aiming servo. Kinda in the style of Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy in a way haha.
Scrapman should look up about the pros and cons for a rear turreted, mid-turreted, and front turreted vehicle... But for Trailmakers, I'd say a mid or front turreted vehicle/tank would be best
Nice build idea: make a tank with the new servo on low speed and actual engine steering, so u can turn in place without gyro's, so its a realistic tank.
I'm guessing the shakes are related to the position of the turret, it being above the seat may have caused it to correct it self when it didn't need to .
The shaking is likely caused by large inertia differences. Physics engines really don't like chains of physics bodies with wildly different masses. The trick is to throw a heavy block or few on the intermediate body.
hey scap y'all should definitely do like a boss battle. What I mean is a pvp where players create the tankiest biuld with exposed dynamite (an obvious but hard to hit weak spot) then battle it out
One thing you might want to do with your tanks is sink the turret's servo down into the body of the tank where it will be most protected by armour. Then you have a cylinder extending from the turret down into the main body. The turret itself would cover the gap between the cylinder and the body. That way the tank would need to get deleted before you run the risk of losing your turret.
Multiplayer idea: choose one or multiple vehicle types and have 4 of you build a quarter of the vehicle staying within certain dimensions but no limits on power cores or complexity
HEY SCRAPMAN you should redo the 2v2 where one team will be driving an armored car with a gunner seat, while the other team will be chasing the car with 2 bomber planes. But with the new aiming servo.
day 14 of Suggesting 2v2 or free for all "realistic" tank battle. By realistic, i mean the only allowed camera angles would be first person and via camera blocks (to represent vision ports and whatnot on a tank), and tank steering would be required. the rest of it would be up to the builder (turreted or casemate, etc)
Do the aiming servos only work with guns? Could you build a plane that flies with mouse (pitch and roll) and a single button for thrust? If so, maybe a dogfight with Yzuei, using those controlls.
Day one of asking Scrapman for 2v2 battles first one on the team makes the aircraftcarrier (you chose how many bocks) second one makes the aircraft (100bloks or 150idk)
For another vid i think you should do a 1v1 max complexity battle ship but only using EMPS to activate weapons (yes so you have to get hit in order to maybe fire)
Just curious as to why the turret was on pistons? Thought at first you were going to use them to raise the turret when shooting down but apparently not.
With the new blocks Would it be able to build a Auto Ark weapon You imput the range (either directly or within a range) and it automatically calculates the position of the weapon so the Ark makes the trajectory land in the estimated area
Can the aiming servo be used with wheels, propellers, etc.? If so, you may be able to make an FPV style drone or other vehicles. Off the top of my head if it does work that could make some of the space races where you have to touch down and then go a different direction this servo could make that easier 🤔. I also wonder if a better driving motorcycle could be built with them.
