What sh1t is this. many cars have never been serviced and seem to last a lifetime. I change my oil and filter every 50,000 miles and the car is now on 142,000.
Let’s see how long it is last once you go above 200.000km.+ if you change the filter every 50.000miles. I bet it won’t last 300.000km. Changing every 50.000 miles won’t give it longevity.
Keep the awesome videos coming lads. On the 1.4 multiair engines it is also important to check (clean or replace) the multiair oil filter in the side of the head. If this clogs it can cause a world of pain.
Top tip for the caliper sliders: put the threads lightly into your drill chuck and hold some light scotch pad against it as you spin it. Clean in seconds and saves you catching your fingers with the wire wheel 😂 👍🏻
Good spot, that format it the month / year format on a lot of car parts etc so worth checking… I recently bought a genuine fuel filter from manufacturer tho & it was 6 years old! They said no expiry date so good to install! Was as old as the part i was taking out so not always a true indicator
100% agree that the aftermarket parts aren't what they used to be. I went through 4 different belt tensioners that were bad straight out of the box, before I got one that was actually good.
Genuine parts are ALWAYS far superior in quality in comparison to pattern parts, pattern parts are cheap substitutes, there's an old saying in the motor trade which you probably know....." BUY CHEAP, BUY TWICE" genuine parts also last far longer than pattern parts 😁
Genuine is good for the dealer. Most of the parts are made by other reputable comapnies. I wonder if they sell trash with their name on it and produce the highest quality so the dealership can "repack" it and sell it as it's own with a huge profit... 🤣 I think even new parts are not made as they were before. Everything becomes "eco" friendly with is a compromise on the quality and they don't want you to run the car for another 10 or 20 years
It depends. The car manufacturer doesn't make everything in the car. A lot of "pattern" parts are exactly the same as the genuine. Febi Bilstein make loads of parts that go into VWs for example. The issue is finding "genuine" pattern parts...
mito 1.4 multiair have a lipstick filter strainer thast filters oil going into the multiair unit it has to be changed or cleaned each oil change as well.
That Toyota Auris looked filthy dirty. I'd never leave a car in that state. Good selling point for your business using original parts as opposed to aftermarket parts.
English vehicles and engines have changed since I lived there, I had a 69 diesel LandRover and a 100E Ford Popular with a 1172cc side valve engine. Now I drive a GMC pickup with 6.6 litre Duramax diesel.
Turbochargers are sensitive to dirty oil or poor maintenance. I would have advised the customer an engine flush, before filling the car up with fresh oil. Also that old oil filter…, that car is gonna have premature turbo leaks and/or failure. I can guarantee you that. Nice work tho mate. Also kudos for going OEM. 💪⚙️
I have been doing this 40 years always grease brake parts as they put to much salt on the road in the winter so brake part coronation is very quick grease slows it down

Great stuff.. I prefer 'yellow' rice.. Regular servicing just might save owners a massive repair bill. Ask any mechanic and they'll always say, if you don't do anything else. change the oil & filter every 5 to 6,000 miles. The kidney analogy was spot on. Shame about Arsenal.
