So, no lie, I knew 2 soldiers who served in Panama, one served with the 5th infantry division and invaded Noriega’s compound, the other escorted the first nuclear submarine through the Panama Canal, and both of them talked about “El Angel de la Muerte”, aka “The Grenadier of Granada”, aka “Friendly Fire” Billy’s legacy lives on
So when are we gonna get the Chaplain chapters of his times as a green beret in Desert Storm and OIR. How he was a rough around the edges leader that almost never showed any emotions until a wise Sergeant Friendly showed him the ropes and inspired him to be a chaplain.
As a half-Panamian myself, I can say, Billy Friendly is the friend we all need. Can't wait to see him decide heavy metal was the best way to introduce cara de piña to good old American freedom.
Completly awesome! Just in time for the 34th anniversary of Just Cause. I was there, and it is the refreshing to see someone else remembers. Due to SGT Friendly’s extreme valor in the face of overwhelming sand flea activity, Just Cause was brought to a swift end by his daring capture of Pineapple Face himself.
Noriega hated heavy metal and other rock music and Billy Friendly picked the music they blasted at him the whole time. My favorite was I Fought The Law.
I got flippin goosebumps watching this... Goshdarn, was this overdue.. But better late than never, this series is guaranteed to be stacked to the ceiling with barely believable tales of CW (err, Sgt) Friendly's exploits, but on and off the battlefield. Sooo looking forward to watching this series develop!
YEEEEES!! The backstory for the man, the myth, the legend we all desperately needed! How come we‘re being graced with having our security clearance raised to legendary?
Yes! I grew up in the country knowing many people who are just like Friendly, (minus the cw5 part) even sound just like him. One of my favorite characters!
I was assigned to Fort Campbel 1988. In 1990 a bunch of people started to arrive from Panama to the division. Believe me, they were not happy at all when, a few months after arriving, they got deploy to Saudi Arabia along with the rest of the division.
Billy friendly could wake me up in the middle of the night hand me a butter knife, say we’re gonna take down North Korea then go for Waffle House and I’d ask who’s car we’re taking.
It's Army-Navy week, and I got the USMA cadet pep-band on my bus. I need the full series faster than the D-Fac can serve up chicken fried steak. I need to show it to the cadet band so they can inspire the corps to be the leaders of tomorrow and not become another David.
Please tell me young Sgt Friendly was a lightfighter. My stepdad was in the 7th ID and was deployed to Panama during operation Just Cause. Light, silent, and deadly!
Who declassified these? These were meant to stay more classified than Area 51.
🤣😂🤣😂!!
War Thunder community
I did.
Smoke and Mirrors misdirection exploiting Discord, and yeah, the War Thunder community. Intercept is going to go live with this later tonight.
@@PrestonSikes😂😂
Billy Friendly's Panama stories already look awesome. We get to see his time as a Sergeant. This is awesome!!
I could watch an entire Netflix series of Billy T. Friendly!
I second that! 😅
Call it "Friendly Fire"
I was the first kid in my battalion born in 1990. My CSM loved to tell me how he got his CIB before I was born… every single time he saw me.
So, no lie, I knew 2 soldiers who served in Panama, one served with the 5th infantry division and invaded Noriega’s compound, the other escorted the first nuclear submarine through the Panama Canal, and both of them talked about “El Angel de la Muerte”, aka “The Grenadier of Granada”, aka “Friendly Fire”
Billy’s legacy lives on
Billy Friendly, John Rambo, Chuck Norris. In that order.
Friendly taught em all he knows
1. Billy T. Friendly.
2. Chuck Norris.
3. John Rambo.
That's correct order. 1 being most badass.
So when are we gonna get the Chaplain chapters of his times as a green beret in Desert Storm and OIR. How he was a rough around the edges leader that almost never showed any emotions until a wise Sergeant Friendly showed him the ropes and inspired him to be a chaplain.
I second this plot line
Like the good book says, it ain't a war crime the first time.
This is now cannon im my head.
This.
Friendly would have already been a CWO by then.
As a half-Panamian myself, I can say, Billy Friendly is the friend we all need. Can't wait to see him decide heavy metal was the best way to introduce cara de piña to good old American freedom.
Billy Friendly isn't the hero we deserve, but he's the hero we need.
This needs to be an ongoing series. Like craftons advice videos.
Just when I thought Staff Wars was the epitome of story-telling 👏
Nice to see that Gregory from the SM Auditions got a part after all.
I love that we get backstory before the continuation of staff wars.
I am so pumped for this narrative. God bless America.
I already know this is about to be my favorite series lol. Any chance he can get his own theme music??
You mean there was a time Ol' Billy Friendly wasn't a CWO? Id've thought that would have been back during the Civil War!😆
Awesome a new series.....AND a first hand story of the birth of a LEGEND
Completly awesome! Just in time for the 34th anniversary of Just Cause. I was there, and it is the refreshing to see someone else remembers. Due to SGT Friendly’s extreme valor in the face of overwhelming sand flea activity, Just Cause was brought to a swift end by his daring capture of Pineapple Face himself.
Friendly is the reason Noriega took asylum in the church!
Noriega hated heavy metal and other rock music and Billy Friendly picked the music they blasted at him the whole time. My favorite was I Fought The Law.
I could see right through those glasses I knew Billy T Friendly had seen some stuff and been places. Bless you for your service Billy T Friendly
I’m so ready to binge this series. Keep em coming Chief!

