*About Aruna Sairam*
Aruna Sairam (Padma Shri) is a Carnatic vocalist, composer, collaborator, humanitarian, and speaker. In addition to her performances in India, Aruna has taken Carnatic music to the global arena, at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall. Currently Vice Chairperson of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Delhi, she was appointed in 2008 by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu as Advisor to the Department of Culture. Aruna works towards the musical education of underprivileged students, through the Nadayogam Trust, which she founded in 2011. Aruna is grateful for the training she received under her mother Rajalakshmi Sethuraman and the legendary T. Brinda, and the mentorship from several masters throughout her musical journey. Her music erased geographic borders when she was the first to incorporate Abhang, a Western Indian musical form, into a traditional, South Indian concert.

After the passing away of MS, DKP and MLV there was a huge vacuum. Luckily Aruna Sairam has made her style of delivery of Carnatic Music unique and completely her own. She too is a once in a life time stalwart of Carnatic Music. I am so happy to have lived in the era of all these great musicians.

It is sad about the negative comments. I ask you if you could sing a single verse in a family gathering forget public grand audience. I had the honour of meeting her backstage after a gruelling concert at Royal Albert Hall in London. Such a generous human being full of humility and innate charm.And she is very educated in science& music. You guys don’t know how lucky you are to view all this on you tube free of charge, I am 90 and we had to do with Radio, occasional appearance 78 rpm records , Please don’t be critical just enjoy and think how lucky you are,,,

I'm totally into Carnatic music now! When I was a kid, I thought this stuff was lame and listened to Nirvana, lol.
Listening to this You are doing the same too... if you get what I mean...
in the 60's in Calcutta when i was listening to Beatles and generally pop music because in Calcutta rock had not yet become prevalent, my uncle would say that as I got older I would not be satisfied by the kind of music I was listening to. And rightly by about 1976 I was a MLV and CM fan. Upon getting to USA I only listen to Carnatic and Hindustani.
I'm an Israeli living in India on and off, I'm so lucky to be embraced by this amazing culture, and I don't have this problem as you see in recent times where Indians are ashame of their own divine culture...I'm coming from outside and I can see the purity beauty and skill as they are , without conditioning.
