    I think all CWOs in the USA/USMC/USN are the same when they reach CW5. When I was stationed in New Orleans (Navy) I had a CWO4, later CWO5 who came to the office maybe 3 times a week. He was either in our gym, at PRTs or at mandatory GMT sessions. He was one of the coolest people I've ever worked with. When he transferred to Bahrain and I had a port visit there, I saw him at the base in the middle of the day, walking around the Desert Dome doing whatever he felt like doing. Dude was also totally based when you talked to him too. Freaking legend!

    • @bradrtorgersen_videos
      @bradrtorgersen_videos ปีที่แล้ว +30

      @@CrazyHorse11235, long story short, the Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) is the "brains" in almost any unit. High experience matched with high expertise. The senior non-commissioned officers lean on the CWO, and the regular officers lean on the CWO. Often, the CWO is older than most of the people around him (or her!) Thus the CWO is afforded some latitude others might not get. Especially senior Warrants at field grade: W3, W4, and the rare W5.

    I had the pleasure of running into a CW5 while I was in-processing to my first unit straight out of basic. We were shuttled to chow for lunch and I was leaving the dfac and eyeing the parking lot for the bus. Apparently I was mistaken because I didn't notice the E-6 and the geezer that was walking next to him THAT WERE AT LEAST 50 FT AWAY! E6 yells at me, I stop awkwardly halfway on the curb as I wait and wait and wait, just for him to tell me I needed to throw a salute to the CW5. So I am still on the curb halfway and throw an awkward ass salute Chief's way, and run away after he scoffs and returns one my way. Very memorable and (un)luckily the only remarkable thing that happened during in-processing. Thank god that Dfac was nowhere near my unit and I never had the pleasure of running into him again.😅

    Is it sad that I've watched this over 30times. And will probably watch it at least 100 more. It's just classic military humor.

    I was maybe a year and havhalf from getting out when one day I was helping a private move the LTCs humvee to the BN parking lot (bc of the stuoid rule of needing an NCO riding with), and our PSG was waiting there for some fln reason... Idr why... Anyway, right before the larking spot, the dorkiest 2LT with a trash bag flags us down and the deiver slides open his window, and the LT asks:
    Excuse me fellas, I am new here, but the chief from the motor pool told me to go get an exhaust sample, and gave me this (shows trash bag, and then studies trash bag); so _how exactly_ am i supposed to catch this thing??
    I keot a skrait face (somehow) and pointed at the PSG:
    You see that SFC standing over ther? Go ask him what you just asked me; EXACTLY how you asked me. He'll help ya.
    And next thing, i see the LT present the trash bag again, and though their interaction was silent for me, seeing my psg explode into laughter about 30sec into their conversation... It felt good. I felt like i did the right thing. Especially for a man with such an empty life as that SFC. I should have gotten a dang arcom and a 30 rack of Budweiser before they went all "funny" (they art not done that goin all funny; not funny "ha-ha" mmm HMM).

    This reminds me of my grandfather 😂he talks just like this and has told me stories about how different the military was when he joined up he is full of great stories, one of my favorite was when he was in boot camp and he told his drill Sgt that he could do double the amount of pull-ups he could, so the drill Sgt smiled and said ok then proceeded to do 25 pull-ups😄 so my grandfather had to do 50 and he told me the first 47 were fine but 48, 49, & 50 were a bitch lol