Exactly what we all needed
Billy Friendly taught Price, Soap, Gaz and Ghost everything they know
YEEEEES!! The backstory for the man, the myth, the legend we all desperately needed! How come we‘re being graced with having our security clearance raised to legendary?
Just when I thought these couldn’t get any better. Way to go Chief!
The stories we need.
Naked Friendly before he became Colossal Chief (MGS reference)
Holy shit.... this feels like the first time I read Without Remorse!!! It's not a war crime the first time! I can't wait to see where this goes!
Yes! I grew up in the country knowing many people who are just like Friendly, (minus the cw5 part) even sound just like him. One of my favorite characters!
Finally some backstory on the Legend himself!

I fully support this choice and am looking forward to the next part of this story to see the light of day
Those freedom of information acts papers are starting to finally come through.😂😂😂
This is the Netflix series I've been waiting for!
Panama is a great country to visit. I lived there at Fort Clayton until it closed and then we went to Puerto Rico.
Billy T. Friendlys backstory is finally coming to the light, my gosh.
In the first Episode of The Friendly Files.
SGT Billy T Friendly recounts his time in Panama.
I'm loving this!
Already better storytelling than most of what's coming out of Hollywood these days 😂
These comments make me so happy
best one yet
It feels like I'm being investigated now for witnessing that!!
Can’t wait for the Kosovo stories!
"Thuh older ah git, thuh better ah wuz."
-Friendly, Billy, CW5, (one each)
This man's need a Netflix show.
Would definitely watch

Someone get this man his chicken fried steak meal in a to-go box TIME NOW
1989 and already and E5 with a turbulent record.
The loose cannon is gonna go off without his chicken fried steak.
Next one of these should be the stories of chap stacking bodies in Afghanistan in 2002.

This was like a cutscene from a Ghost Recon game
Awesome.....
By the time Panama happened in 1989. Billy T was celebrating 22 years in the Army..
Your Channel deserves an Oscar
We need more billy friendly stories😂
Dude! Patriot Force actionfigures needs to do a Billy T Friendly !
I need MORE of this /popcorn
What Dev team are you going to pick to make this into a FPS level for Modern Warfare?
Wild enough, Noriega tried to sue Activision over Black Ops II using his name.
1:10 good to see Billy Friendly always has his priorities straight
The origin story we need
Tell me why this gave me old school a-team vibes.
Dude that is a movie poster if I ever saw one.
Fkn Brilliant.
This has better writing than Avatar.
Ol’ Billy T looking like Jesse “The Body” Ventura in Predator. A “g***amn sexually Tyrannosaurus!”
Let’s go!
oh yeah its on now!!!
If CW Friendly tells us these stories, will he have to kill us?
Please tell me young Sgt Friendly was a lightfighter. My stepdad was in the 7th ID and was deployed to Panama during operation Just Cause. Light, silent, and deadly!
Funny shit as always brother!
Billy T Friendly origin story before GTA6
That First Sergeant filter is kinda scary.
I know a guy who jumped into Panama. Crazy shit.
